401 Unauthenticated dialog box in images

I created an image that is password protected. If I put it in an image tag, apparently it will display the dialog box on scratch. If it doesn't work for you, try a different browser:

Apparently it works in IceCat too, but I can't test that.
Can somebody test Opera for Mac and Safari for Mac please? I don't have any Macs.
EDIT: Please don't add any more images and please remove the image if you quote anyone who posted an image

Oooh! Imagine if somebody posted 20 of these images on a topic. You would have to click through 20 dialog boxes if you used a supported browser.
Note: Please don't actually do this. It is just an idea.

Btw IceCat is just a rebranding of Firefox with a few extensions installed by default (because of trademark issues)

I actually have no idea how our fix could have caused that. I'll take a look.
