Guy sleeping –> zzz; there's a clock next to him.
Thought bubble comes out (as mentioned); zooms in to guy standing in the center
Exclamation mark appears above his head, background expands to black. Guy turns white. Walks right for a few frames (in place, since background is solid black). Draws a white door, which opens to a green background.
Guy is on green field. Few random animals and stuff around him, plants. Walks right to see mountain.
Starts climbing mountain. (This can be loop, just him walking up mountain or smth). At the top there's an eagle with a nest. It gets ready to screech or whatever it is that eagles do but…
RING (giant text appears)
zooms out quickly, shows guy sleeping without thought bubble. Clock is ringing. Guy stretches out arm and hits the clock, stopping it before going back to sleep. Thus it can loop

If that's too much you can get rid of some parts…

To make a GIF file you use a site then get the files and put them together and it displays them at a certain speed. But this is just an idea, remember you guy's can make ones too.
