What M.A.P.s, AMVs, PMVs, OCs, etc. Are
Some New Scratchers may have been wondering what MAPs, AMVs, and PMVs are, along with OCs. This is a topic that should help you with that.
MAPs- MAP stands for Multi Animator Project. The host usually gives a theme to it, maybe like an OC MAP, which means you make an animation of your OC for it. The host cuts up a song into multiple parts, and then usually people select 1-3 parts they would like to animate, until there are no parts left. Then, you make a short animation to go along with the part of the song that's playing during your part. Then, once all the animators have finished their parts, the host puts all of them together into one big animation to cover the whole song, and a MAP has been made. A well-known animator on Scratch who likes to participate in MAPs is Echostrike, so go and check her out to find out what a MAP part is like. One of her MAP Parts can be found at this link: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/34620270/
AMVs- AMV stands for Animated Music Video. It's similar to a MAP, just it's for only one animator. It's just where one person makes an animation that goes along with a song, which is very common. A well-known animator on Scratch who does AMVs is -SkyStar-, so check her out to find out what an AMV is like. One of her AMVs can be found at this link: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/2476363/
PMVs- PMV stands for Picture Music Video. It's the same thing as an AMV, just instead of animating, you put in pictures telling the story. See a PMV at this link: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/174395/. PMV also stands for Pony Music Video, which is an AMV featuring My Little Ponies.
OCs- OC stands for Original Character. This is what artists call their characters (most people have cat characters). Usually it's the characters they made up themselves, but quite a few people still call the characters they won in adoptable contests their OCs too. (Although they didn't actually create the characters in adoptable contests.)
CCs- CC stands for Coloring Contest. Usually somebody puts up lineart either that they made, or that they got off the internet, and you can color them in. The top 1-5 entries (usually) are the winners. There's usually a 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, 3 Runners Up (sometimes. This is less common), and 5 Honorable Mentions (sometimes. More common than Runners up, but less common than the other placings), that get prizes. So, it's pretty much a contest to see who can color in lineart the best.
DTA- DTA stands for Draw to Adopt. If you've been wondering what adoptable contests are, this should explain it. Quite a few artists create and enter DTA Adoptable Contests. This is where an artist draws different colors and patterns (designs) on various animals or humans, and then other people can win the design to use as their OC by making the best drawing(s), bio, etc. for the design.
Bio- A bio, is used for OCs, and in adoptable contests. Bio is short for biography. Usually, it tells the name, gender, age, personality, and backstory (life story) of the character, along with maybe their likes and dislikes. Some contain more, and some contain less, but that's the standard.
I hope this topic was useful to any new Scratcher that was wondering about that! ^^ -katiebug82304

PMV is also a term for pony music video, which is actually the more common use for it. maybe put a notification that an APMV would be an animated pony music video just in case. thanks

What about OTPs? I've heard One True Pairing, but also heard people talk about having multiple OTPs.
