SB2 to APP (Need testers!)

Hello! I believe I have found a way to convert Scratch SB2 to Mac APP. The reason I added “Need testers!” is because I do not own a Mac. I figured Advanced Topics would be a good place to place this topic. I need Scratch users with a Mac and Windows PC. l l l Go on your Mac or Windows PC. Download your project to an SB2. (This can be done by pressing “See Inside” on your project page, and then clicking Edit>>>Download to Your Computer.) Now, goto the SB2 to SWF Converter, and upload your file by clicking “Open Scratch File”. After you have selected your SB2 file, select the options “Full Screen”, and “Automatically Start”. Now click “Convert to SWF”. Finally, add “.swf” to the end of the filename. NOTE: The next part has to be done on a Windows PC. Download the SWF to EXE Trial Version. When you finish the installation wizard process, open up the converter. Now, click “Add files” and select your SWF file. Then click the folder icon to the right of “Executable Output Folder”. Now delete the text to the right of “SWF File name”. Finally click “Convert”. Now, this only works on a Mac. Download Winebottler and Wine. I'm not sure how to use WineBottler. But you must embed Wine in your “.app” you made with WineBottler. l l l You can look online for tutorials on Winebottler. Please post your result. I really want to know weather this works or not. Also, I do not plan to end this topic. So as long as your post is helpful, you can necropost on this topic.

                                  WINE ⤵
SB2 → SWF → EXE → WINE → Winebottler → App

I think that's a tad bit inefficient.

Sorry, I've only got a Mac.
But as Comp pointed out, conversions need to have shorter steps.

also sort of relevant: https://xkcd.com/763/

Yep.

SB2 → SWF → APP
..would be more efficient, and I'm sure there's SWF to APP packagers being used all the time.

Guys…What's with all the hate? I find probably the first way to compile SB2 to APP and what do I get? Hate.

It isn't hate!
We just think efficiency is key!

You did find the way to do it

I'm saying you should use a standard swf to app packager instead of swf to exe to wine-app.

Wait a second? Wine doesn't make a normal mac app?

It does. I'm just saying wine-app because it's really just running an EXE in Wineskin.

Ah.
Oh, and to be able to distribute it normally, you must embed WINE inside the app, which raises the size of the app to several hundred megabytes. Just saying…

Ok.
btw how about using the official Flash projector for SWF->EXE?
(it's just i'll usually prefer something like that over downloading of something like Softonic)
also there is an Adobe Flash Projector for Mac too

SB2 → APP (using phosphorus)
  1. Create Xcode project.
  2. Add phosphorus and .sb2 file.
  3. Insert a WebView and set the URL to the phosphorus player.

Best way AFAIK. Unless @procd makes a mac compiler

Great!
it has a couple drawbacks, though (as with any technique):
  • won't work if either Phosphorus or Scratch are down
  • requires an internet connection

How about you just store the phosphorus script and project file locally?
