Absolutely this. Script and Sprite folders would make things a lot more organized and less confusing when making more complex projects.

Support, and bump! I also suggest that there are folders in the backpack and scripts, as well as for sounds and costumes and backdrops.

I think this should get implemented - it would make the Scratch editor way easier to work with. If you look at large animations' code, they have dozens of sprites and this feature could be extremely useful for the owners to organize those.

Edit 2: I am currently building an OS that allows you to get packages from a terminal, this would also REALLY help with that as I can organize packages into folders so not only is it better to organize, people can make their own package folders with a package folder template.
