Hi everyone! I've gone on scratch heaps of times in the past but I've been so busy and had to deactivate my account for a few years. Now I'm back and wow the first thing I can say is - wow, what a difference! The scratch website has changed sooooo much since the last time I saw it!! I guess I'll just have to start over from the beginning then

I'm hoping to make and play lots of great games, but I might go on hiatus a few times due to school and stuff. I'm finishing year 12 in November, so you can tell how busy I'll be.

I just have one question so far: I just signed up to scratch, but I can't get my profile picture to change. Whenever I upload a picture, a red bar pops up at the top of the screen, says “function(a,c){c==null&&(c=a,a…” and then vanishes. I wasn't able to copy the entire message because the bar goes away too quickly. Any idea what the problem is?

The reason Scratch looks so different now is because it was updated to the 2.0 site last May. Anyway, welcome back to Scratch.

As for your problem with being unable to change your profile picture, I'm not sure what to do about that. I haven't run into the problem because I haven't changed my picture since we switched to Scratch 2.0, even though I really want to.

Thanks! Yeah, I've been doing a little exploring and figured that out I have to say it doesn't look as good as it used to, but I'll get used to it.
That's fine. It's probably just a glitch. I'll wait and see if anyone else can help.

Hey guys - I tried changing my profile picture on another browser and it worked! So I'm all good now ^_^

Doesn't look as good :O Scratch 1.4 looks so old! And let me explain great new features of 2.0:

-webcam video sensing (like Microsoft Kinect)
-cloning
-time blocks
-custom blocks
-sound editor
-vector and bitmap graphics instead of just bitmap (vector for life!)
-online and offline editor
-galleries renamed studios
-new profile pages
-new block category “Events” (Control was just divided up)
-show and hide lists (yay!)
-50mb project size limit
-cool new feature: in the online editor only, shift-click the edit menu, and click Edit Block Colors
-zoom in and out of scripts
