Alright, I'm getting the dll to compile now, so it should only take about a month for me to finish this release!

Any other suggestions to add to the primitives?
Awesome! Will you be distributing the binaries with Whiskers? And that seems like a lot to implement. Wouldn't it make sense to work on one or two changes, then release and have people test those? Then bugs are discovered earlier.

EDIT : Over 500 posts
Yes; I will be distribusing the binaries with Whiskers, and you're right that it does seem like a lot to implement. Maybe I'll just work on the most pressing matters right now (antialiased lines for speed)

Whiskers: Scratch 2.0 for Incompatible Devices

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry if someone else has asked this before, but this thread has grown so long that I can't search through everything: What are the installation instructions for Raspbian on the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B?

Thanks

You can make your websites have a domain. Just go to freenom.com, select all of the domains after putting in a name, then when you hit the checkout button and after all that when a form comes up, just put in your email and leave the rest blank and select the accept button and procceed and you can have a domain for up to 12 months free. Dunno y i said all of this but y not lol?

Freenom is actually a pretty shady company. They can/will take away your domain and put ads on it if they feel like it.

Yeah, you can use it to host a prototype website though but you would have to change later

Whiskers: Scratch 2.0 for Incompatible Devices

Hello together,

after successfully installing Whiskers on the RPi my son and I ventured making a first program. Alas, using the “If I am a clone” hat block produces an error whenever one tries to save the project. We cannot save the project, we get an error:

MessageNotUnderstood: WhenCloneHatBlock>>asBlockTuple

After this attempt at saving the hat block “When SPACE is pressed” gets transformed into
the hat block “When backdrop switches to SPACE” which does not make sense. This happens
as soon as I have used “When I am a clone” hat block. and tried to save.

To be a bit more precise, as long as there is no error (debug message in a separate window) saving works no problem. After an error, any attempt to save leads to “KEY pressed” hat blocks being transformed into “When backdrop switches to KEY”. Sadly the saved data reflect this (i.e. are nonsensical). Closing whiskers, starting it anew and loading such a file shows “When backdrop switches to KEY” hat blocks instead of the “KEY pressed” hat blocks. Correcting the blocks is futile, since at saving they get converted to “When backdrop switches to KEY”.

What can we do about it?

Best regards,

George

Whelp… I'm back. I'm embarassed to say that I haven't worked much on Whiskers since my hard drive failed and I got my electronics taken away, and haven't kept up on the scratch community much since then. But now my school's blocking the Squeak exe, and I can't build any DLLs, so the plan for building plugins might not work for now. I'm trying to see what I can do about it by using a raspberry pi to program on, but the VNC protocol is a bit slow to update sometimes and I'm afraid I might not notice if a particular area of Whiskers becomes slow (I'm going to remake it from scratch because I lost my .changes and .sources file). I'm looking into SqueakJS, and a couple of other solutions to portability with squeak. I'm also going to chat with gwiddle support to see what I can do about the suspended site, as it was suspended to a large amount of spam (so I might add a spam filter to the forums, and close the nonfunctional wiki).

TL;DR: Hard drive failed and got punished; school blocked squeak, and I forgot about scratch. Looking into squeakjs for portable squeak, and going to fix the suspended site too.

EDIT: Gwiddle is back up, I'm currently sending a support ticket to get back whiskers (and, therefore, the sources and changes file possibly)

Did the development downloads of Whiskers have the file?
No guarantees, but I may have a few of those laying around…

I think they did, but I'm not sure how recent they might be. And my hard drive that failed is definitely dead. It doesn't even show up anymore (other than disk manager, where I get an “uninitialized partition” with a Cyclic Redundancy Check error whenever I try to do something). Could you upload the development downloads of Whiskers? Otherwise, I'll have to start from scratch (no pun in ten did).

This has the file, though I'm not sure I have the latest version. I hope it can save you a ton of time!

Here!
I have more on a different computer, so I'll try to get them to you in a day or two.
