Yes, this would be useful to “carry” files from projects to projects in the same computer

BIG Supportttt!!! I came up with some mockups of what it could be like.
You can view the album here (because I used imgur and cubeupload is down again).
When you open the Scratch editor (or the backpack, I guess it depends if they add the ability to work with cloud data on Scratch as well), you would get this dialog: http://i.imgur.com/MnWcfbB.png
Anyway, you type in your username and password, then click OK. The backpack will appear at the bottom of the screen containing all the items from your other backpack, and the ability to set a variable as a cloud variable is now available (which is a different story). Cancel does what you expect. If you don't type in the right username or password, this will happen: http://i.imgur.com/N2ZgqPe.png . If you aren't connected to the internet or the server is down because of maintenance, the following will appear: http://i.imgur.com/m6TL5Sr.png
Note: There is an inconsistency between image 2 and image 3. That was because Inspect Element wasn't working correctly for me to edit the variable dialog on Pixie when I was working on image 3. I restarted Google Chrome and accidentally made a mistake, so yeah.

Hmm, I was thinking of a entirely separate backpack that is saved on the Scratch Offline Editor, and Cloud Data is supported I thought… BIG Supportttt!!! I came up with some mockups of what it could be like.

Well i think its a great idea, but the problem is that it might can't tell from the fact that the offline editor doesn't actually have a sign in button. But if you get the chance to do it, then it would be YES

It's called the Scratch BIG Supportttt!!! I came up with some mockups of what it could be like.Offline Editor… So your idea is a bit inconsistent with the point of Scratch Offline…

But how would this actually work without the internet them?

Offline Editor… So your idea is a bit inconsistent with the point of Scratch Offline…The dialog wouldn't show up. Either that or you could change it in the File menu and during the installation. It's called the Scratch
But how would this actually work without the internet them?
However, even if the change is just a completely different backpack for each computer (or one could be shared within a LAN network), then support. My suggestion makes Scratch offline more online, and slightly more like the Metro Apps in Windows 8 where you have to sign in to do anything in there, but I would never suggest that.
