Question: how should we introduce [scratchblocks] to new users?
Add a disclaimer that saysI agree with the sentiment, but I'm not sure that would help. Please use the [scratchblocks] responsibly.

Okay how about…Add a disclaimer that saysI agree with the sentiment, but I'm not sure that would help. Please use the [scratchblocks] responsibly.
Scratchblocks are a privilege, not a toy. Please use them responsibly and respectfully. Users who post them repeatedly will be punished to the extent of the law given a warning, then a fair ban if they continue overusing the Scratchblocks.

Seriously though, I think that's a bit long. But I think it doesn't matter what you write; people will ignore it anyway…

Here's my mockup! Thanks for the mockup! Looks similar to what I'm thinking.
Some criticism:
* the explanation text looks a bit small
* the wording of “Convert a script to code” needs some work, it sounds a bit confusing.
Looks cool, thanks for making it!

Question: how should we introduce [scratchblocks] to new users?
Fine, but they are fun to use in some cases.(People will obnoxiously use this in normal conversation)
What's so annoying about scratchblocks being used in a sentence anyway?

I think the scratchblock item should not be in front of the preview button. Maybe between the quote and the emoticon buttons? Otherwise, great idea, much easier than having to write "[scratchblocks]“ and ”[/scratchblocks]".

It's only obnoxious and unnecessary when someone's post takes up a mile because of the blocks.

I like the live mockup! But personally, and not just cause I made it, I liked the blue block logo in my mockup better because it had the white line and parameters. But other than that it's better!

On a slightly related but mostly irrelevant note, it's my complete pet peeve to see if blocks without the “then”. This is 2.0, people; get it right!
