You Want Proof?Commented in bold. Hey Where's My Other Post?
Oh I'll Post It Here:
I Downloaded Scratch 2.0 Offline Beta First!
Proof, if you will.
Why Did I Not Get First Post?
Because I Was Busy Playing With The Editor.
Nice. Have you made anything yet?
Let The Fame Arise!
Uh, what do you mean?
I Was In Announcements, The Topic Wasn't There, I Clicked Reload, And There It Was!
I've Made A Few Things, Although Later I Stopped Making Them And Started In Scratch 1.4 Because It Has Better Support For Note And Drum Blocks.
Wouldn't I Be Famous For Being The First?

There's a lot to download. Scratch itself is about 23 MB and Adobe AIR, if you need to install that (first time only), is probably another 5-10MB. So, if you have a really slow internet connection, as I used to have, this could take 30 minutes or more. (I used to get only 1MB per minute.) In that case, it's probably best to go do something else for a little while.
But if you do have a slow connection, you'll probably be very happy to have the Offline Editor.
– John
P.S. People with faster internet connections report download times of just a few minutes.

Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor (Beta) is now available!
I hate having choices
Having banged on the table for this for a year I now have to decide on manually installing it across my 6 schools at the start or term or risking running lessons with the on-line version until a deployable package comes along.
Or still carry on for 1st term using 1.4 and then switch after Christmas?
At this precise moment - a whole 12 hours after launch it has to be said Plan A is to carry-on with 1.4 with Scratchers who've already learnt to use it (Y4/5/6) and risk online lessons with new Scratchers in Y3
But lets see how I feel about this next Thursday
No 1 improvement for me would be an deployable installation package - it doesn't have to be an msi but it does have to be scriptablly installable
Simon
I think your plan is a good one - this software is still in early beta. Let's have everyone kick the tires a bit more before you go deploying it across all your schools.

Ok, downloaded it, played around with it for thirty seconds, and found that the substitute for right click on Windows (Ctrl + Left Click) doesn't work. So now I can't delete variables (My mouse only has left click), can't clean up the scripts, etc.
I hope that you add this later in the alpha version! It's really useful.
For me, ctrl+click just highlights text. (Not in the scratch program, but in applications that display text like word and ie.)

You have found the part of my signature that was eaten by a kumquat! (On a side note, you are probably in a kumquat's stomach.) Now get out of the kumquat's stomach and go do something productive with your life. Like playing this game over and over again. Very productive.
