"Friends" instead of "Followers"
In Scratch 1.4 instead of “followers” it was “friends”. In 2.0, it changed. I feel like “followers” sounds like something twitter, facebook, or any other social media site would have. “Friends” sounds more appropriate for this website and instead of “follow for follow” it would be “wanna friend eachother?”. OR… you could still have the follow system but when 2 people are following each-other they become “friends”. It should have a separate bar and when you become a friend with someone, it takes them off the “followers” list. This is just my opinion, I'm curious to see your's. :]

"Friends" instead of "Followers"
I would support your second idea, about if two people follow each other they would become friends.
This has been suggested before, though. Check out this topic and leave your support!

"Friends" instead of "Followers"
I'm thinking the oposite. Friends makes it seem like Facebook or Twitter.
Friends makes it seem like some social networking site. Friending someone on the internet is misleading. How can you truly be friends with someone on the internet? Followers makes it seem like you follow them for updates, not because you're “friends”
I'd actually like it if followers was renamed Subscribers, which makes it seem like you subscribe to them for updates, the point of this system.
Sorry about the bad wording
No support.

I agree with rollercoasterfan, except I prefer the term “followers” over “subscribers.” I'm thinking the oposite. Friends makes it seem like Facebook or Twitter.

"Friends" instead of "Followers"
friends implies they're actually friends. which they are not. I am not a friend of someone just because I like the content they produce.
my suggestion has always been
followers -> fans
follow -> become a fan
following -> fan of
unfollow -> stop being a fan
although no name change will stop x for x, in the case where x is something that can be increased and given easily, and no one has a limit on how many times they can create an x (in our case, following someone is creating x).
Is there a law for this? No? Let's call it Subscriber's Law.
