How to mod Scratch 2.0.

(GUIDE)

Okay, I have never tried this before, but it's worth a shot.

First, download the HTML code. If you use Firefox, right-click until you find “Save Page As” in the menu. Then click that, and choose where to download it. If you use IE, right click until you find “Create shortcut”. Click that. Then click “Yes”. Now, go to the place where it was saved. If using IE, go to the desktop. Along with the file, you should get a folder called (webpage name)_files. Scroll down to find the Flash file “Scratch”. Edit the code to make your modification right. Now, save it as (mod name).sb2. THE .sb2 IS VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY IMPORTANT. Go to the Scratch editor. Click “Upload from your computer” in the “File” tab. No shift-clicking needed. Then, go to the folder, and click your newly saved .sb2 document. Click “Open/OK”. Voila!

I find it much easier to use the see inside button. The scratch editor is also surprisingly good at modding the code AND I have tried it.

Uh……..? You're:
  • Jumping through hoops to download the scratch swf
  • Editing…the…code…of… What? The swf is a compiled Adobe Flash file and cannot simply be “edit” (One does not simply EDIT a swf file)
  • Saving your “edited” swf as a…Scratch project
  • Uploading your “edited” swf into Scratch as a project.
Meh, good luck. Let me know how it works out.

That's like renaming project.sb2 to project.exe or project.app and expecting it to work.

Um? That's like saying “Okay, to make a gif, you just download a scratch project, take the .sb2 out of the name, and replace it with .gif!” Seriously.
