Scratch for the 3DS!
I think MIT should ask Nintendo if they can make Scratch for the 3DS and let you download it for free on the Nintendo eShop.

No, this won't work. Reasons:
• the 3DS can't support Flash or HTML5 (AFAIK), so the MIT members would have to learn something completely different just to make it
• the 3DS doesn't have the power to run Scratch
• the 3DS can't connect to the Internet that well. That's not what it's made for
But, the Scratch Team is almost done with the HTML5 player, so you can use it on a tablet.

well, it wouldn't have to connect, they could make software for it. Nintendo can do anything for the 3DS! Besides, i don't have a tablet.

I'm pretty sure that a 3DS would have the power to run a simplified version of Scratch that was optimized for the 3DS.

I'm pretty sure that a 3DS would have the power to run a simplified version of Scratch that was optimized for the 3DS.Yeah, but how long would that take to make? And would Nintendo allow it? Would it worth it?
I don't know about the first two, but the answer to the third question is no. Sorry, but I don't think many people want to use Scratch on their 3DS (if they even had one).

Simply stated, the 3DS has a resolution of 400x260 pixels… Never could scratch run on that.

Simply stated, the 3DS has a resolution of 400x260 pixels… Never could scratch run on that. Not if it's an XL… But that limits the number of people using it (and worthwhile-ness) even more. And I don't know what the XL has.

I'm pretty sure the XL has the same resolution, just lower pixel density. I've looked up close on both before and examined them (how exciting my life isSimply stated, the 3DS has a resolution of 400x260 pixels… Never could scratch run on that. Not if it's an XL… But that limits the number of people using it (and worthwhile-ness) even more. Well you could make your own version of Scratch, like Berkley, but for 3DS.

But again, going back to the 400x260 resolution… But if you include the bottom screen it's more… What would be cool is sprites and settings on the bottom screenYou could make it work without internet.Well you could make your own version of Scratch, like Berkley, but for 3DS.Yes, but as I said before, the 3DS doesn't have the greatest Internet….
but I still think Scratch on 3DS would be a pain to make and use- DotDash

It would never be.
Because, even with android port of scratch, there's a lot of law problem, securtiy problem, etc.
Nintendo is a commercial system, for Nintendo to accept Scratch, it must bring money to Nintendo, and learning plus-value for Scratch.
None is a winner in this deal, so it could never be I guess.
