No support, it doesn't cause spam. If it does, I haven't seen it much.
Besides, the numbers are only estimated after a certain number, so in order to raise the numbers in a visible way, you have to spam a lot. And considering you have a 60-second delay (120 if you are new), this would be extremely time-consuming. Since no one really pays attention to those numbers much (at least I don't, and I don't see anyone bragging about their numbers), this would basically be a waste of time for something no one cares about.

I agree. The forums are not a competition. We have no need for post counts at all.

Why are their post counts? I mean like, sometimes a person just puts, “No Support” or posts something totally irrelevant just to increase their post counts. I'm not just saying this because I have a low post count, and the users out there who have a really high post count will hate me for this, but I suggest that there would be no post counts because sometimes users write stuff just to boost their post count.
But really, what matters about post counts?
EDIT: I may be wrong about all the users who have a high post count hating me because if a user posted thoughtfully anyway, they wouldn't have any problems about there being no post counts.

I support your suggestion. Perhaps it could be replaced by a voting system in which you can give a user a point if his/her post is good, so rank is based on quality, not quantity.

And then that wil also make users write quality posts I support your suggestion. Perhaps it could be replaced by a voting system in which you can give a user a point if his/her post is good, so rank is based on quality, not quantity.

ok so here's your suggestion: if a few people like a post, they give it a like and this leads up a ranking. I support your suggestion. Perhaps it could be replaced by a voting system in which you can give a user a point if his/her post is good, so rank is based on quality, not quantity.
I like that suggestion, but I prefer the reputation system on some forums, where users can +1 or -1 (or -1 can be disabled by admins) users on a total (not by specific post) on their forum profile like “+1 this user makes good thoughtful posts” and then their rep is shown on their profile (in this case where post count used to be).
But either(system) is fine.

I think that that would be awesome idea, so that would emphasize the “quality, not quantity” in posting.

So then people know if a user is mostly helpful, or just posting one or two word “I agree's” or “No support's” types of comments.

I think this is a good idea, but people could brag about having more points. Semi-support for this. I support your suggestion. Perhaps it could be replaced by a voting system in which you can give a user a point if his/her post is good, so rank is based on quality, not quantity.

I think adding a points system would just make things more needlessly competitive, the post count is pretty hidden as is while an upvoting feature would naturally draw attention to itself

It could just be like “helpfulness of this user is fair/helpful/very helpful” and people could choose if they wanted to. Then no one would really brag, because that may be considered as spamming and their helpfulness level may go down.

No support. Because really, its not a problem now in Scratch. There are very few people who actually brag about post counts, and very few people who are jealous of others having high post counts. If there are some, well, they hide their jealousy quite well. When there's a big ‘fire’ over post counts, maybe the ST will take this suggestion into consideration, but for now, not many people are unhappy with it. Really, how often do you have someone say in their signature or profile,"
