Ability to use higher resolution pictures without them compressing into an incoherent mess.
This is something that could definitely help me and others out. Since in some cases we'd like to post high-resolution pictures, we unfortunately cannot do that because Scratch compresses pictures into 480x360 pixels, and it is messing up many pictures. For instance, I import a high definition comic I drew outside of the computer (1268x1649) and the output is something that really rustles my jimmies. With that said, if possible, I think it would be a good idea to have the Team hopefully work on support for higher resolution pictures.

Yes, the Scratch paint editor compress too much (or with a bad algorithm)
I don't really care if the quality of my pictures is less good, I think it's normal, everything has to be compressed,
but sometimes, it compress in a so wrong way, that the image is totally deformed, you can hardly recognize it. (if I draw a square, it become rounded)

Yeah. That one's been annoying me quite a bit. Perhaps it should compress pictures into a different format or something if it REALLY must be compressed.

Bump. We need this now.

Use vector for big pictures. It keeps the resolution.
Bitmap cuts off any part of the image beyond 480x360.

In 1.4 we used to be able to choose the level of compression…

Then how come it worked for me?Use vector for big pictures. It keeps the resolution.I DID use vector mode… the resolution I need to use is 1268 x 1649

It's not always possible, the vector tool doesn't have every tools the bitmap tool has.
And the big problem is about conversion, when you import a bitmap picture BEFORE converting it to a vector, it cuts off the part of the image. Or when you try to move the sprite in the editor to give it another center (even if you move the little cross without moving the sprite, it's the same), it cuts your image also!
It's not a normal behaviour, it's a bug!
Just about the fact you can't draw a straight line in the bitmap mode without deforming, it's a bug or an algorithm weakness. Before 2.0, I don't remember that kind of glitches did occur.

Oh, wait, you meant importing BITMAP images without losing resolution… *derp*
*sigh* Support.

Are you using Windows? And is there things you can get rid of? If so, you can use Microsoft Paint (which is what I normally do).
But since there is cases where I need this, I support.
