First, don't worry. All of your scripts are there, they are just not displaying properly. Everything looked fine when I looked inside your project just now.

I believe this problem is due to a Flash or browser bug involving font caching. Try this: quit from Chrome, then start it again and “see inside” that same project. Did the text reappear? If that doesn't work, try a different browser. Finally, if that doesn't work, you could try restarting your computer.

Please post here and let us know which (if any) of these solutions works. Also, which version of Windows are you running?

Incidentally, I believe all reported cases of script text disappearing were on Windows, which seems to be the case here, too. Has anyone see this problem on Mac or Linux?

a) The font is missing its bold typeface. My system's Verdana has its bold typeface, and I have never encountered the bug on my system. Good observations. Yes, it's odd that sometimes the block labels disappear, other times the text in input fields. Has anyone seen both types of text disappear at the same time?

I had the same theory as you about it being a bold/non-bold font issue, but the two fonts are both bold, just different sizes (9 and 10 point).

At first I thought it was merely coincidence, but I'm starting to wonder if Flash might not be hitting the same bug in the Windows text rendering engine that Scratch 1.4 did. I haven't kept careful track, but I believe all reported cases of this problem have been on Windows. Another similarity is that the problem is not reproducible and fairly rare. It doesn't happen most of the time you use Scratch, but once the text disappears it doesn't come back during that session.

A possible workaround when this happens is to (1) make sure your project is saved, (2) quit the browser (i.e. close all browser windows), (3) restart the browser. If that doesn't work, you can try to shut down and restart Windows.

Although this bug is annoying, it's not the end of the world. Your scripts do not actually disappear and you'll be able to see them again once you've restarted.

This isn't a bug in Scratch, it's a bug in some underlying software: Flash, Chrome, or Windows. Scratch certainly has bugs of it's own, but this isn't one of them. That's too bad, because if this were a Scratch bug we could fix it. Unfortunately, in this case, all we can do is figure out how to work around it.

It would be a huge help if anyone who has experienced this bug in Scratch 2.0 could post here:

1. What OS and browser you were running.
2. If you tried quitting and restarting your browser, did that fix the problem?
3. Have you experienced this problem more than once (on different days)? if so, how many times?

It happened to me during the first day of the Beta testing,but the day after that,it never happened to me again.

Most of the time they come back (in rare cases they don't)
