Memory issues importing 200 - 300 images, even on a 4GB RAM machine.
I can drag about 80 images to a Scratch project into the Costumes tab just fine.
I tried to do 150 - 300 images at once and it slowed to a crawl and crashed
due to memory errors on this 4 GB RAM PC.
Is there a faster doable way to accomplish this?
Thanks!
chris

I would recommend instead of importing all 150-300 images at a time, that you would instead drag 70-100 in at a time. This allows Scratch to import everything quietly and smoothly. Also the memory issue isn't about your RAM, it's about Squeak. Squeak is a nice language for Scratch, but it can't handle very large tasks well. In most cases, in simply crashes. That's actually better then getting a blue screen of death, which I heard one user got before (in Scratch 1.4).
Also, I'm not sure about this because I've never really had a reason to try it, but importing through the import button might help a tiny bit.
I hope that this answers your question!
