I think there should be a comment editing option on Scratch, but with an edit history function!
This function will remember the previous edits on comments and list them, like this:

I hate this project!! You are silly! YOU ARE THE WORST SCRATCHER EVAH!!!!!!1!!1111111!!
This will help others see the original comment and make it easier to find out the spammers.

So, what do you think?

Ehh, maybe. Facebook has this, and I don't want Scratch to get any more like Facebook, for fear of users abusing it like so. This would, in addition, just cause more problems than it solves, what with all the potential ways to be abused.

Semi-support, when I edit comments, I usually only change a bit (E.G: spelling errors, things I've just realized, etc…). Would your idea just show what I've changed or would it rewrite what could be a really long comment multiple times? Plus, people could use this to write ridiculously long comments with many edits as a new form of spam:
(original)Hi
(edit1)hello!
(edit2)lol
(edit3)
(edit4)HAHAHAHA!
etc, etc, ect…

Maybe if this was implemented, scratch should have a new rule against abusing the feature?

No support - the ST would have to moderate every last comment to find the spammers and mean people. That's not possible.
