Insanity 2.0 Pre-development thread

I recently was informed by FireNinjaGAME about a free Flash development tool (http://flashdevelop.org).

Here is the plan:
Once the source code for the editor is released and the program is completely stable, I will start learning all of the necessary programming languages, and then will start creating Insanity 2.0.
I plan to port as many features as possible from Insanity 1.2, as well as planned features for Insanity 1.3. Once that is done, I will start creating other new features. I don't have any plans as of now, but I will keep you all posted about it.

Currently everything is hypothetical - I do not know any Flash, and do not have access to the source code. Once I start coding, it will take several months before I can complete a beta, probably.

Anyway, if you have any feature ideas, please post them!

Looks good! I cannot wait for them to RELEASE the source code, since reverse-engineering does not seem to work .

I cannot wait for Insanity 2.0! Please add in cloud lists, that is all I want! (+ please add in a way to edit and play Insanity apps online)

Moving on from Scratch, to much bigger things. It's gonna be one fun adventure.

I wouldn't recommend flash, it cannot be used on some browsers/devices!

But Flash is what Scratch 2.0 is coded in, and since Insanity 2.0 would be a Scratch 2.0 mod, it will most likely be in Flash.

Is “Insanity 1.3” for download already?

Nice news: GP has been released as a public beta.
What is GP??? GP is a free, general-purpose blocks programming language (similar to MIT's Scratch) that is powerful yet easy to learn. It runs on most platforms, including laptops, Chromebooks, tablets, and web browsers.

Try out the new beta version of GP now!

Mod the HTML 5 version when it comes out.

That would probably be like 3.0 or something…

You, of course, could mod Go Everywhere. Minding the fact that it won't be in beta for a few months (I want to guess 5, at the least). We are moving along though. I plan to make one major commit to Go Everywhere at least once per day. That should get things going!

I never actually wrote it. You can download what I had before I stopped developing it here.

I'd rather just start with the base Scratch code. I like knowing everything that's going on in my projects.

I would have probably done the same thing.

It looks like I'm not going to be able to make it, because the Scratch 2.0 source code still hasn't been released, and it turns out that the program I found above can export as Flash, but not edit Flash source. Since I can't afford to pay $700 for Flash, I won't be able to continue Insanity.
