BBCode [wiki] suggestion

Currently, [wiki] makes you a nice Wikipedia link like this one: Cheddar

But since over at Scratch we have our own awesome 700-page Wiki, I think it should link to the Scratch Wiki. This makes it a lot easier when you're explaining something to a New Scratcher; simply wikify some uncommon words.

EDIT: IT's awesome how Cheddar doesn't link to a page about cheese.

If you must. But [wiki] makes more sense. Maybe you should optionally specify the wiki, like [wiki=Scratch] or [wiki=wikipedia].

[swiki] was a joke

I would be fine with [wp] (wikipedia) and [wiki] (scratch wiki)

:O 1000th topic on 2.0!

What's the point of even having a short bbcode for wikipedia? It makes sense to be able to link scratchers to the Scratch Wiki when explaining difficult topics; wikipedia, on the other hand, is used a lot less often.

Totally agreed. Still, it's cool.

And yay, 1000 topics!

The actual parser is part of the markitup package, but there are a lot of customizations in DjangoBB/util.py

I think it's a nice idea - but I'm a bit concerned about how the wiki will handle misses. If there's no fitting result page for the term, will it automatically redirect to a search page w/ results? That seems like it might be best, but it's on the wiki's end of things.

True; normally, wikis redirect if there's a page with a title equal to the search term (case-insensitive), but the Scratch wiki just displays a Google custom search even if there's an article with that title. The [wiki] tag just redirects to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=something, which will in turn redirect if there's a page with the title something.

You can still use Special:Search on the SW for the default search, that does redirect.
