Scratch should work on ios
Apple didn't invent HTML5.Im pretty sure apple doesnt mind having HTML5… especially consodering they invented it…I agree. However, it cannot be in app form, since coding apps are as of now banned by Apple.Actually, there are numerous apps for programming such as Codea, Hopscotch, Tynker, Pythonista, even Pyonkee which runs Scratch 1.4… however, some require money, and some don't work great.
I think that the problem lies not in programming itself, but importing and thus running programs from somewhere else (see https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/guidelines/#functionality - “apps that install or launch other executable code will be rejected”). If that's true it means we'd only be able to make new projects, and not play or edit existing ones. Thanks Apple for disallowing Flash, and then disallowing a way to make iPads and iPhone slightly more useful!
Actually, this problem could be avoided if the HTML5 version was actually being made, as I don't think Apple's that mean to disallow HTML5. Wouldn't work without internet though, so there's that…

I made a mockup of how a phone version of scratch might work. Really hope they give it another shotLooks cool! If only someone could actually make it. I'd post this in Suggestions, but it'll almost certainly be rejected because of the stickies… Maybe a 3rd party could develop it?

I heard they did invent it. Yeah, no, how hard it is to make iOS applications?Depends on how complex it is. You need good knowledge of graphics, ObjC/Swift, and I think HTML/CSS. Anyways, they already have an HTML version in the works, and there are similar code apps out there like ScratchJr, Hopscotch, and JS/Python interpreters.
Not that hard at all.
fixed

html5 is basic internet language! the people that invented the internet invented html5. all internet uses htmlHuh? That's kinda vague. HTML isn't really a language, the WWWC made it (so not really), and not all internet areas use HTML.

Pretty sure they didn't invent it. They did restrict Flash because Steve Jobs hates Adobe it “doesn't work well with mobile” (which I guess is true, though I've managed to have Flash on iPad with an app. As they even had a mousepad, biggest problem was the app not working well), and encourage use of HTML5. So yeah, they wouldn't remove HTML5, but they didn't invent it.I heard they did invent it. From what I heard, they designed it for the purpose of working smoothly on their tablets and phones.Apple didn't invent HTML5.-this is getting long-Im pretty sure apple doesnt mind having HTML5… especially consodering they invented it…
Edit: Oh, they did seem to have invented a part of it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canvas_element

Hey! We're working on Scratch for iOS. It's not clear when it'll be done tho. We have a somewhat working alpha version.

Because if so, I haven't heard any updates on how close we are to having a completed version. Speaking of which, how close are we to having a completed version?

The ST are making a HTML5 version for mobile devices, but with no development in over half a year, it's better to modify it or pixie.
Read the stickies before suggesting anything please.
You can find some under advanced topics, but you'll need a jailbroken phone.
