go in front of sprite, go behind sprite
The layering blocks in scratch are potentially awkward to use as there is no reporter for a sprites z index. You usually want to layer a sprite relative to another so my suggestion is;

Hmm, I like where this is going, but what about other sprites in front of the sprite mentioned? Will the moving sprite go in front of them or just put itself 1 layer in front the mentions sprite? Its kind of ambiguous. But I support

Was thinking that it should go one layer in front of sprite or behind if it has to move otherwise stays as it is. What about
Support for your suggestions too.
Although they still might be a bit awkward to use because of how layers work (two sprites can't be on the same layer).

A reporter would be ideal but possibly confusing as layers are relative and also things like the monitors are also part of the layering which was why I didn't suggest that in the first place. Such layering blocks would have some use, though it's kind of a pity we couldn't ‘target’ clones with it…

Yes. A possible alternative is Such layering blocks would have some use, though it's kind of a pity we couldn't ‘target’ clones with it…
So a reporter that gives the number of layers to the front of a sprite. Clones could then work out where they were as well. But possibly getting too confusing again and just a layer reporter would be simpler and better?
