Scratch "Fame"
Fame is this thing that accumulates when you get views, remixes, loviets and favs. In your profile page, there is a Fame bar which shows how much fame you have.
1 view:1 fame
1 remix:2 fame
1 loviet: 5 fame
1 fav: 10 fame
Project on “what the community is viewing” : 50 fame.
Project on “what the community is remixing: 100 fame.
Project on ”what the community is loving“: 500 fame.
There should also be ”Scratch Ranks“ which you can get when you get a certain amount of fame.
1-50 fame: Unknown (Unknowns get their projects on the front page as ”Projects to be viewed" ( I am still looking for a better name)
50-100 fame: Normal Scratcher
101-200 fame: Slightly famous
201-500 fame: Famous Scratcher
501-1000 fame: Scratch Celebrity (All Celebrities get their names in gold with this emoticon in front of them:
)

Let me stress this clearly *clears throat* Scratch is not about fame and fame is not important at all in Scratch, as Scratch is a site to learn how to program and be creative, not gain popularity. And as I've also said before, the less you seek popularity, truly the more popular you'll get, not that it matters, anyway.
Definitely don't support, sorry.

"Imagine, Program, Share." That's the quote that was made for the community and the MIT foundation made it so that it's not all about fame.
Besides, it might not even be legitimate. Some dude could make an account named “SkythekidRS” and get trillions of “fame” because “Sky Does Minecraft” on YouTube has close to 5 million subscribers.
No support.

No support. It would instantly turn Scratch into a popularity contest as opposed to an educational site. Plus, remixes giving you fame is not fair at all. You can just make a coloring contest or something with little programming skill and get tons of fame from people remixing it.

That's true because if scratch was like that it would be like YouTube and be COMPLETELY RUINED.

i don't think so. providing a way to quantify fame will only result in people turning their project making into a business and a competition. project making should be about challenging yourself to make something you are proud of, not making uninspired things for the masses just to gain fame. furthermore, as a scratcher that is somewhat well-known, i would not like to be called and touted as a celebrity.

I'm gonna report this because it is very irrelevant and is against what Scratch is about.

-1 Scratch is not about getting fame, its about learning. Only sometimes people get well known because of great projects, or being active and helpful in the forums… Some people might get sad that they only have a small amount of fame, and leave Scratch. What do you achive being a ‘Scratch Celebrity’? Some people might be so desperate to be a ‘Scratch Celebrity’, that they make a project, create a new acount, and then just put an object on the refresh key, and they become a ‘Scratch Celebrity’ over night!

Nooooooooo!
Sorry, but I'm totally AGAINST this idea, strongly against.
There's a big problem with Scratch now, as an old user, I can say, too many people are looking for fames now.
If Scratch become another social network, I'll quit it, and I won't be the only one.
