Overrated games

What do you think are the most overrated games? If a game is overrated, it doesn't always mean it is a bad game, though.

Overrated games

I hope you know this is going probably turn into a really angry thread.

As for games I think are overrated…hard to say, really. I would say Ocarina of Time but it is a masterpiece nonetheless, I just get a little frustrated that it blinds a lot of people from other Zelda games like Wind Waker. i do think Link to the Past is a bit overrated though, I can appreciate what it did for the series, but I just don't find it fun. If I had to choose, it would probably be Pokémon Red and Blue, because they don't hold up too well gameplay-wise, and the designs are not the best. It's only overrated though because of Genwunners.

Oh, I knew I was forgetting something! Minecraft! It just gets really boring and it feels like a timewaster to me. In defense, some people may say that it gets updates often, but I say a good game shouldn't need to be updated constantly. It's also practically the new Pokémon for kids in my area, it's so annoying and they won't shut up about it!

I say Minecraft. It's broken in a lot of ways and has little depth to it. I constantly see it getting high scores all over, but I would say it deserves a 6/10 at best.

The Last Of Us. The game is good, but people are giving it some of the highest scores of this generation, something I don't think it deserves.

Mario Galaxy. I found it quite tedious and boring.

And Minecraft too. I'm sick of seeing it everywhere.

Overrated games

As much as I like playing Minecraft every once in a while with friends, I still find it to be extremely overrated. Most 9-11 year old kids that I know are absolutely obsessed with it and can't shut up, and usually these are players that have been playing since like 1.4, and haven't actually experienced the way Minecraft was, and when it was much more simple and easy to play. I find the player demographic to be annoying and the game mechanics too convoluted for its own good.

And no, I will not put up a flame shield, because if you disagree with my opinion, please state it politely and professionally. Don't be a flamer–flamers aren't cool.

I always found Ocarina of Time to be really overrated. I don't see what is so amazingly amazing about it. There are much better Zelda games (such as Wind Waker and Link to the Past).

As for Pokemon Red/Blue, I can't say it's “overrated”, per se, it's just that by today's standard it doesn't hold up. The gameplay mechanics are almost identical to the current generations, but the art and sprite design are dreadful, even for a Game Boy game. However, FireRed is much much better than the original for many good reasons, so I see that as a sort of save for Red being given an “overrated” label.

I highly agree with you.

But as I've said nearly a thousand times before, the same can't be said for Mother 3.

I actually like Earthbound a lot, but opinions are opinions. While I don't think I'd say it's quite “overrated” because there are still a fair amount of people who really hate it, I admit it cannot be called underrated anymore, because it's reached the point where there are a lot of people that like it. I would go ahead and say why I like Earthbound, but it's hard to put into words.

Though my hopes are up for Mother 3 to be even better because as much as I love Earthbound, the combat is bit lacking at times.

Not to mention that gen 1 was broken as heck. Psychic types were way too overpowered.

That's not necessarily a bad thing though, is it? Psychic and Dragon types still rule all.

Meh, I prefer dark types.

I just love my Zoroark and Houndoom.

Ok. Minecraft does have some pretty cool things you can do with red stone though.

Don't worry, I'm a professional idiot.

Angry Birds. It's only fun for a little bit, and then it gets really boring. The more recent games have been good, but the first 3 are just the same thing over and over again.

Angry Birds was fun until they started releasing more and more versions of it…

In 2018, I asked the Scratch Team to remove all my forum posts to protect my privacy. That's why this post is blank. Besides, I've outgrown this website, and I don't want the dumb things I said in my late tween/early teen years to follow me around for the rest of my life. This post probably wasn't anything interesting or important, anyway.

Yeah, R&B's still a good game, but it just dosent hold up today.

And yes, Ocarina Of Time is overrated.
