British stereotypes in the suggestions forum?
I've just seen my third stereotypical Brit post within this week. The most popular one is tea and the Queen. In one suggestion I read “YAY SCRATCH, LONG LIVE QUEEN ELIZABETH!”, in another I saw various ATers typing “*sips tea*”. Why has mentioning Brits in posts become popular?

Well I'm from England, and I don't do that. Don't know why other people are doing that. I've heard some people were also saying very sickening things on the forums. They were banned.

I didn't know people ended up getting banned though.

I think it was the fault of my British English suggestion because I was only suggesting British English language and then people were like hailing the British and stuff.
I guess we have to notify them.

To be honest, I'm OK with it (I even find it funny
), but some people who take offense easily at things may not.

I don't really have a problem with it. It may be slightly excessive, but it isn't causing any harm.

I live in Australia and we use British English

In one suggestion I read “YAY SCRATCH, LONG LIVE QUEEN ELIZABETH!”, in another I saw various ATers typing “*sips tea*”. Why has mentioning Brits in posts become popular?I've seen two in a week, but that's the first two I've ever seen as far as I can remember.

I'm (half) British. I don't like tea or Queen Elizabeth.
It's just because a lot of people find British culture pleasantly weird.

Cause ATers get off topic really fast.
Also because we Americans like making fun of British tea and football while throwing handeggs and eating burgers
Also because the British accent is funny/weird and because “u wot m8” is mlg

I don't like hamburgers. Nor do I like American football. *Stereotype b-b-b- Ohwaitnvm I live in ST, not America* xD
Stereotypes are fine as long as they're not insulting, IMO. And considering that you never know when a stereotype will be insulting, I personally think that they shouldn't be used unless they are British stereotypes, because British people normally don't mind jokes like that.
Wait lol I got nowhere.

You guys refuse to put an r after each vowel! You drive your kahs. And you think they're bettah than the Ameh-icans who don't want to insult you guys foh being the way that you ah, but that's just how you guys talk. And we want moh of it! British accents are supah funny!
I feel like it's a Boston accent without the a- in front of every verb (I went a-huntin', etc.).
I think it is more of a in the front of the mouth version than the back. Then again, Southern US English is good at dropping diphthongs. “Ah went to see mahself in deh mirror because Ah though' tah look'd han'sum. But now Ah dis-uhgree, and Ah look ver-ih uhglee. Fah-n by me.”

I just had too.

It's interesting to know what you guys really think about me. We did ‘invent’ English, ya know. :{
Perhaps I should close this before the ST do for being off-topic?
