The argument for a British English option isn't, and has never been, about not being able to understand American English. It's a quality of life feature; if you're arguing against necessity you're not arguing against the suggestion.
if everything we wanted was QOL we wouldn't have scratch
can we let ST actually work on important things instead like actual blocks and ngp
When did we claim that everything added to Scratch had to be QoL though or that everything we wanted was QoL? We're just saying that this would be helpful and would be QoL, even if not immediately added, and that it would be QoL, but we never said that everything added should be QoL or everything we wanted was QoL.

Sorry, Scratch doesn't allow multiple locales per language, e.g. US, vs UK vs Australia, vs …. We make exceptions for cases where the two versions are different enough that someone fluent in one may have trouble understanding the other, such as Brazilian Portuguese.

It takes additional resources (time and expense) to have additional languages in Scratch. So we avoid having regional variations of languages unless there are differences that make it hard for a speaker in one locale to understand the other. In the case of spelling differences like color and colour, folks generally don't have a problem still understanding the meaning of the block, so we wouldn't support having an English (UK) version of Scratch.
you could ask a mod if you thought this might have changed

We could really just do with an ST member giving a final verdict and closing the thread after so many years of this
