this is gonna be a hot take…

journeys is the worst Pokémon anime to me. By then Ash is pretty bad. He's been the main character for SO LONG. I guess I just got tired of him.

But, really…
Ash never ages. He stays the same. So he got boring. Just saying, THIS is one of the things Horizons fixed for me. In Horizons, the characters AGE. Their personality CHANGES. In the old anime, that never happened. So, it was boring. They also battled for basically no reason. The new characters don't CARE about being the strongest, the whole point of the new anime is for the main characters to stop the bad guys. Of course, there was team rocket in the old anime, but…
…that just wasn't the same, it wasn't the point of the anime. When it comes to the anime, I don't like seeing them trying to battle out to the top. I'd rather see them battling it out against bad guys. Besides, Team Rocket wasn't even that strong, so it was so stupid watching them battle.

Plus, Journeys was also bad because Ash and Goh were constantly fighting.

The new characters aren't so energetic, Roy aside, and I like that, to me, it's better that they're calm. They also never fight with each other, unless you count training with each other.

Plus, there are actually places that aren't in the games (Laqua) in Horizons, so that's another thing that makes it better to me.

I think USUM is at least top 3 on everyone’s anime list, probably next to X and Y and some random one.
