First request. My old one at Melodia never got completed because of the crisis, so I'd like to reoder here.

TheHockeyist wrote:

Three small art requests, all similar in nature and should be done quickly. I've not found any good textures for either Neptune's or Jupiter's rings, and so I'm asking for them to be reproduced. Uranus's are also somehow strangely impossible to get hold of, so I'm asking you guys to make some textures for me. Please read everything carefully. Do not give any distances or ring names in the image. All I want is a raw image of the rings themselves. (NOTE: I'm not going to change the format here to match with the new official format, it would take too much work…)

Type of Art: Texture PNG.
Delivery: No strict deadline.
Color: Mostly black, some lines of white.
Form: Vector is preferred, but I have no preference. It is not that important here.
Effects: Not much.
Miscellaneous: Below are the specifics. The color is always black unless there is a ring there.

Task 1 (Neptune): The rings here should all be depicted as white and varying shades of gray depending on the brightness. Begin at 40000 km - the left end of the image. A faint ring (Galle), almost invisible and should barely be seen (only visible if you look very hard), stretches from 40900-42900 km. The second ring (Le Verrier) is bright and visible - the brightest. It is centered around 53200 km and is 113 km wide. The third ring (Lassell) is as dim as the first, and starts jsut outside of this ring, continuing to the fourth. The fourth (Arago) is centered at 57200 km. It is perhaps better thought of as the slightly brighter end of the third ring. It appears more as an abrupt end to the third ring rather than an actual ring. The fifth (Adams) is slightly less bright than the second, but still very visible, at 62932 km distant and at its maximum, 50 km wide. The ring possesses five arcs - the brighter areas of the ring of more material. There are of equal thickness as the ring itself. The arcs taper off at the ends and merge with the rest of the ring. Where the bottom of the image is 0 degrees and the top is 360 degrees, the five arcs are in between 247-257 degrees (the brightest), 261-264 degrees, 256-266 degrees (the previous two are also very bright and visible), 276-280 degrees (this one is not as bright and quickly disappearing), and finally, the faintest one at 285 degrees, with a half-degree tolerance on either side. In recent years however, this last one jumped to 294 degrees and flaired in brightness. But it is now back to its normal dim brightness. The end of the image (right edge) should be at 64000 km.

Task 2 (Jupiter): This one should be a lot simpler. All of the rings here should be reddish, but only the Main Ring is confirmed to be red (the moons that orbit along the rings are also confirmed to be red, so it makes sense that the other rings should be red too). The beginning is at 90000 km. The first ring (Halo) is at 92000 to 122500 km. It is very faint, and might as well be invisible for our puposes - it does not show up well (or even at all), and can safely be ignored if you wish. The Main Ring (yes, that's its name) is the second and brightest. It is only from 122500 km to 129000 km. It is by far the brightest ring and the most visible. The next ring is the inner gossamer ring and is fainter and barely visible. It reaches from the Main Ring to 182000 km. The outer gossamer ring overlaps and is fainter still, stretching from the Main Ring to 226000 km. No rings arcs here or anything. The image ends at 228000 km.

Task 3 (Uranus): I will limit myself to the nine rings visible to Voyager 2. For some reason, a good texture is hard to get. So here you go. Inner edge at 40000 km. Rings are at (distance in km, maximum width of ring in km). The first three are the faintest. (41837, 2.2) (42234, 4.9) (42570, 4.4). These next two are rather bright, the second being slightly dimmer (both are about half as bright as the final, very bright ring - the brightest of them all). These two rings are at (44718, 10) (45661, 11.4). The next ring at (47175, 2.7) is as faint as the inner three, but slightly brighter. The next two fall somewhere in between the brightness of the previous and the two just inside of it, but a lot closer to the two inside. (47627, 4.7) (48300, 6.1). The last ring is by far the brightest and most visible of them all, at (51149, 96.4). It is maybe twice the brightness of the second-brightest ring - it clearly stands out. The outer edge of the image is at 52000 km.

Well, Haiming founded Melodia with his account, so it's really the same situation here.
