If you like to speedrun video games, then this is the place for you!!! Tell us what games you speedrun and what your PB is!
One game I currently speedrun is New Super Mario Bros. Wii any% (http://www.speedrun.com/new_super_mario_bros_wii#Any%25) and my time is 36 minutes and 4 seconds (Getting me 7th place in the world!!!). I also speedrun Mario Kart Wii no items (http://www.speedrun.com/mkw#32_Tracks_No_Items) and my time is 1 hour and 30 minutes and 4 seconds(I have not submitted my score yet!).
WHAT ARE YOUR TIMES???? Tell me below!!!

I'm speedrunning Super Mario Bros 3, and i've played for about 10 minutes total, and I've made it to World 8.

Thinking about getting into Portal 2 ss but I'm much too clumsy, haha. There's no way I'm getting under 2 hours early on.

Can't believe the wr is now like 1:04:xx that's crazy.

I think I could do the original silent hill (good ending) in a couple of hours, I forgot how fast though. It was on easy though. I could also finish Ratchet and Clank 3 in half a day on the harder settings (or that second-play mode thing), same goes for DMC3 (special edition or something like that) as Virgil on very-hard. I cant believe I used to be able finish that fast, I'd be lucky to even get a 5-hour record XD.

Does a week count in a speed run? If so, I beat all of X/Y's gym leaders without potions (Except on Viola because Surskit.) in a week. Never completed it though.

Any amount of time can be involved in a speed run. It's about finishing the game in the quickest time possible. It doesn't count if you didn't finish the game though and a week is really slow time, but once you finish, that will be your speed.

You don't know the difference between segmented and single-segment, do you? Of course the segmented time is faster.

Segmented is when you can save the game whenever you want, so you can save the game before a hard trick and reload it if you mess up, or pass the game off to a bunch of people. In the final time, loading screens and the messed-up attempts aren't counted. So yeah fastest segmented is 57:17 by the SourceRuns team and fastest single-segment is 1:04:01 by znernicus

I already understand the difference. I've been in to speedrunning for longer than I can remember.

To be a great speedrunner, you have to know the game you're playing inside and out. If you watch videos of people in YouTube, notice how they know exactly what they are doing, the best tactic to do it, and spend no time hesitating on their actions. Also, as iamunknown2 said, practice makes perfect!
