The Top Scratch Projects studio is a Scratch Supporter–made space that helps highlight projects that showcase creativity, fun, and the true joy of Scratch. While this studio is not directly run by the Scratch Team, it is designed to support them by celebrating great community projects.

All Scratchers can propose projects. Curators help by reviewing those proposals and adding appropriate projects to the studio.

Lots of Scratchers are interested in helping. This year, we would like to support the Scratch Team by trying a community-run curator system. We hope this plan allows more Scratchers to get involved and contribute in a positive way.

The basic idea:

• Every month, we will have a new set of curators
  

• Near the end of each month, we will make a post asking for volunteers to curate the following month
  

• At the beginning of the new month, previous curators may be rotated out and new ones added
  

• Scratchers are welcome to volunteer multiple times, including several months in a row
  
  

We will have our first new set of curators on Sunday, February 1st! We are looking for curators who are active Scratchers and who are friendly, respectful, and helpful in the community. If you would like to curate this studio (or continue curating if you are already a curator), please respond here before Sunday, February 1st.

If you become a curator, you will:

• Check studio comments for projects Scratchers would like to propose
  

• Make sure to check that the person proposing the project is…
  

- A Scratcher
- Not the creator of the project

• Make sure the project:
  

- Does not obviously break the Scratch Community Guidelines

• Is appropriate, creative, and positive
  

• Add the project to the studio if it meets these guidelines
  

• Reply to the comment to let the proposer know their project was added

PS: To apply as studio manager, you must have been a curator at least 3 times. Managers help by managing curators. Thank you once again!

Who will own the studio(you said it's not ran by Scratch Team)? What if they delete it?

The suggestions forum is meant for suggesting things that the Scratch Team themselves could do in order to improve Scratch. This suggestion doesn't really fit in very well since you're proposing that a Scratcher makes the studio. Perhaps this would be a better fit for the show and tell forum?

This studio is owned and managed by community Scratchers, not by the Scratch Team. When we say it is “not run by the Scratch Team,” we mean that the day-to-day curation and organization is handled by volunteers from the community.

That said, the studio still follows all Scratch Community Guidelines and site rules, just like any other studio. The Scratch Team always has the ability to moderate content anywhere on Scratch if something breaks the rules, but they do not normally delete studios that are being run responsibly and positively. Our goal is to support the Scratch Team, not replace them. If at any point the Scratch Team had concerns, we would fully respect their guidance and make changes as needed.
