Opt in and opt out for allowing scratch to use you to train AI
I feel that the ability to opt out is great it'll cause less people to get aggravated leading to less people leaving leading to less people having friends on the website leading to them leaving so on and so forth and it'll cause less people games to be ruthlessly stolen to let AI know how to code a plat former on a kids coding website not to mention thousands of people including myself have characters that have not been shown anywhere outside of scratch which leads to the chance of little kids characters being sold on a mug which is not a wanted thing. overall yes there should be an opt out button.this really confused me

Would opting out even really do anything? The AI is still learning anyway, and opting out would even hurt the environment more because the clanker has to “think” harder because it has less data, therefore using up more water.

Yeah, but people also don't want their art/code stolen. That's exactly my point! What code would CLA (which is short for “clanker” btw) learn with?

Guys, the ai is a problem yes. but, it may be just for helping with running the code smoother or smth.

Here's a lesson NOT EVERYONE IS THAT NICE!!!Please elaborate on why you think this would result in it being easier to steal people's work without credit?

you guys realize this AI Assistant makes it easier to steal peoples code and projects without asking them or having to give credit? How ya gonna fix that Scratch team??? Do you just gotta hope that people will be nice enough??? Here's a lesson NOT EVERYONE IS THAT NICE!!!While it does give the original owner of a project, so thankfully you can credit them, I only imagine it being on the wrong hands and that person stealing them, now if only if there was a way to opt out, the mods are gonna have a really hard time with this, considering the license new works as a Custom Creative Commons license without explicitly saying it in the terms of service (I won't dwell on it too much.)
Only the whole moderation team (or the whole scratch team from the looks of it) seems to have a say on this, since initially they were not aware about this update which still makes a huge impact of it itself. The mods are aware about it and are even leaning towards this suggestion. I'm not a business person, but having optimization from every part of your team and their concerns makes customers, it makes your business more trustworthy. This is also something missing from AI companies and big tech in particular, and why other more advanced coding websites for games (such as ones with Steam) are trusted by people because they care for the community. Considering Scratch is more of a non-profit organization and many schools trust it more than that one lego program, I'm pretty sure some schools will like to have this feature too to prevent plagiarism.Would opting out even really do anything? Support, first off they didn't ask anyone for consent for this which actually violates COPPA and secondly no one wants AI on scratch unless if it's a ChatGPT port

The only time I saw it was for fun in the forums, nothing serious. Second of all for the ChatGPT thing, that will violate most of school policy-Support, first off they didn't ask anyone for consent for this which actually violates COPPA and secondly no one wants AI on scratch unless if it's a ChatGPT porti dont think anyone wants chatgpt on scratch, period
so No-
Third of all: you wanna be Vegeta and you can't be Vegeta when you know I'm Vegeta
Speaking of the school thing, shouldn't schools also have this option when making classes? School accounts do exist just so you know but I wonder if that's a good option.
