none of the tribes are particularly bad off in this, except maybe the skywings, because they have huge wingspans and that's about it

But aren’t they also fast??
yeah, because of their wide wingspans, they fly the fastest out of any tribe. unfortunately for them, the wing membrane is super delicate and a dragon can't fly if their wing is damaged.
The skywings do have battle training. And if they have a dragon with fire scales then………….
SkyWing battle training is standardised and easy to learn, and there's at least five tribes with battle training already. Plus, firescales dragonets, anumis dragonets, and any other hereditary oddity are usually ko'ed upon hatching. They've purposefully gotten rid of their advantages.
It's been a minute since I've reread the books, but aren't animus dragons gone permanently?
so what happened is jerboa the younger cast an animus spell to prevent new animus from being born and to supress al other animus' powers, so yes. if some other, unknown animus had a talisman like Darkstalker then this would be impermanent.
she didn't stop them from being born. she just made all current Animus dragons lose their power. I like to think that they can still be born tho tbh

The recent snowstorm made me realize that WoF is the reason I know that snow isn't fluffy. In the 3rd book where Glory and Jambu were in the Ice Kingdom, Jambu thought the snow was soft. It wasn't. Mind you this was at least a year before I came to the US and actually saw snow.
I see snow like every winter.
I did not get snow er well… not yet… so hopefully soon
It's literally snowing right now for me

Hoping for a snow day. Snow here can be “fluffy”, but not soft or anything. It basically can't be packing snow
