This is a top secret thing about ai- but ai will take a few hundred trillion dollars to run, and they are not profitable (i am not trying to upset you, sorry if this is unclear).

It won't, all it'll take is our code. Without consent -and all the membership money-.

Which is why this suggestion is important, we should at least give people the option to stop making projects and avoid being stolen from.

Edit: I do agree that it isn't very profitable though, OpenAI is probs gonna go bankrupt by the grand 27'.

Honestly I think it’d be better if just they didn’t take any of our stuff. It’s glorified theft. There should 100% be an opt-out for ai training, it’s not fair to steal children’s creativity to leech off of it. They say it’s a safe space to be creative but they want to steal what we create.

I have a question; if Scratch knows our projects can be used to train AI, can they do anything to stop it? Are they forced to do it because there's legally nothing they can do without copyrighting everybody's projects, or are they just doing it because of that “Oh, we must stay up to date with the new technology!” feeling?

Yes I ABSOLUTELY agree that old projects should be protected from being used. This whole thing is making people majorly uncomfortable and I think that adding an old-project-protection would put a lot of people's minds at ease. (Including mine!)

ST can try! Maybe writing a letter to someone in control? And, not only ST has that power- any of us can. This new ai development is scary, yes, but we can help.

Aren't these discussion streams so that the st can change the TOS so that everyone feels comfortable when. Using scratch?
