Opt in and opt out for allowing scratch to use you to train AI
There should be an opt in and an opt out for the new ai. If you opt out, your projects, comments, etc won't be used to train the AI. If you opt in they will be. By default, it will be off.

Wait there's AI now?
Edit: I looked into it and yeah this is a good suggestion.

Big support. I do not want a work that I wrote to end up in an AI bot for training and I feel like thousands of Scratchers feel the same.

Opt in and opt out for allowing scratch to use you to train AI
One of the big ethical issues with the way current industry standards for AI are is the lack of being able to clearly opt out of AI having access to your things. You have to go through multiple settings to turn all of it off, and even then it still appears like they are leaving themselves loopholes to continue to access your stuff.
I know privacy is very important to me (and many others, I imagine) and a good way to show that Scratch does care about the data safety and privacy of its users would be to allow users to easily opt out of the CLA using their projects for training as well as not using AI to personalize project recommendations.

Yes please. Make *one* simple, easy-to-find button to say “No, I don't want you to use my projects to train AI”
Or better yet just don't do it at all? Please?

The problem is that AI companies are not really known for keeping to ethical and privacy-friendly standards.
If your work is found somewhere they will often simply crawl it and use it as data set.
In fact, in many forums, there have been cases where an AI crawler simply grabbed the forum by loading all pages and using them as data set without asking, which is just an example of what people we're selling stuff to here.

I heavily agree with being able to have a choice in this issue. Even if it would be difficult for scratch to craft where the AI would be unable to use your posts and art, it is still far better than having your community turn on you and boycott your website, which will probably happen if Scratch does something wrong in this issue.

Opt in and opt out for allowing scratch to use you to train AI
Scratch should have asked people before making such a desicion. I have already opted into this thinking it was some Child Protection Act law change or something (like it SAID), and I didn't read the TOS. Nor did thousands of other Scratchers. They clicked the link and trusted Scratch with their drawings, creativity, exc. Scratch should revoke the TOS change and accept that AI wouldn't be beneficial to the Scratch Community, but actually harmful. I am dissapointed in what Scratch Team has done. I will be unsharing all of my projects with a couple people so we can silently protest against this disgrace, and I hope Scratch Team realizes what they have done.

Opt in and opt out for allowing scratch to use you to train AI
I kind of been a little less active as of recently, so it's been a REALLY big shock that Scratch was doing this. Although, I guess it shouldn't be all that surprising. Scratch is trying to squeeze money out of the people aka the children that use their children's website targeted for children and constantly used by children on the daily because children like this children's website that is targeted for children and has been stated multiple times that this children's website is for CHILDREN (can we see the issue here?). The moment membership came around I already had a feeling they would end up digging a little lower.
Lo and behold, they dug lower.
While it's been very clear they barely even listen to the actually good suggestions on this forum, I feel as if this suggestion is THE most important out of just about every single suggestion ever suggested here. AI is not ethical. I mean, little at Twit- I-I mean… X….(such a stupid name bro :brokenheart
… The AI on that platform is being used for straight up evil and absolutely nothing is being done to stop these literal predators from preying on others. While, of course, Scratch's use of AI in this context doesn't necessarily mean generative AI, it's still AI. While I'm not against all AI, as there's different types, generative AI is a very huge issue that I think most of us that use the head on our shoulders can all shake hands and agree with. AI training is just as worse as generative AI because it feeds directly into generative AI and further allows corporations to keep running with it as far as they can go.
I am fully against this. I am severely disappointed that they went this route, even if it's unavoidable. As an artist, this is an insult to not only myself, but to the whole purpose of this website and everyone in it. It leeches off the creativity of others so it can be exploited for no good reason. Not to mention, this is a children's website where there are children. I can't stress enough how the main demographic is kids. Exposing kids to AI like this is literally bad for their brains. There is SCIENCE behind it.
Next thing you know, they aren't just training the AI, they're implementing it. It'll go from some useless assistant to a chatbot. Then it'll be image generation before you know it. “But it's rejected!” You say, but Scratch has already proven to be no stranger to breaking their own suggestions. What they're doing is only going to get worse from here.

I agree.
It would make sense if having this turned off would make the CLA inaccessible, but I don't know if it's that big of an issue.

Support! I mostly think Scratch can function without AI; maaaybe a bit of an assistant but as long as it's text-only. I've had my own coding troubles and I'm not sure about making some code actually workse, but I can always ask someone else for help. I'm not really sure why they're implementing this rn other than for the coding help as I know not everyone can reach out to others. I still want to have a choice of opting out of training though,,.

Man, at this point we need to go back to 2.0. There is such a thing named Ruffle. It runs flash adobe swf files such as henry stickmen games or for Instance, Scratch 2.0.

I absolutely agree. Artists on scratch should not have to stop posting just because of the AI. It's honestly insane that wasn't implemented in the beginning.

I would definitely like this suggestion being implemented into Scratch. Opting out of training AI is a choice that we should be able to make.
