the funny thing is, this is more fuel to the fire that is satch. That's besides the pointAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! This is the end of Scratch!I thought they said the same thing when people say the moderation was “AI” without providing a source to prove that.
they need to undo this to #bringbackoldscratchcat.
it looks horrible on most profile pictures anyway, both the badges and the ears. they didn't even change the profile picture for @scratchteam

I feel like this new update falls under a rejected suggestionI agree (Giving benefits to the rank), but I also strongly disagree (there is no Member rank)

They will not remove it because you have already paid for it, and if i'm not mistaken (I did not read their license) then they will have to give a refund, which they won't do because of how much effort will be put into it. IF YOU ARE A SCRATCH TEAM MEMBER, I WOULD LIKE IF YOU ANSWER MY QUESTION

So Paddle didn't answer so I'm guessing Cheddar will?
I doubt Cosmo and LittleGreyCells will respond to this topic.

This is ridiculous:

I literally clicked on this because I saw the Member tag that stands out like a pen mark on white paper. This is way too far. This tag is basically saying, “Come check out Zuhair12345's suggestion! It's more important than the other ones here!” That's not fair! The Scratch Membership is a great idea (though it sure did look like a new paid tier for Scratch to me at first) but promoting Scratchers like this is just not right. The Scratch Team has made it so that Scratchers can pay to get their voice heard on the website through the membership. This isn't right. This was uncalled for. This is the wrong way to go about getting new members. The perks were supposed to be optional, and I would've assumed they meant all of the perks.

What if everyone on Scratch just collectively decided that the membership was lame, and to shame people for buying it

Like this just looks bad

I just thought of another piece of criticism: People who are new to the website will also misunderstand the meaning of “member”, they will think it means that the user is a part of the Scratch Team or someone who works on the site/scratch itself and so then again “are more likely to check their profile”.As someone with the Membership, I'm going to say this is somewhat true. I'm not sure they think I'm a Scratch Team member, but for some reason people keep following me.
I've gained more followers in this day than I have per the other days. It's so ridiculous that you can gain followers over this.

I think all three badges (cat ears, profile page icon, and Member tag) should replaced with the following:

Can we all agree on this? This shares with the public that the user is a member, but doesn't scream it everywhere they go.

What if everyone on Scratch just collectively decided that the membership was lame, and to shame people for buying itWell I have to wonder what Mitchel Resnick thinks of the Scratch Membership after all he did say this:
Dear Friends,
When we launched Scratch 18 years ago, our goal was to create a space where children could learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. We designed a new type of programming language and also a new type of online community, so that young people could create and share projects based on their interests – and learn new skills in the process.
Today, Scratch has reached a scale we never imagined, expanding learning opportunities for millions of young people around the world. As we look ahead, the Scratch Foundation is now squarely focused on building a sustainable organization, so that we can continue to evolve the platform, support the community, and keep Scratch free forever.
As new artificial intelligence technologies proliferate through society, it is becoming more important than ever for young people to develop the most human of their abilities – their creativity, curiosity, and empathy – so that they can deal creatively, thoughtfully, and collectively with the challenges of a fast-changing world. We are now developing a new generation of Scratch, called Scratch 4.0, that integrates generative AI into the Scratch platform in ways that will support (not replace) young people’s creativity.
At the same time, we are building a sustainable non-profit infrastructure that will blend philanthropic partnerships, licensing, and mission-driven earned-revenue strategies to support our dramatic growth and ensure that millions of young people can continue to create, connect, and learn on our free Scratch platform.

Yeah, I feel like it's unfair to people who either don't want to get the membership or can't get the membership for whatever reason. This kinda strengthens the point we've been makingI just thought of another piece of criticism: People who are new to the website will also misunderstand the meaning of “member”, they will think it means that the user is a part of the Scratch Team or someone who works on the site/scratch itself and so then again “are more likely to check their profile”.As someone with the Membership, I'm going to say this is somewhat true. -snip-I think I found the solution to the ears being weird, you have a extension on while I don't and see scratchcat's ears perfectly fine, so the extenstion made the ears misplaced.

-snip-It's because he has an extension, it may be the reason why the ears are placed wrong.
