Formally Discourage Mini-Modding
Girl are we twinning? I was dealing with harassment from October 2024 - September 2025 and everytime I used Contact Us, they told me to use the report button, and nothing ever got done about my situation until I decided to bring it to the forums.I've actually experinced something like this before, I had to report an innapropriate trending project. And when that didn't work I used contact us, but they just told me to “use the report button”. Which I had already told them I did, twice in the message. They do read reports! How many times do I have to tell this story? I've been on Scratch for 5 years (since 2020). I've sent a total of 15 Contact Us emails by a quick search of my inbox. I've only ever gotten a response once, ONCE! And that response was just a copy-and-paste message that the Scratch Team commonly uses. And when I report messages and content here on Scratch, I end up having to get my friends to spam (not like mass-report, but just report and over and over) report it just to get the Scratch Team to at least look at my reports.
They did ban the project -two months later I think- but that was extremely dissapointing.
Even with this, I do think that the idea of someone mini modding and moderating rules that don't even matter is rediculous. And just like lot's of other things here, it should be more clear that it's not allowed.

The difference between advice and mini-modding is how you say it.
If someone necroposts, I notice people say “Do not necropost.”. That doesn't do anything other than repeat the rules. But if you say “You know this topic has been dead for a while, that's called necroposting”, that is a lot more useful to someone unaware of the rules, or why they are in place.
Mini-modding: Repeating the rules
Good advice: Explaining the rules

And yet, does not a citizen take someone to court? No that's just quoting, although you shouldn't be doing that because that's Paddle's job, not yours.Does a mini-mod also count as someone directly quoting moderators like Paddle2See's messages?

The difference between advice and mini-modding is how you say it.that still sounds abhorrently patronizing though

The difference between advice and mini-modding is how you say it.Hmm.. what about reminding people of rules? In grifftopia, we remind people that there is a daily ad limit, stated in the “What Im Working On” section of his profile. Some people don't know it exists, and some people forget.
