⬩➤ hello! my username is sketchedpixels, but please feel free to call me pix or azzy, whichever you prefer. I am an artist here on scratch, I've been on the site for about eight or nine years now. I enjoy reading, swing dancing and baking.

⬩➤ I've been a roleplayer for many years now, and it's almost been a year since I joined generations, actually! so far, I've had three characters: Sunlightsentinel, Waveblade ( my silly knight </3 ) and Calendulasnicker. Cal is my most recent character, and I absolutely adore them. ⬩➤ gender - as a young kit, Feather will identify as a cisgender male, using he / him pronouns. however, he will feel very early on that he doesn't feel masculine, and by the age of an apprentice, will likely become transfeminine with she / her pronouns. later on, Feather will choose to take up masculine pronouns once again, as well as neopronouns and her current ones, using ponder / she / he.

⬩➤ attraction - as a kit, of course, Feather will have no interest whatsoever in romantic relationships. eventually, however, he will come to decide that he has no particular preference, as he is more interested on getting to know cats on a deeper level before anything grows between them.

⬩➤ what is autism? - at its core, autism is a neurocognitive disorder which affects how someone interacts with others in social settings. unfortunately, there is a great amount of stigmatization and stereotyping when it comes to those with autism, leaving the disorder itself shrouded in misinformation. one of the biggest stereotypes about those with autism is that they are intellectually disabled. while there is a kernel of truth to this; autism does generally correlate with a lower IQ score; this is not the entire truth. there are plenty of autistic people who are perfectly capable, and function well in the general population.
it is worth noting that autism spectrum disorder, like a multitude of other mental disorders, exists on a sort of sliding scale. no two people will act the same, nor will every autistic person will exhibit all of the behaviors I mention below.
so, knowing this, then what is true about those with autism? simply put, they do not think in ways that a neurotypical individual would. this can be seen in a number of ways. for instance, autistic individuals often seem aloof, or emotionally detached to their peers. this occurs for a number of reasons; school-aged or younger individuals with autism often prefer to play by themselves, and in many cases struggle with eye contact. autistic individuals frequently engage in repetitive behaviors as well; they have a tendency to prefer schedules over simply seeing where the day will lead, and often hyper focus on certain objects which can be viewed as sources of comfort.
those with autism often have auditory differences in the way they speak. for instance, their voice may hold a flat affect, and may engage in echolalia. this occurs when an autistic individual repeats phrases they have heard, however, there is often a mix-up in the pronoun usage, and speech is often delayed beyond an average point in conversational exchanges. ( example : an autistic individual may say , “ do you want a snack ? ” having heard it said to them, when in reality, they mean “ can I please have a snack . ” )

⬩➤ how will it affect Feather? - as a kit, Feather will be a bit slow in reacting, often replying to the words of another a few seconds longer than normal after a pause. he will also mix up pronoun usage, often exchanging “I” or “me” for “you”. as he matures, these tendencies will fade since he learns from those around him, but they will not entirely be gone. Feather will be slightly embarrassed about this, and may choose to speak less as a result.
he will also choose to spend time alone more frequently than others might choose. while other kits are playfighting or running around, he will choose to spend time holding leaves up to the sunlight to see the veins in the stem, finding the action of lifting the leaf to be soothing. Feather will also engage in some “self-stimulating” behaviors, such as scraping the ground with his claws or blinking rapidly.
Feather will also struggle to assign emotions to facial expressions ( example ; smiling equals happiness ) and will thus have a bit of a difficult time understanding the feelings of others. this is another thing that may shift as he ages simply because he will become more experienced in social interactions.
adding onto this, Feather will more than likely have a rigid daily routine that he adheres to. as a kit, if this routine is interrupted, he will begin to tear up and will appear anxious. as an adult, although he will be able to keep from crying, Feather will nonetheless grow agitated if someone interrupts him.
