You know for someone who doesn't play Sonic even I have to admit this is a pretty good idea for a game. I generally like the way it has been made and the uniqueness of it. Though the only part that feels a little weird to me is using Z to jump and not Space and/or Up but then again as I mentioned previously I have never played Sonic so who am I to judge.
Overall the so far of this game is great, I can't wait to see future parts of it!

Alr here is my review: The controls are good but to jump you have to use Z key which is kinda strange, the art is pretty good and there are only a few glitches, the entire game is “run to the right side of the map” so some extra gameplay features would have really helped, the boss at the end is VERY easy you just spam Z and you win, it would have really benefited from better AI. This is overall a pretty good game but it is weighed down by some glitches and the difficulty is a bit too easy.
But I've never played a sonic game so who am i to judge lol

The music was well picked, I enjoyed the music. The attention to detail in Magu's face is lots and he's very expressive. Like, when he's doing the skid animation, his mouth opens and the player art is great. The level art could be improved on and you could try to make the move set a little less like sonic and more like Magu, for example, you could add fire breathing or something different. Again, sometimes the player doesn't connect to loops when they go fast. The first boss battle was extremely easy, you just had to hold z and you could beat Lyric. When the game is fully released, these changes could make it a top scratch game.

The Scratch projects you mentioned showcase a significant progression in your use of the Scratch Sonic Engine.

Okay, I'm gonna type this as both: A Sonic Fangame dev/Hedgehog Engine modder (yes, the one used in real sonic games), and a teen who just wants cool games.
This game, right off the bat, is one of the best sonic scratch games out there. This, and Sonic 4 ep 3, are on par with Sonic Frenzy 1 and 2, definitely way better. A good story, lots of references, and well made into your version of Sonics world whole still farmilliar to us fans. The locations reflecting the story directly is a concept I miss from older sonic games, and I'm glad you incorporated it the way Sonic Workd Adventure did. The world and character building is really good too. The pacing kinda feels a bit too fast, but that's more of an issue eith short levels, cover that soon.
The music, again like world adventure, captures the vibe of the areas really well. The cutscenes music are also good picks, being calmer versions of level themes.
Now the fun part: the gameplay is almost perfect for a scratch game. Good momentum based physics, great sense of speed and flow, and the level design works really well with them. My only nitpick is that the player is a bit slippery, like slightly increase the time it takes to slow down, slightly decrease acceleration l, while still keeping his top speed. It'll do wonders. And idk ifvyou can fix this, but the collision is bugged. Not gamebreaking bugged like GSE, but more Jank like sonic frontiers. It isn't noticeable at times, but when it is, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Difficulty curve is also great, teaching players how to do things (subtle or not) then building on them is the best way to introduce mechanics. Tho I'm sure you'd benefit from tweaking the sections so that it isn't a problem for newer players. (That section in Holoska act 2 with the cloud+air dash is a good example). The boss fights are the weakest ones here. More or less the same thing. You should give them more attacks, maybe make some interesting like underwater fights or scrolling fights (like the metal sonic boss from my game).
Other than that. It's a great game, a great spiritual successor to Sonic 4 ep 3, and top 5 best Sonic games on the site for sure. It's not perfect, but what it does right is amazing. Im gonna be pursuing projects by Magu Team, maybe even offer some stuff here and there, might consider applying (if I don't form my own team, Gens team is temporary) I have high hopes for a scratch game after a while, last one was Sonic gemstone. I will be keeping up with the project!
