I agree that Terry would be the one to go for. Next on my list would be Greninja and then Ridley. If you want a heavyweight that's easy to learn, fun to play as, and good later on then choose Bowser or K Rool, but Ridley is fine too. I main Mario and meta Knight though, so if you wanna try those I would reccomend Here's <– a link to a matchup chart/tier list if you are interested in that.

chat i just cooked up a new custom stage minigame. I call it…

SPIKEBALL !!

Derived from smashketbal, the goal at it's core is to get the most KO's. Unlike smashketball, however, there are 3 “Players.” the competitors (human players), of course, but a 3rd controller for a kirby (the ball.) The ball will not be controlled whatsoever similar to golf in SSBU other than to position it in the center at the start. The arena uses wind to keep the ball afloat while also preventing scoring without a spike. In order to KO the kirby (or score,) you need to spike it on either side of the stage. There are walls and cannons for entry surrounding the arena, so this is the only way to score. At the end, the player who scored the most wins (indicated by KO's at end of battle) The two competitors, despite playing against each other, are placed on the same team in-game against the ball. This is to prevent the opponents attacking each other. The game has no time limit in stock mode. There is no specific stock requirement, as it just needs to be an odd number (to prevent the issue of ties.) Final Smash Meter is off. The smash ball, Metal Box, and Timer appear at a low frequency. The smash ball and Timer are meant to help rack up damage, while the Metal Box is meant to help you fall faster. Spirits are off. Handicap is off. Score Display can be turned on, but I don't recommend it.

None of those characters are amazing per say, but Terry is the best one out of the group.

It's hard to say considering that the original creative direction has left the game. But knowing Nintendo they're probably gonna try to make another one anyways
