Password Requirements
it likely doesn't need numbers. They just make the password harder to remember, and though they make it more complex, they do it less than just sheer length.~snip~And maybe a few numbers randomly placed between some of the words (could be chosen randomly) and then it could tell you to write it down so you remember it.
Maybe a “generate password” button which attaches together 5 random words from the English dictionary?
The goal of this system is to make easy to remember, strong passwords. A long password is a strong password; but numbers and special characters make it harder to remember. “19fiend77beanie12mouse96steel41rubbish” is harder to remember than fiendbeaniemousesteelrubbish.
Saying to write it down is probably a good idea, though
but kids can also forget long passwords like stealingrubberratbunniesmousehead is really confusing and hard to remember so if they write it down somewhere they can just log back in later right? wrong they can lose it in their house the lenght is the problem but so is for how long it is

Thats why there is a button when logging in that allows you to reset your password.it likely doesn't need numbers. They just make the password harder to remember, and though they make it more complex, they do it less than just sheer length.~snip~And maybe a few numbers randomly placed between some of the words (could be chosen randomly) and then it could tell you to write it down so you remember it.

Password Requirements
(Haven’t been here a while)personally, when i create passwords on any website, i make sure to:i'm a bit late to this, but am i the only one that has over 40 characters in my password?Make it 12 or more characters.why tho? why isn’t 8 or more letters/characters enough?
- have at least 20 characters
-have at least 4 numbers
- have at least 2 special keys
- have at least 1 capital letter
- doesn't have my name, birthday, or anything else personal about me
- is exclusive to that website (i haven't used that password anywhere else, but the website i'm using it on)
these are all of my (personal) requirements for making a password
Those are actually pretty good requirements because they all make it harder to guess, and combined they make a pretty strong password.
I’m surprised this is still going on tho

But what happens if you've already made your account with your password and your password doesn't fit these requirements?

I think a good Idea would be to add 2-step verification, so that even if someone guesses your password, they won’t be able to get it because they would have to have the security code that gets sent to your email in order to sign in.there's a topic for that right here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/291659/
actually yeah why scratch didn't add it yetI think a good Idea would be to add 2-step verification, so that even if someone guesses your password, they won’t be able to get it because they would have to have the security code that gets sent to your email in order to sign in.there's a topic for that right here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/291659/
