i think the account needs to atleast be active (be on scratch / playtime) for 12 hours, comment/like/favourite on a project and the deadline is a week. (verifying your email lets you comment)Interesting, but how would you know if an account was never “active”? An account has to have been logged in originally (unless its a class account), and so would it be considered active if, say, the owner, after creating it, sent a single comment, or stayed logged in for a week?No - I don't think that's how that works. If an account is totally unused (has created nothing on Scratch other than the account) - that's different from an account that has become inactive after being active for some period of time. I personally would not have an issue with removing accounts that had never been active.unused do not equal inactiveSure, but “unused” is a subset of “inactive.” As a result, “deleting unused accounts” is rejected since “deleting inactive accounts” is rejected.

I Support but, what if someone just makes private projects and nothing more, could there account be deletedThat still counts as “activity”, since the ST has access to unshared projects.

Okay, I know this is an old forum, but it's basically turned into an argument and people just trying to push it up, so I want to share my response here.
I think they should be deleting unused accounts under this criteria:
- they have done either nothing, or close to nothing (basically just like hearting 2 things)
- they have either not created any projects, or they have created only EMPTY projects. (projects with literally nothing in them besides the default stuff)
- their account is at least 10 months old
What do you think about this??

Okay, I know this is an old forum, but it's basically turned into an argument and people just trying to push it up, so I want to share my response here.1. loving 2 projects is a really small requirement so namesnipes could easily be created that pass the requirements not to be deleted. then only legitimate accounts would be deleted.

2. what if a legitimate user loves only 1 projects
additional point: what if there are teachers who create student accounts for a time in the future and then come back to find them deleted

I honestly see nothing wrong with this except for one thing - what if, for example, someone goes to a school and at the start of the school year the teacher tells everyone to “make accounts but not to touch them until the end of the year, when we will learn how to use Scratch”? Or, what if you found out about Scratch and made an account to remind yourself later, but you dont come back for a long period of time? Maybe they could send to your email 10 days before your account gets deleted, 5 days, and 1 day?

the problem with deleting accounts that do nothing ever is that it won't delete namesnipes because namesnipers are smart. they'll use each account for 1 comment, 1 love (or 2 as in above), making 1 project, etc.it's much worse if my old account @StickmanBacc999 got deleted because of inactivityIt would only get deleted if you did absolutley nothing ever.
the problem with deleting accounts that don't do enough is that it'll get too many legitimate accounts deleted, and not enough namesnipes. what if someone has their account deleted because the requirement is loving a project, and they didnt know how to do that? meanwhile, namesnipers love projects on all their namesnipes to prevent them from being deleted?
additional point: accounts are never truly deleted. they still exist, because the scratch team can restore them. take, for example, @you - going to you's followers page, you can see that the account still has followers, a profile picture, etc. all this data is kept, as well as other data. (but perhaps not all of it, maybe not personal data. im not a ST member so I don't know the specifics.) so, all of this means that deleting accounts that are unused wouldn't even save storage space.

I meant like just hearting 2 things as an example, I would say like hearting less than or only 20 projects. I know it would still be easy but it would be slightly more difficult than only 2 thingsOkay, I know this is an old forum, but it's basically turned into an argument and people just trying to push it up, so I want to share my response here.1. loving 2 projects is a really small requirement so namesnipes could easily be created that pass the requirements not to be deleted. then only legitimate accounts would be deleted.
