Suggestions for Development

Want to help expand this list? Here are some ideas:
  • ARM64 Scratch 1.4 for macOS (NuScratch is fine if you can get your hands on the 64-bit .image file, otherwise dump all the code and rebuild the image) (Squeak uses universal binaries so this shouldn't be an option, but if it is in the future go with ARM)
  • Scratch 2 that doesn't require Adobe Air (should probably use Electron using Ruffle and a web build of this- this should be a way to circumvent the white screen issue on macOS and a good opportunity to port Scratch 2 to an ARM64 app for the future macOS 27, which won't support Intel apps any longer, which is what Scratch 2 is.) I'm currently working on this!
  • Scratch 3 for Amazon Fire tablets (vague instructions on how to convert the Android version are located here)

Those are great, but I'm looking for a version that runs original unmodified Scratch 2 at its core, preferably one that comes with Ruffle so that Flash Player isn't required.

Here's a non official version of scratch 3 for Linux: https://flathub.org/en/apps/edu.mit.Scratch - it's slightly out of date though as the last update was 5 years ago!

Also, I know there's already a Linux version of scratch 1.4 in the list, but here's another one for arch Linux users: https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/scratch/

There's also the raspberry pi versions of scratch 1.4, 2 and 3, but most of those have been slightly modded and are not quite the same as vanilla scratch. I would include a link, but I think the only way I know is to download them from the pi's recommended software list in the operating system.

As you can probably tell, I'm very much a Linux user…

Bump
Totally didn't just bump a topic on the second page to get this one off the first page just so I could bump this.
