there is technically a workaround using large gradients and the reshape tool, but i support adding a slider as the workaround is complicated and not very known, and adding an opacity slider is very convenient and good for artyeah i only figured that out like 2 years ago
a slider is WAY easier for little kids to find
im surprised they havent added it already

Yes, browser extensions exist that add this, but not everyone has access to them (i.e. people using Scratch on a school computer), and you aren't allowed to mention the name of said browser extensions on the site.
This is something that would be very very helpful for a large number of users, and I fully support this suggestion.
