I think you underestimate the processing power of modern mobile devices. And ‘HD’ really isn't very high definition for modern screens anymore - the Iphone 8 has more pixels than there are in HD-resolution images, and that's 7 years old now.

I mean their could be a button in the editor called change ratio and it could change it to widescreen so that is IS supported but old project would sta compatible
