Redesign Zepto and Milli
Through emails and other means, ST has been teasing new sprites Zepto and Milli for scratch membership users.

A lot of users think that these sprites look off, and that's because they break from the preestablished art styles for both the metric prefix characters (pico, nano, giga, and tera), and the general scratch mascot art style (gobo, scratch cat, crab, etc) in a lot of offputing ways. Fortunately, they're not officially released yet (I think) so they might benefit from a redesign.
General Art Style
One aspect of the general art style that they break from a lot is the color usage. If you look at any scratch mascot's colors, you'll notice that they choose one (sometimes 2 if needed) color for the main theme of the sprite, and add detail with less notable colors like black, white grey. All of the other mascots in the picture follow this too, if you look at any of them you'll see they have 1 main color, and then a bunch of less saturated colors for the details. Milli (the orange one) has 2 main colors, orange and pink, along with the red in the cheeks, which really doesn't fit the art style. Zepto has the opposite problem, being almost exclusively one color. That may work for a simpler design like gobo's but it feels weird for one like the metric prefix mascots'.
The other main aspect is the use of detail in the sprites. All of the sprites feel simple enough that a small child could draw them, but still have a decent amount of detail. This can be seen in things like the way half of scratch cat's face is orange and the other half is white, and how Giga's hair wraps around her ears. No offense, but that level of detail isn't really noticeable here. Everything in both sprites is made up of large shapes with very little in the way of subtle detailing.
These problems really make them stick out like a sore thumb from the rest of the sprites in that style and may scare some users off from using them.
Metric Prefix Mascot Art Style
In addition to fitting in the art style described above, the metric prefix sprites (pico, nano, giga, tera) also have some conventions of their own that the sprites jarringly break from. Note: this does not include gobo or scratch cat. The most notable is the eyes, which are completely different for some reason. Their heads are also less big relative to their bodies compared to the originals. Their hair is also a lot less memorable. With the originals, you can tell that a lot of attention went into making their hair stand out, while in the new ones, their hair is kinda just mounds. They also lack the grey faces of the original. The weird coloring decisions and detail amounts also feel off, given how much the originals abided by them.
Also a smaller thing but the names break a pattern in the original, where they mirrored each other. Pico and Tera mirrored each other because Pico is 10^-12 and Tera is 10^12. Nano is 10^-9 and Giga is 10^9. However, Milli is 10^-3 and Zepto is 10^-21. I really don't know why they broke this, especially because pairs like Milli/Kilo, Peta/Femto, Exa/Atto, and Centi/Hecto work. It's just a mild annoyance though.
I haven't made any mockups of new ones, but feel free to.

Redesign Zepto and Milli
Their eyes are quite off.
Also all the previous Gobo's Friends have light faces.

Redesign Zepto and Milli
This is a minor nitpick, but Zepto looks a bit like….
Hmm, what does he look like?
I'd say he looks like:
…yeah. That's what he looks like.
This is mainly a nitpick, but did the Scratch Tema NOT consider how Zepto resembles a certain Sprunki character, and how having an official mascot resemble a blanket banned character, isn't ideal? Wouldn't that invite people to start talking about that blanket banned character(“Zepto looks like this Sprunki character”)?
I would put up a picture of the Sprunki character in question(so you can compare him to Zepto), but I'd be sounding redundant if I explained why I neglected to do that.
Hmm, what does he look like?
I'd say he looks like:
References to Sprunki are too intense for young children, and continuing to share content or references to Sprunki or other disallowed blah blah blah blah blah-
…yeah. That's what he looks like.

Redesign Zepto and Milli
To be honest, I don’t want Milli to be redesigned as milli looks unique and whimsical, but Zepto I feel like should definitely be redesigned because Zepto just scares me.

portalpower, I don’t know if you saw this but I didn’t see you mention it, so this thread is useful as many people put their stance and details on it https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/850872/

Also, these images came from emails. The Scratch membership page also had an image (not the scratch-www one [I think I read that they were replacing the about button in the navbar with a membership link], but the one on the scratchfoundation.org website)

Redesign Zepto and Milli
these mascots need a MAJOR redesign, milli looks like gobo, scratch cat, spr*nki, camman18, and a labubu got into a freak accident and merged, and zepto looks like a green c h u c k y doll version of a gobo-pico hybrid
the reason i spaced out “c h u c k y” is because i dont want to trip the filter

Redesign Zepto and Milli
Zepto needs one more urgently, just, fix them.
1. Zepto, just make his hair bigger and just, give him pupils instead of the half black half white things
2. milli looks cool, yet out of place
(this seems to be the general consensus)

“Sprunki” isn’t filtered.
But Id have to disagree with Milli. She doesn’t closely resemble a Sprunki(or an established Sprunki character) as much as Zepto.
Maybe the eyes kind of look like Sprunki, but that’s it. And like, half the art styles in the world would render eyes like that.
