No, users cannot use GIFs as their profile pictures on Scratch, regardless of their status as a “New Scratcher” or a “Scratcher” .

No, anyone can use an animated GIF as their profile picture on Scratch, provided it meets the technical requirements. There is no restriction based on being a “Scratcher” versus a “New Scratcher”.

A lot of people think new scrathcers cant have gifs. Heres what they cant do
They cant

1. Own a studio
   Make a studio
   Get cloud data
   Have a 10 second cooldown on comments and no 120 seconds on posts
   put images or links, instead it shows an error
   Can put signatures but they are limited, they dont own coloured text
   Shown projects on search

I know, but the Scratch Team doesn't hate you, the only users that the ST hate are people that don't read the Community Guidelines.

Be patient because it could take some time, one you become a Scratcher, you can create studios and use “Cloud Data”.

yeah here is my history of rule breaking

• 1: Chain links, WHY SCRATCH HATE CHAIN LINKS
  2: Advertising and teaching people how to play
  3: False banned for making exact copy of project and someone was scared that it was inappropriete (daddy tried feastables)
