1k intro!
- - -

I bet you’ll never guess what time it is. at the time of writing this, anyhow

If you guessed midnight a ramble-y, non-sensical 1k intro from yours truly, you’ve guessed correctly!

Howdy, hey, it’s Bea (she/her)! Your local void resident and one of Solarpunk’s co-leaders this session! This is my seventh session (somehow. Where does time go??? Illegal, it’s going by too fast) and I’m super excited to be here!

Anyways, some stuff about me, I suppose…

I’m a dancer, artist, and writer who sews and crochets things on the side. I’m also a master procrastinator who will forever have 19439201 billion WIPs going on at any one time. Occasionally, I dabble into animation and coding for fun and I’m also an avid reader!

Dance-wise, I do ballet, jazz, tap, and contemporary which means I’m sore all the time but it’s so worth it! Contemporary and jazz are my favorites of all time. There’s just so much you can do with them – contemporary especially, since you don’t have to conform to all the grace and flow that is ballet. But at the same time, you don’t necessarily have to stick to the sharp angles of jazz, either. You can be as formal and graceful or as loose and flowy as you want, and it’s so fun!

Improv is a whole other different story but that’s for another time! ;p

Tap and ballet are still fun, but they’re pretty challenging, too. They’re both a lot more specific and rigid (my opinion) than contemporary and jazz. Somehow it makes it both easier and harder than the two previously mentioned dances.

Dance is weird, okay?

But yes, I love, love, love dance a lot! It’s a core part of my being (Bea-ing???) if I’m being honest with myself. I really don’t know what I’d do without it!

Crochet is a more recent hobby of mine, and I like it a lot more than I was initially expecting. (Especially when I realized I had to do math. Not that I hate math, but! I was initially expecting it to be more mindless than that… still love it, though!) So far, I’ve made one (1) plushie. He’s an axolotl from a Woobles kit and he’s very much imperfect but I’m so proud of him. He’s named Strawberry, in case you were wondering.

I’ve also made a freehand potholder out of scrap yarn! Very fun mindless project. Whenever I happen to get my little gremlin hands on more yarn, I’m definitely going to make more. What am I going to do with all those potholders?

Uh—

—how about we go to the next item on the list!

Books! I’m an avid reader, and have too many favorites to have any one favorite. (There’s too many good books, okay?) So, I’ll just list a couple of my favorites so we don’t go on forever and ever.

Ranger’s Apprentice by John Flanagan. Probably one of my favorite book series of all time. I reread this thing all the time! It’s nearly impossible to find me away from one of its many books. It’s a longish series (definitely not as long as Warrior Cats though lol) but my favorite ever is probably the Tournament at Gorlan.

And then the Brotherband Chronicles (also by John Flanagan) is another favorite of mine! Also a very good series. In case you couldn’t tell, John Flanagan is one of my favorite authors of all time.

I do have several more recommendations, but if I shared them, this would turn into “book rec list” instead of “1k intro.” Tragic. Feel free to ask me about them, though! I’m happy to chat about literally anything. My profile (or chat project) is always open! I’m not scary, I promise.

And, in case you haven’t noticed, here’s a fun little fact about me: I’m a serial comma user (and also a parentheses over-user, too). Though, I’m sure you have noticed, whether in this intro or my random little comments around the main cabin, haha.

…. what do you mean I’m not at 1k words yet? I’m definitely at 1k words already, I dunno what my word counter is talking about. /silly

Anyhow, continuing my not quite 1k intro…

How about something I just realized I haven’t mentioned! Somehow, I’ve yet to mention volleyball. Shocking, considering it’s my favoritest sport ever (after dance, of course). I’ve never played competitively, only recreationally but! It’s so fun! (I hate setting though……… I’m not a setter, that’s for sure.) But yes, volleyball! One of my (many, many, many) favorite things! I’m surprised that I hadn’t mentioned it before.

… though, to be fair, I did write about half of this thing at midnight (and, yes, I did get some sleep after that, don’t worry! Bea is (usually) pretty good about listening to her body. By the way, drink some water if you’re reading this! Make sure to take care of yourself >:[)

And, another thing (can’t you tell I’m running out of ideas?) about me is that I love puns! I think they’re really humerus, tibia honest, they tickle my funny bone ;p

I specifically like bone puns, if you couldn’t tell haha. I like to patella some pretty bad jokes if I get the chance. Puns my beloved <3 But yeah, I love puns!!! They’re whimsical and silly, just like me ;D

And, some final fun facts about me to wrap this 1k intro up…

I’ve got a cat (her name is Pepper and she’s the best), my favorite color is purple (shocking, considering my PFP), my favorite band is Owl City (so many good songs, go listen to him!), and I’m an incredibly busy Bea! (Okay I’m sorry I always do that one but it’s really funny okay—)

Anyways! Thanks for reading this ramble-y, completely, totally and utterly non-sensical 1k intro! It was probably really confusing, sorry. I’m still figuring out the whole talking about myself thing, haha. Hope you see you all around this session! <3

1k intro
Hello! I’m Kit, pronouns she/her, a queer autistic teen who likes reading, drawing, writing (shocker), and spending time with my four cats. I reside in the timezone of CST, and I am a camper in Action (aka the best cabin). This will be my 13th session — I’ve been doing SWC since November 2021 (four years ago? That’s crazy).
I have been homeschooled my whole life, but this year I am taking an online community college class on cultural anthropology. The class is very interesting — I enjoy learning about human culture and society — but it’s also my first time having homework, which I’m being very whiny about. But at least now that it’s November, my homework assignments will count for points.
When not busy with that class, I enjoy learning about a variety of other subjects; some of my favorites are history and folklore. I particularly like learning about lesser-known historical figures, especially queer ones. As for folklore, my favorite parts are ghosts, monsters, and cryptids (creatures some claim exist but have not been proven by science, like bigfoot, Nessie, and the Mothman). This fall I went to a cryptid festival, which was fun.
Another interest of mine is literature, and I’ve been working on reading some classic lit. So far I’ve read Pride and Prejudice, Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, and Dracula, and I recently started The Mysteries of Udolpho. But I mostly read newer novels. Some of my favorites are The Real Boy by Anne Ursu, Nimona by ND Stevenson, Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, and We Are Okay by Nina LaCour.
I also love participating in various fandoms. I am a content moderator on She-Ra fandom wiki, where I work to ensure the articles are consistent and accurate and look over other users’ edits. I also write fanfiction and draw a lot of fanart. My main fandoms at the moment are She-Ra (of course), The Owl House, Percy Jackson/Riordanverse, and Welcome to Night Vale. I also love Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but I haven’t quite finished the show yet. My favorite She-Ra character is Scorpia, and my favorite Buffy characters are Spike and Tara.
Besides fanfiction, I mostly write fantasy, but occasionally some contemporary fiction as well. I’ve told stories for as long as I can remember, but I only really started writing during quarantine in 2020. I joined Scratch in 2021 and was active in a lot of writing studios, and at some point I stumbled across SWC. My first session was a blast (Adventure November ‘21 my beloved), and I’ve been doing it ever since. I’ve co-led three times now, in addition to my many sessions as a camper.
On the rare occasion that I leave my house, I enjoy going to concerts. I’ve seen some very cool local bands, as well as my favorite band, The Linda Lindas. Some of my other favorite bands and music artists are The Go-Go’s, Allegra Hernandez, and girl in red. My favorite genres are punk and indie rock and pop, though I’m trying to listen to a wider range of music.
And now I have reached the point in my one thousand word intro where I struggle to think of more things to say, as I always do. It is likely to get more rambly after this. You have been warned.
Or perhaps it will get more interesting now that I am not just listing things I like. Unless I find some more lists to make…
I mentioned I like learning about different things. Well, one of the main ways I do that is just by watching videos about things that sound interesting. My current favorite channels are Kaz Rowe, PBS Storied, and Overly Sarcastic Productions. See, I knew I’d find more likes to list.
I occasionally do things besides SWC on Scratch. My Scratch social life revolves around SWC at this point, but I also use it to make projects, mostly simple games and animations. My most recent project is a “What Dracula character are you?” quiz (I got Mina, which is nice because she’s my favorite), and some of my favorite projects I’ve made are a random scenario generator and a series of She-Ra dress up games. I have another dress up game in the works, though I’m working on it very slowly since I’m busy with other stuff.
As I said at the start, I’ve been doing SWC since November 2021. I am apparently SWC-old now, and you may catch me reminiscing about the good old days in the main cabin comments. My favorite session is still that first one, maybe just because it was my first — it was the most special. I also wrote more words that session than I have in any later one: over 40k, if I remember correctly. This was thanks in part to the Survivalist Journal, an Adventure cabin activity where you wrote a journal entry from the perspective of a character based on daily prompts.
Throughout my many sessions, I’ve witnessed a lot of SWChaos. Some of my fondest memories are of the Myth/Thriller rivalry of July ‘22; Luna breaking the multiverse; Dora the Explorer; Eevee and Waterfall's adding wars; guitars; and many more. I’ve also enjoyed some more recent chaos, like the Kevin controversy (#uncensorkevin). And yet even though Kevin came from a “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” reference, no one wrote a whole song parody about him. Some of you young’uns must not know about the SWC parodies, from… 2022? There’s a whole studio dedicated to them, SWC-themed parodies of various songs, including “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” (we don’t talk about cabin wars, no, no!).
Only another sixty or so words to go? Great! After this I’ll have to work on my essay for anthropology class, oh, and my character for Action… I’m going to be busy this month; it’s my first time having to juggle SWC and schoolwork. Wish me luck. But despite that, this should still be a fun session! Action for the win!

Surf's 1k Intro (1015 words)

Hi everyone! I’m Surf, a high-schooler in the EST timezone who’s co-leading Real-Fi this session! I use they/she pronouns and this is my seventh session of SWC. Along with writing, some of my hobbies are making art, reading, and learning about science! I’ve been on Scratch for eight and a half years, which is actually crazy??

Of course, I like to write. While I generally write sci-fi, fantasy or dystopian, I also enjoy writing real-fi, nonfiction, and even some poetry in free verse. For the past two Novembers, I did the NaNoWriMo challenge. Unfortunately, I’m a lot busier this fall so I don’t have time to write a full-blown novel draft since junior year is crazy. That being said, this session I’m focusing on writing shorter stories, experimenting with different genres and expanding my writing portfolio. I’m also working on improving my skills at revising, and another one of my goals is to submit short stories and essays for writing contests this month!

I love to read! I enjoy a lot of different genres–sci-fi, fantasy, dystopian, mystery, and nonfiction. So far, I’ve read 188 books in 2025, and I’m hoping to reach 200! Out of everything I’ve read this year, my favorites have been Hyperion, A Morbid Taste for Bones, The Boys in the Boat, The Will of the Many, and Fourth Wing. I’ve also re-read a few books since I’ve started listening to the audiobooks of books I’ve read before and really enjoyed. I’m a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson and Andy Weir, and some of my other favorite series are All Systems Red and Six of Crows. I’m always looking for new recommendations, so feel free to share or ask for any <3

Science is my favorite subject. I like geology the most, and I really want to study earth science or geobiochemistry in college. I also enjoy learning about molecular biology and chemistry, and I’m actually taking both organic chemistry and AP chemistry right now in school. I’m also a member of both my school’s science bowl club and quiz bowl team, and it’s a lot of fun to go to competitions! I also do the science fair every year, and I need to start planning my project soon–I really want to do a project related to geology this year, and I think I have a lot of experience so I’m hoping to enter a regional fair.

Art is another one of my hobbies, and I’m working on a mural at my school this year with some friends, which is exciting! I tend not to have a lot of time to make art, but I’ve been working to find time this year. I like to make collages and draw both digitally and traditionally, and I recently started painting last spring.

I’m taking four APs this year, so I have a pretty heavy schoolwork load (math is pain and suffering), though it’s definitely getting easier to manage as the year goes on since tennis season’s ended. I got to play first doubles on varsity this year, which was awesome! I play tennis year-round, and I love being able to have a sport that I can play with my grandparents and the rest of my family.

My least favorite subject is math (shocking) since my teacher doesn’t teach very well so I’m essentially stuck learning Calculus BC on my own . I like my Lit class too, and Chemistry is difficult and time-consuming but overall not as bad as I expected? I prefer world history and ancient history over US history, but I really like that class since I have a really good teacher.

I don’t speak a language other than English fluently, though I’m learning Spanish in school and can write and read it pretty well. I read the news each morning in Spanish, and I’ve been working on a longer chapter book that I hope I can finish up this year. On my languages-to-learn bucket list is Korean and ASL–I find languages really interesting, especially in relation to worldbuilding, which is definitely one of my favorite parts of writing.

I like baking and cooking (I bake more often than I cook, because sweet things are tastier), and I save interesting recipes often. Then I test them out, usually causing some sort of fiasco in the kitchen. Most notably, I’ve successfully turned a seven-layer cake into a one-layer cake, made a very flour-y and somewhat unmixed make-in-the-pan cake, and set the oven on fire when my cinnamon rolls leaked out of the bottom of a springform pan. Usually I don’t cause too much damage, and I’m hoping to set more time aside to bake on the weekends this fall.

In honor of the session theme, something fun I did this autumn was going apple picking! It’s my favorite fall activity by far, since I love apples and they’re also great to bake with.

My music interests are pretty diverse! Some of the artists I like include Twenty One Pilots, Hozier, Gigi Perez, Imagine Dragons, and Of Monsters and Men, though I’m not very picky about what genres I listen to.

I love to be outdoors! I’ve been going hiking a lot recently, and I’ve been able to do a lot of volunteering with environmental projects, which has been great. Some nature-related activities I like are camping, backpacking, and rock scrambling! I’ve gone on a backpacking trip locally before and I’ve always wanted to hike the Appalachian trail–maybe the entire thing–though it would definitely be a huge project.

I recently got new bookshelves installed in my room! Now they stretch an entire wall, and there’s a cute window seat in the middle. I’ve been experimenting with different ways to organize it, and so far, I’ve been putting the books in rainbow order and it looks cool

This is my fourth time (co)leading–I was a leader back in July ‘25 and I co-lead this past March and November! I’m really glad to be co-leading Real-Fi this session since it’s such an epic cabin and Snowy and Recca are awesome <3

And that’s 1k!

SWC Megathread ࿔*:☘︎・ November 2025

It’s SWC intro season again, which means it’s time to write a thousand words about myself and pretend I didn’t procrastinate this until five minutes ago. You’d think I’d be good at this by now, but somehow every time I open a new doc, my brain just goes: “You? Writing about yourself? With structure? Funny.”

Hi, I’m Asha. I’m 12 years old, I live in Britain, and I’m a very chaotic mixture of a book-obsessed reader, dramatic writer, sporty gremlin, violinist, guitarist, and frying pan–wielding general. Yes, that last one is real. No, I will not be elaborating yet. You’ll see.

Let’s begin with the basics: I read constantly. I devour books. I read on the bus, in the car, during meals (if I can get away with it), and sometimes while walking around the house like a cursed Victorian ghost. I read for fun, for drama, for the thrill of a plot twist so good it makes me drop the book. My favourite genres? Murder mystery (the twistier the better), fantasy (with dragons or magical swords, preferably), romantasy (because love + danger = elite), mythology (Greek, Norse, Egyptian, you name it), horror (emotional trauma + creepy vibes = yes), and classics (I love the drama, okay?). I don’t judge books by their covers—but I will analyse a sentence until I’ve emotionally attached myself to a comma.

Because reading about chaos wasn’t enough, I also write it. A lot. Like, a lot. I write fantasy with too many kingdoms and not enough peace, murder mysteries with unreliable narrators, romantasy with people falling in love at the absolute worst possible time, horror where the house might eat you, and myth-inspired plots where the gods are petty and someone is definitely cursed. I do not outline. I dive in headfirst and figure it out later. My stories usually involve betrayal, swords, dramatic cliffhangers, and a character making terrible choices while I cheer them on like, “Yes, suffer. Good.”

Now, aside from destroying fictional lives, I’m also very into sports. I play volleyball, netball, and badminton, and if there’s a ball involved, I’m probably chasing it. I can’t sit still for long unless I’m reading, so sports are kind of my way of keeping my brain from exploding. I’m competitive, fast, and the kind of person who will dramatically dive for a ball just because it feels cool. Whether I’m smashing a shuttlecock or serving in volleyball, I’m all in, no half-effort. The chaos on the court matches the chaos in my brain, and I like it that way.

Musically, I play violin and guitar .Violin is dramatic and beautiful and very screechy when it wants to be, but I love it. I like the challenge, the intensity, and the feeling when you finally get something just right. Then there’s guitar, which is my band instrument and honestly kind of my “chill instrument,” even though I still make everything dramatic. Together, they make a nice balance. One classical, one casual. One makes people cry, one makes people vibe. Both feel like home.

Now. Let’s talk about the Frying Pan Army.

Yes, it’s real. Yes, I co-lead it. March’25 SWC on Scratch, me and Kat (one of the only other people as dangerously unhinged as me, in the best possible way) created it in a blur of creative madness. We are the frying pan sisters. We founded the Frying Pan Army to defend chaos, fight plot holes, and smack fictional villains with metaphorical cookware. The army lives on—through memes, dramatic yelling, mid-sprint speeches, and the occasional battle cry of “PAN POWER!” If you know, you know. And if you don’t, don’t worry—you’ll learn quickly.

I’d describe my personality as “chaotic but determined.” I’m the type to start a new writing project at midnight with no plot. I take on way too many hobbies and wonder why I have no time. I’ll spend ten minutes colour-coding a document and then forget to save it. I’m the friend who shows up with snacks, ten conspiracy theories about a book ending, and a sudden need to rewrite everything I’ve ever written. I’m not always organised, but I am passionate. I don’t give up easily, even when my plot breaks, my badminton shots miss, and my violin screeches like a banshee. I like a challenge—and I tend to fight it with the enthusiasm of someone holding a frying pan and no fear.

Here are some Rapid Asha Facts just to round things out:

I read fast, write faster, and panic-revise at the speed of light
I’m probably thinking about a fictional character right now
I once spent an entire game of netball mentally plotting a murder scene (fictional. obviously)
I have six half-filled notebooks and zero memory of what’s in them
I once nearly walked into a wall reading fantasy at full speed
I hoard story ideas like a dragon with a glitter pen
I would rather write a 40k novel than clean my room
I have no chill, but I do have a battle strategy
If we end up in the same cabin this SWC, consider yourself warned. I will probably talk about plot twists too loudly, bring up some weird mythology fact, suggest writing sprints at absurd hours, and start Frying Pan Army meetings mid-conversation. I’ll share snacks, share book recs, and maybe scream about character deaths if it’s been a long writing day.

So yeah. That’s me.

Asha. 12. Bookworm. Writer. Violinist. Guitarist. Volleyball player. Netball enthusiast. Badminton champion (okay, maybe not champion, but still). Frying Pan Army sister. Chaos in human form. Slightly unhinged in the best way. Always reading. Always plotting. Always ready to fight a metaphorical dragon—or an actual one, depending on the genre.

Let the SWC chaos begin.

Vi’s 1k Intro ( 1009 words)

Hi! This is my first time here at SCW! So… I have no idea what I'm doing. I’m just trying to glide along and figure as much out as I can! So tell me if im doing anything wrong ;-;

So here’s a bit more about me. My name is Violet, but here I go by Vi. My pronouns are she/her and I think I’m straight… probably. Maybe. We’ll see. I have two cats, one named Cory who's a big fat orange tabby and his sister, whose name is Topanga, is a soft calico cat who loves to be outside. Neither of my cats like me very much. I also have four chickens, (who the cats are very afraid of), and we’re going to get some more next year! My chickens are named Goldy, Blacky, Furball, and Red Feather the Survivor.

Red Feather the Survivor was one of our first chickens. We had just gotten six little chicks, Red Feather being one of them, and we had to go on a trip. We set them up in our laundry room with a heat lamp and enough food and water to last the two days we’d be gone.

Unfortunately… When we came back, we found that we’d accidentally set the heat lamp too high and most of them, overheated, and uh… yeah. Kinda traumatized little me. Luckily, Red Feather was still alive so we nursed her back to good health and she’s doing pretty well now! After that, we got three more chicks and they’ve been with us four two years now.

I have loved reading for as long as I can remember, and some of my favorite books are anything from the Cosmere, specifically Elantris and the Stormlight Archive, The Heroes Guide Series, Amari and the Night Brothers, and more! I started writing about four years ago, when I wrote a terrible story with my friend, but it doesn't matter how bad it was since it got me writing! I think it was like seventy google docs pages with a large-ish font. So… yeah. Anyway, since then, I’ve written a lot of short stories and, like, first chapter stuff. But this month I’m going to try to write a continued story!

My favorite genre is fantasy, but not in the… traditional sense I guess. I like stories with magic, and stories that are usually set in more medieval times, but I don't like to read or write stories with ogres, trolls, dragons, elves, etc. There are exceptions, of course, but it's just not my favorite. I also really enjoy realistic fiction (My cabin by the way!) and I’ve been reading more and more of that.

Some other things I enjoy doing besides writing are drawing, organizing stuff, and Taekwondo. If you didn't know, Taekwondo is a form of Martial Arts, that is mostly for self-defense and learning discipline and stuff. Currently I’m a black belt, and I’m going to test for my second degree black belt soon! Yay! Exciting! Not really, it's stressful actually.

Anyway— I also listen to a lot of music. I tend to listen to a lot of musicals, including The 36 Questions, Six the Musical, Newsies, Epic the Musical, The Greatest Showman, and some others :3 I have two main favorite artists I like, Taylor Swift and Alec Benjamin. I absolutely loved the Life of a Showgirl and Alec Benjamin recently came out with a song called ‘Pretending’ that I have been listening to on repeat.

I also tend to get obsessed with different shows every once in a while. The first show I had a real obsession with was Rapunzel's Tangled Adventures (AKA Tangled the Series). I know it sounds dumb and at some points it is but it's actually really good and I am way too obsessed with Varian for my own good. After that it was The Amazing Digital Circus and Murder Drones, then it was Heartstopper and the list just goes on and on.

One notable thing that happens when I get obsessed with a show is that I make a google slideshow about it. Generally this is a slideshow of around one hundred slides with fanart or clips of the show. My drive is mostly filled with this and I don't regret it one bit, but I do get teased a lot for it by my friends.

Another thing I get teased for is that my favorite place to write, do homework, or hangout is the indoor pool or rec center. I love the humid air and sound of water and people chattering and it really helps me focus. That’s actually where I’m writing this right now!

For a while, I couldn’t decide what my favorite season was. You see, they all kinda suck. Summer is too hot, and I find myself lazing around in a sort of depression with nothing productive to do. I need some sort of schedule and work to feel happy. Winter, well, Winter is too cold and I kind of like, hate snow. I think it can look pretty but it's not my ideal vibe and so I really, really dislike it. I don't like sledding or skiing or snowball fights so it's not my thing.

Now, I live in a very interesting place for weather. One hour it’s snowing and the next it's completely clear with the Sun shining down. This comes out especially in the Spring, and it's never just good weather. The only option left then is Fall, and while I really love the vibes, it's still too cold. I guess I just hate weather. Anyway, I think I’ve decided on fall, purely for the aesthetic and clothes you get to wear.

Wow, I ranted about weather wayyyyy too long. I’ve almost hit one thousand so I’ll start wrapping up I guess. During this whole thing, my ‘h’ key has been really not working so I have to press it down really hard every time. That's not really important though. Anyway, thanks for reading this and I can’t wait for tomorrow’s daily!

Hello! It's time for the 1k intro again!! I've participated in this tradition, bar Julys because I"m device free most July 1st, since its conception, and, last session, I did 2! 1k intros. Might go for 3 today, but, at the time of writing, I am on a field trip right now…

Greetings monarchs, mortals, mothers, and the like! I bear different names, but the ones you should be made aware of are Eevee and Elynn. A singular one knows me as ‘Tall Blonde Woman’, but that's just my disguise. I'm really a Korean-American girl living in—

Hey! No doxxing here!

Yep. Internet safety, y'all.

—living in Everlasting Dora Time!

(Ending tomorrow… EST and an extra hour of sleep ahead!!)

She/her pronouns, neurodivergent, fandom lover…

But let's get into my SWC participation because that's why we are all here! (Yeah, it's boring and repetitive, but we can garner a lot of words)

Session 1: Horror March 21

I was a backup camper! Cara, Bailey, and CJ (Not CeeJay CJ, this one's older) were my leaders. It was in this cabin that I learned about what SWC is, the ins-and-outs, from the before the time of Birdi or Robin hosting. We're also kind of infamous for our loooooong post-session roleplaying ‘Horror: Revenge Against Hosts’ ft. me as grammar police This solidified my love for this community and I continue to write HRAH fanfiction to this day. One can never write too many SWC fics of SWC fics from the POV of a cow.

Session 2: Sci-Fi Nov 21

My competitive spark really came to light in the battle between Sci-fi and Adventure~ We had aliens, we had 100k+ writers, we had plotting for cabin wars and hidden requests. (kids don't plan with other cabins on which specific wars you want. that is not allowed anymore!!) And we won!! Well, tied, but that's a technicality… This session showed me what was possible with an active cabin and a flaming spirit.

Session 3: Contemp March 22

First session on the leader team, you guys… SO grateful for Daisy inviting me to be on the Contemp leader team. This session was absolute chaos and I got front row seats as Marc Mangoson was born. This session showed me what it means to be a cabin leader and all of the duties that are involved. Becoming a co is one of the best thing that happened to me and it changed teh way that I view SWC. I also joined the MBC for the first time.

Session 4: Real-fi July ‘22

My first July session!! The vibes and aesthetic for this session was one of my favorites- I even have a journal spread based on it!! Real-fi Restaurant is iconic and I like to bring it up in my SWC fics~ Unfortunately, Ilya kind of became the only leader because the others went inactive oop- This session showed me what can be done in cabins, as far as involving SWC lore and inside jokes in the cabin activities. Like come onnnn Neon Horror Noodles and Zai’s Lasagna? Yes.

Session 5: Poery July ‘23

Wow… a year break. I know… but I think I needed it. I still kept in touch with SWC and friends. But the participation was. lacking sobbing- I made my return as a backup camper, but was not super active… I did meet Finley, Niko, and Summer that session, so it was a win!

Session 6: Fantasy March ’24

And I made my leading debut in March 2024. I got back involved in the MBC and started with the Polar Bears! It reminded me what I loved about being a co, plus more. I also had Stingray and Crim as my cos and I couldn't be happier with my decisions. Led to some of my closest friendships right now <3 I learned what it means to lead an SWC cabin and to delegate and compromise with others.

Session 7: Bi-Fi July ‘24

Alana cabin!!! I was not fully active this session as I had retreat, camps, and a 2 week roadtrip, but this session was so much fun and you can’t go wrong with an Alana cabin!!

Session 8: Magreal Nov ‘24

Alana cabin take 2!! Trackbear kind of got my competitive nature out y’know… First 100k session! I really had to figure out the school/SWC balance to be able to write the amount that I did. Being in a cabin with Alana, Clev, and CJ (CeeJay CJ) was so much fun and these cabin wars are unbeatable. At one point, we were collectively writing 100+ wpm and it was insane- Such fond memories from this session <3

Session 9: Dystopian March ‘25

This. was an amazing time to be with the competitive mind of Zy as a leader. Always on your tows for cabin wars, shield being lowered multiple times, and fingers flying across the keyboard. What a time. I also got 100k for the second time here!

Session 10: Classics July ’25 TCTWNW

This was really cute cabin and the first time I was in TCTWNW! I knew that I wouldn't have the time to dedicate to a competitive cabin, but also wanted to be in TCTWNW for cabin wars~ And boy was cabin wars fun. Low stakes, but so much possibility. The wars were like free real estate and Sandy and I went wild. I knew that my words would heavily come from cabin wars. That session, around 70% of my word count came from cabin wars 1. Oop.

Session 11: Psycho-Fi Nov ‘25

This session!! I have never watched Severance, but I am excited to see what this session has in store~ This is my first session being in the same cabin as Soki <3 Hoping to ramp my activity up and get more narrative writing over journalling.

Session 12: Epistolary March ’26 TCTWNW

Yeah… So next session isn't here yet, but we can hope! I'm hoping to lead for potentially the last time next session, bringing Epistolary back from retirement. This would be full of seashore vibes and be focused on community. We still have a ways to go before next session, but fingers crossed that I can cross this off the bucket list! I would love to lead a cozy pastel TCTWNW <3 Guys, manifest Epistolary Penpals TCTWNW March 2026!!

I have had many roles in SWC, which include backup camper, camper, co-leader, leader, MBC member, Polar Bear Cub (daily, weekly, + workshop writer), and adding wars participant circa March '22. I would encourage anyone who wants to be part of the magic of SWC to do so! There are so many ways to help and asking never hurts (tho I will say that at least having been a co helps a lot)

Over the nearly 5 years I have been a part of SWC, I have learned, grown, led, and become a part of something greater. I have formed so many close friends that I have bonded with in other ways. SWC is so unique in how wholesome it is. We are truly a group that uplifts others, challenges to be better, and embraces the child in ourselves, through our storytelling and our play. We teeter between the fine line between professionalism and absurd chaos and that is so special. I truly cannot say that I have ever been part of a group like SWC.

Each of you are so special and impact the ones around you. I am one of the lucky ones to have found this camp <3

SWC Megathread ࿔*:☘︎・ November 2025

DAY ONE: 1K INTRO
Word count: 1020

Hello Hello! I'm Ryn, also known as Eryn, and this is my second SWC. This year I'm in Fantasy which is really exciting I love the aesthetic so much and I can just tell my profile is going to be a mess of Red and black for the foreseeable future.

I've just finished my junior year of high school (or as we call it in New Zealand, Year 12) and I'm on to end of year exams. This means my activity might be a little spotty as I have a…. lot of studying to do but in the later weeks I'll be active again. My first exam is statistics which is really great, seeing as that's probably? my easiest one. At the very least it's the most predictable so I know exactly what I need to learn.

I'm a big fan of science, particularly marine science, and a lot of the stuff I do in school is based around this! I know…. a lot about salmon. And mussels. Ask me anything about mussels and I've got you. I'm painfully allergic to most animals with fur (asides from my beautiful pit bull, she's a fabulous exception) so my focus is mostly on aquatic animals and reptiles. I own a half moon plakat betta fish, for one- he's my little menace and he WILL bite your fingers. It's ok though, his teeth are tiny. It's sort of adorable. I also own a rabbit, though we don't know what breed he is- my absolute sweetheart who will lick you rather than bite you…. unlike someone I know…

It's the time of year where a lot of my stuff is based around goal setting and how next year will look like me. I wouldn't be surprised if most of my words are from creating planners at this point. However, I have some other projects going to! I currently have 5 stories and AUs that I'm working on when I have time, even though my ability to focus is like next to nothing.

I suppose I have to address the elephant in the room…. Yes, you might also know me from Generations, where I'm staff manager and have owned quite a few high profile characters. If you do, come say hi I promise I don't bite Unless you're stealing my food in which case watch out. Roleplay has been a big part of my life since I first got into it at 8 or 9 (though i've improved a lot since then… shivers….) and I'm a big fan of roleplays with cool mechanics! Dnd, Blood on the clocktower and story-based mafia games are my favorites, and there's something about roleplaying with a risk or even with…. inevitable death that really appeals to me IDK WHY.

However when it comes to actual warrior cats stuff I'm…. not really involved in the community at all. I don't like warriors because it's warriors I like it for the community, I guess. My actual fandoms? Right now Vampires smp is a major one (I'm obsessed… send help) but other than that i'm mostly just floating!

Last year I was in Magical realism for September swc (the only month I can actually be active) and I enjoyed it so so much! When we won I actually screamed lol. However I may have loved it too much because I accidentally gave myself carpel tunnel. That was a… fun experience. Anyway, one surgery and a lot of hand stretches later I'm back in a place where I'm comfortable writing and not in pain anymore! Don't worry, I'm doing lots to make sure I don't overwork again this year.

I originally joined scratch as a voice actor for my brother's comic series, which ironically never got finished. Voice acting is super fun, though to be honest I got a little sick of it after a while because a lot of the series I got roles in never finished. ALSO there's only so many times I can be complimented for having ‘such a cool Australian accent’ before I crash out. I'M NOT AUSTRALIAN I PROMISE GUYS PLEASE BELIEVE ME….. I also sing on occasuan, though I don't usually post those anywhere. I've placed in a couple on scratch compititions but my editing and recording equipment is so horrifically bad at the moment I'm not going to subject anyone else to that lol. I like theater- my absolute favorite show of all time has to be Heathers the musical which I had the pleasure of seeing a local group put on (they did so good!).

Then I got pulled into generations by tiny, a friend from the VA community, and then they introduced me to SWC too! I'm overall just really happy to be here and can't wait to absolutly demolish my word count again…. I have so many practice essays to write exams are actually going to kill me Yay

Honestly I'm not really interesting enough to make up 1k that's a lot of words. Random quickfire facts for the word count!

  • My favorite genre to read is horror!
  • Next year I'm taking biology, chemistry, law, statistics and Geography
  • My favorite color is red, with blue in second. Sorta a weird grey-blue though
  • My favorite food is enchiladas… my favorite desert is lava cake
  • My favorite season is summer right now! Usually it's fall, but I have high hopes for this month so we've changed for a bit.
  • If I didn't live in New Zealand I think i'd like to be in Canada. Or Poland maybe.
  • My favorite genre to write is sci-fi, which is annoying because I have very limited experience in that area :sob:
  • I'm a big arcane fan!! It's honestly such a good show I don't understand how you can not be an arcane fan. My favorite character is Ekko, of course.
  • Right now I'm trying to get through the Witcher series- I'm right at the end of book one. If you've read it please come and talk to me!! I wanna discuss!! and the fandom is so dead everywhere so there's no spaces I can easily join unfortunately.

DAY TWO: FLOWER DAILY
Word count: 562

Someone was outside my door. This was strange for… a number of reasons, actually. It wasn't unheard of for friends to stop by unannounced, but the sun was dipping below the horizon and most of my friends would have at least bothered to send a message before turning up. Confused, I stood up and cleared the space between the sofa and my door, kicking one of my books subtly under the table. At least then it hadn't been sitting so obviously on the floor.

Hey- don't judge- the floor's a comfy place to read! We all need more floor time.

I swung the door open and looked around, finding not a single person anywhere in site. Even the carpark was empty asides from the yellow car belonging to my elderly neighbor who lived a few rooms down from mine. I stared in confusion for a few seconds, before looking down and seeing a bunch of flowers placed on the door mat, brightly colored against the old second hand material.

Scooping the up quickly, I check them over. The side that was down is a little squished, unfortunately, but if I turn it against the wall it'll still make a beautiful decoration. I step back inside, shutting out the cold winter air and sifting through my cupboards in an attempt to find a vase to put them in. There's nothing conventional, but I do find a tall water jug that fits them snugly. Perfect.

It's only then that I let myself check over the flowers, noting each variety. I have an old book on the back of my shelf- my sister used to love flower language back when she was a kid. It takes me a few moments to reach it right at the back, but I pull it down and begin flipping through the pages.

Asters. Patience, devotion. Love.

Azure blue sage. Thinking of you.

Myrtle. Loyalty.

I realize I'm grinning before I can stop myself. I can always hear my sister speaking when she sends me flowers- but it's been so long. Ever since she moved to the city, and got too busy chasing stories and arguing with publishers to bother put together flowers. Back when she were kids she'd go running around the village picking daisies and dandelions and whatever else she could find, making up her own meanings and pretending to be annoyed with me when I didn't magically know them. I'd sneak her pressed flowers between pages of her notes when school got overwhelming.

I got her a book on Victorian flower language when she turned 15 and I moved out. After that I learnt to expect bouquets every few months, ordered from inexpensive local florists on her small paycheck from contract work. I'd try to send them back, too, but I was never as good at picking out the right colors- the right meanings. Eventually I started sending her back books, instead.

So many years later, though, and the years of secret exchanges still come back to me clearly. I understand her message just as clearly as if she were standing in front of me. I can see her lopsided grin, her messy hair cut short just neat enough that you'd at least hesitate before asking if she'd done it herself. Her mouth moves with the words.

I love you. I miss you. I'll be home soon.

Very late intro

Myo woke up from her deep slumber. She rubbed her eyes, vision completely blurry. The eye blur then cleared up, and she noticed that she was late for the next session of SWC! She dashed out of the house, completely unaware of the fact that she was in Spider-Man pajamas and her hair looked like a bird’s nest. A very messy bird’s nest. She ran to the metro station, Naruto-style. It didn’t help, but it made her feel fast. The city’s bright lights were overwhelming, considering the fact that it was daytime, and the silvery buildings towered over her, making her aware that she was small in such a big, beautiful world. She ran onto the stairs, but then realized that it was one of the rare occasions that the escalator was working. She the stepped on a corner and tripped down. She fell on the last part of the escalator, looking quite beat. She looked up, quite bleary, and let out an “Ugh”. She got back up as fast as she can and dashed to the stop, hoping that she didn’t miss the train. The train was just going to get out of the station, but Myo luckily rushed in the doors, panting and looking completely out of breath. Myo got out her hairbrush in the backpack that she luckily brought, and tried to get as many tangles out as she possibly can. After all, she’s going to be in the Fairy Tales cabin and she wants to make a good impression. Will she?

SWC Megathread ࿔*:☘︎・ November 2025

Ava was gathering some flowers from her mother’s garden, humming as she was going to propose to Aster, the girl that she always wanted to confess to. She was hesitant to give it to her, as she was afraid that their friendship would be ruined… did she like girls? I mean, she does talk a lot about how pretty female celebrities are. She got some beautiful yellow carnations, some buttercups, and a couple of orange lilies and petunias. She hopped her mother wouldn’t mind. Ava looked away, and blushed at the thought at how romantic it looked. Aster would know what the flowers meant. Probably something romantic, as Ava’s mom was always giving them to her dad. They were divorced, but they act liked they liked each other. They were always staring at each other, all moony-eyed like two newlyweds. They even thanked each other for not cheating on each other! Or at least it’s what she thinks newlyweds act like. She scratched her head, thinking about how she and Aster world act like when they both were married. Like her mom and dad? I mean, when they weren’t together they argued a lot, but that’s probably true for most married couples. She continued handling the flowers, trying to keep them perfect for Aster! After all, she’s the best drummer ever. The flowers looked delicate, but strong like her dear Aster. She may seem unromantic at first, but she is obsessed with flowers. Every time any other bandmate or anyone from the audience gives her a flower, she looks at it and immediately thanks them, and says the meaning. I hope the feelings that her mom had for her dad are conveyed in this very bouquet. She sighed, thinking about how romantic it was to be loved, even by someone who says they don’t love you more.

After school, she knew her game plan. Give the flowers to Aster, because she was the most loving and faithful drummer and person that a girl can ask for, see her so in awe that she would definitely confess to her, and then they would end up happy and together!!! She had a feeling that it would go to plan. She could feel it in her jugular vein. She opened the club room door dramatically, and said a bit too loudly, “Hey Aster! I’ve got flowers for youuuu!”

Aster looked at her, with a completely blank, almost confused expression. She sighed and said, in a weirdly harsh tone for someone who usually doesn’t express emotion, “Where did you get these flowers and why those flowers?”

Ava said, “Oh! The garden that my mom has specifically for making bouquets for my dad.” She was nervous that Aster didn’t like them, or if she didn’t like her.

Aster asked, a bit too bluntly, “What are your parents like with each other?”

Ava said, a bit too cheerfully for the subject matter, “Oh, they’re divorced, but they still love each other!”

Aster said, “Well, I don’t think they like each other that much that she is sending him flowers that literally mean rejection, hatred, mistrust, and ungratefulness.”

The truth dawned on her. There has been always a hint of sarcasm in their voices when they say that they loved each other. Why were they always thanking each other about the bare minimum? She sighed, and said, “I was horribly mistaken.”

(564 words, and very sure I cannot write romance or represent gay people or divorced people well.)

LUNE'S INTRO
Hello, hello, hello! I’m Lune, she/her, a chaotic writer, reader, theater kid, and cat fanatic with a love for swords, sweets, and polymer clay, and its time for my first ever 1K intro. I’ve been in SWC for 2 sessions now, this being my third!
My favorite books are Aru Shah and the End of Time (and the rest of that series, the second one is the best), The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, 4 Years Trapped In My Mind Palace, The Hunger Games, Keeper of the Lost Cities, Harry Potter, Anne of Green Gables, Wings of Fire, Little Women, Twilight, and a few others that I forgot about.
Favorite TV shows/movies (not including musicals, we’ll get to those later) include Gravity Falls, The Owl House, Amphibia, any baking shows (especially Great British Bakeoff, Is It Cake?, and Kids Baking Championship. I can’t stand Bakeoff ripoffs but I watch them anyways xD), Hilda, Project Runway, and more!
Favorite musicals include Newsies, Hamilton, Mamma Mia!, Wicked, Anastasia, Operation Mincemeat (I’ve never actually seen it but THE MUSIC) and… yeah, there’s more, but I forgot.
ANYWAYS, my hobbies would include making polymer clay charms, reading (obviously), writing (even more obviously), drawing, baking, petting cats, and lying on the couch face down because I’m bored. Hurrah.
My favorite SWC mascot has to be Thor. Because Thor.
Fun fact: I’ve actually never had a mango and don’t really want to.
My favorite genres to read are fantasy, GOOD real-fi, mystery, and classic. I’ve also recently been getting into dystopian! My favorite genres to write in are fantasy and classic. My least favorite genre (for both reading AND writing) is sci-fi.
I’m currently learning to speak French.
The best music artists/genres in my opinion are broadway, Sierra Sikora, Kacey Musgraves, the Chicks, and Taylor Swift, my favorite genre from her being either TTPD or Fearless.
I came across SWC a few years ago, actually in my first year maybe of Scratch, when I was looking through memory books and wishing I could be a part of it. And now, I am! And its practically the only reason I’m still on Scratch.
Another fun fact: My nickname is Lune because my username, LovegoodLady, is based off a character from Harry Potter named Luna, in case you aren’t an HP fan. So I wanted to do something that kinda related to my username, but Luna was kinda the nickname for tons of other SWCers. And I’ve always loved the name Lune, which means ‘moon’ in French, so I thought it was perfect.
I’m currently reading the Inheritance Games series, having just finished the Final Gambit!
The best musical I’ve ever been in is probably Anastasia, I was one of her sisters!!!
I’m an ambivert, I think an INFP-T, or Mediator, who can get really talkative, chaotic, and mischeivious with people I know well, but is really shy around people I don’t really know. I’d like to think I’m pretty funny, but… I don’t really know.
I’m quite obsessed with Canva, actually, and make all sorts of random stuff with it! I love taking my book characters and generating them with magic media.
With theatre, I’ve never actually been a lead role or even a supporting. I’ve been an ensemble/featured actor my entire theatre career, which started with Matilda Jr and has since gone into Annie Jr, Fiddler on the Roof Jr, Shrek Jr, Aladdin Jr, Anastasia Youth Edition, and this year, I’m branching out into an acting-only class, where I am extremely excited to say we will be performing Little Women!! We’re currently in the process of auditioning, and I… can’t really decide which role I want.
I absolutely despise trying to keep track of the books I read. When I read, I read to enjoy myself. After I read, I want to take a moment to process what I read or think about it. When I, say, set a timer for reading, I get distracted and look up to see how long I’ve read for every five seconds and don’t get into the book as much. So. Just let me read. Thank you.
As for sports, I’ve tried soccer, basketball, dance, and a few others, and even did soccer for like 4 years. But I just… I don’t like to play them. And most people will say that theater isn’t a sport, that I’m really not getting enough exercise, so I’m trying to find something that works for me, but… nothing has stuck. So we’ll see what happens with that.
I’ve been thinking about co-leading for two sessions now, but I’ve never gotten around to it. Some parts of me don’t want to, some parts of me are begging to try, and some parts of me are just unsure. I’m not quite confident in my skills or my answers or how much time I’ll have… but it sounds SO FUN. But then again, what if my only offer is a cabin I don’t want? But then again… ARGH. So, we’ll see for next session.
I got into reading in first grade, actually, when my mom handed me a copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and told me to read it. I LOVED it. I started the next book after that, and kind of didn’t really click with it, and took a long break from it. But in second grade, I picked it up again and boy, did I fall in love. From there, I devoured the rest of the series, and now I read, like, half a book a day if I have time. Gosh, I love it.
Even though I’m sort of a new SWCer, I’ve been a part of many chaos-es, including the Floor Flippers, the Bi-fi-rework group, the rhyming cult, and… uh… just a chaotic camper in general.
I quite enjoy talking in exaggerated accents, such as Southern. I quite enjoy singing Goodbye Earl or Our Song with as much of a Southern twang as I can possibly do.
OH MY GOODNESS I HIT 1K I DID IT YES!! ALRIGHTY THEN, BYE FOR NOW! FEEL FREE TO CHAT WITH ME ABOUT ANY OF THIS STUFF!!! ACK!

aster haz to stop using ‘gaze’ </3

also look !!! itz my guyz !!! AAAAAAA I LOVE THEM I LOVE THEM EEEEEEEEEEEE

hope thiz soundz ok ?? idk ahaha :P

pronounz —
eloise ~ she / her
raymond / ray ~ any / all , they / them preferred

!! mentionz of unhealthy friendship , injury , & angelz !!

white rose — loyalty / new beginnings
black dahlia — betrayal / warning
begonia — warning / danger

-.. — -. .-..-. - / -… . .-.. .. . …- . / .. -. / .- .–. .-. .. .-..

Why Eloise came back over and over again must have been a mystery to them.

But they weren’t aware like she was, were they?

She watched the back of their head silently as they led her through a field she couldn’t recognize, dully aware of the feeling of their hand gripping hers just a touch too tight. Possessive. Hungry.

Despite not knowing why, they knew she wouldn’t leave. No matter what sickening words left their perfect lips, permanently curled up in that blank smile of theirs. The one that had just a faint touch of knowing.

Her gaze dropped from their picturesque, meticulously styled hair, and to the white rose she’d been blessed with fixed around the collar of her dress. Her mission, she recalled—

To save the self-proclaimed angel before they were driven mad by the blinding spotlights of fame.

And even if she wanted to let them fall…she couldn’t. For His approval, she danced, doing as He pleased. She would never disobey.

“Eloiiise…”

They…Raymond…sung, manicured nail digging into her pale, doll-like skin, causing Eloise to look up at them with no hint of pain in her empty blue eyes.

“…yes, Noah?”

Despite their confusing and rapidly switching demeanors, she could see it. A flicker of contempt in their gaze. Their voice hardened just slightly. Disgust.

“I told you, it’s Ray.”

“My mistake.”

She held their scalding gaze, their unnatural golden eyes practically shining with warning. That was one thing that always lured people into them.

Their allure. The mysterious vibe they gave off, decorated with that showmanship that only them, Raymond Noah Durphy, could do.

They skipped around with fancy, brightly colored garments.
The darkness in their appearance, their hair reminiscent of the night sky, the black dahlias in their front pocket, they weren’t drawbacks, not at all—the faint blonde streaks of hair allowed visions of the sun’s rays, and the flowers being handed out to everyone as gifts, as blessings from the angel.

“What were you going to say…Ray?”

Their gaze relaxed just slightly. A small nod of approval. She was in the clear, for now, until they changed again.

“Welll,”

They started, drawing out their words, just like they always did, tracing the joints of her fragile hand with a shaking thumb. Eloise was always too aware of how easily they could snap her wrist, with those long, slender fingers of theirs.

It wasn’t just about their physical capability, either.

It would be so simple for them, just a mere item checked off their to-do list before they went on.

They didn’t care about her. Not at all. They didn’t care for anyone, for what she knew, not anyone but themself. It didn’t hurt Eloise.

No, it was more of a fact. And facts never hurt her.

“I haave something for you, another taaask…”

That sweet voice, too cheerful, too friendly for someone like Raymond.

A faint exhale from Eloise as she stopped, staring up at them, the begonias in the meadow they were traversing through faintly swaying, as if warning her. Warning her not to listen. To disobey instead.

“…What is it?”

However, no matter how many resets she went though…Eloise would never learn.

“What…do you want me to do?”

— -… . -.–

Hello there, fellow SWCer! My name is Sagesaurous Rex Sage and I’m a camper in High Tension Action (aka Action Intelligence Agency) this session! I’m a teenage girl who lives in the Eager Succulent Tyranny (EST)! I use the pronouns she/her and I have a very wide range of interests that include: Archery, Mock Trial, Trivia, Writing, Reading, Band, and so on

I know I just mentioned a bunch of extracurricular interests but I would like to start with my academic interests! My usual favorite subject is ELA but things have kinda changed a bit this year. My current ELA teacher isn’t really teaching us much so I get kinda bored. I also am taking two math classes this year so math is kinda wearing me down. Don’t get me wrong, I love math and Algebra 1 but wow. My favorite subjects this year are Social Studies and Science. Social Studies is one of my favorites because I like to learn about ancient history and mythology mostly. Right now we’re learning about world exploration so yeah. Science is awesome. We are currently in our geology unit and then we’ll be doing life science and then, the one I might be most excited for, PHYSICS! I’ve never really had a Science Teacher teach me physics so I’m SO EXCITEDDDD!! I LOVE STEM!! Guess what I don’t get this year because of Algebra 1? ART CLASS! AND I LOVE ART CLASS!! (Don’t worry. I’ll probably participate in the Art Club when it comes around.)

Next up, Future plans! Okay, so next year, I’m planning on having a normal freshman year and then the year after, I would like to participate in Dual Enrollment or CCP (College Credit Plus) or whatever you call it. I would like to start getting my basic college classes out of the way so that it might help in the future! I don’t really know what I want to study in college or what I want to do but I know I’ll challenge myself and put my brain to the test!

On the topic of extracurriculars, I am going to take this one at a time because I have SO MANY! First up, band. I LOVE BAND!! I play flute and I’m hoping to learn alto saxophone soon. I do almost anything and everything band related. It’s currently marching band season so depending on how far our team makes it, I may not be active on some Friday nights! I love marching band so much and I think through doing it, I’ve definitely improved my playing. In December, we start Pep Band, which is when we come to the high school basketball games and play a few songs for them. It's also VERY fun. Then, I go into Solo & Ensemble Band. I’m going to be doing a flute trio with two of my besties and possibly a solo! Jazz Band also starts around that time and I’ll definitely be joining! Finally, we have Honor Band. I’ve wanted to be in since 6th grade but it never worked out and I’m hoping that this year, I’ll get a chance!

Next up, Archery! I LOVE ARCHERY TO DEATH!! I’ve been doing Archery since I was 11 and currently, I am top of the middle school team. My goal is to not get below a score of 220 for the whole season. I really hope I can do that because I would like to maintain my role as top middle school archer at my school. I would like to try and get a perfect score of 300 this season! Archery competitions are the BEST! They give you this weird kind of anxiety that for some reason I love (apparently Sage is an adrenaline junkie).

The final extracurricular that I’ll mention for now is Quiz Bowl! For those of you who are thinking, “Sage, what is Quiz Bowl?” Quiz Bowl is basically like a trivia game. Normally a team will have 8 to 10 players on a team and you send up four for different rounds. It’s really fun! I’ve been on the Quiz Bowl team since I was in sixth grade and both of the years I’ve been doing Quiz Bowl, we’ve won first place so I can’t wait for this year! I plan to start studying hard for it in December.

Earlier, I mentioned band and I would love to dive deeper into that category! I mentioned playing flute and learning alto saxophone, but I also plan on learning piano and guitar soon. I also participate in Musical Theatre at our school but I might not this year because the program is currently in chaos as our old director had to resign and the new director is an interesting guy.

Still on the topic of music, I would like to ramble about my favorite artists, songs, and musicals. I know A LOT of songs. For example, if you were my irl friend, digging through my spotify and decided to put my “liked songs” playlist on shuffle, it would go from, “High Tension” by akb48 (thank you, Skylar) to “In The End” by Linkin Park to “Hard Times” by Paramore and then to “Figured Out” by MALINDA (thanks again, Skylar). My favorite artists right now are Paramore (specifically “Hard Times” and “Ain’t It Fun”), Wheezer (“Island in the Sun”, “Buddy Holly”, and “Africa”, originally by Toto), Linkin Park (I love all their songs), and Forrest Frank. My favorite musical soundtracks are Wicked, SIX, Hamilton, EPIC: The Musical, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Grease and Sound Of Music are good too). Also, right now I really like “Notion” by The Rare Occasions, “Keep Your Head Up” by Andy Grammer, and “Mirrors” by Justin Timberlake. That’ll wrap up music!

Next up, reading! Okay so, I’m kind of a mood reader which means that I just read what I feel like reading. I’m currently in my "Psychological Thriller and Murder Mystery” phase right now so I read the “A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder” trilogy (I recommend it by the way). Since I’m currently behind in my reading goals for this school year, I’ve been prepping little book piles to read throughout the months. For November, I’ll be reading three murder mystery books and one rom-com book. For December, I will be reading The Blackthorn Key series by Kevin Sands. In January I’m thinking about The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes and the two Impossible Creatures books by Katherine Rundell. Past that, I’m not sure what I want to read.

What better topic to end off on than SWC? Let’s go. Okay, so I’ve loved writing since a young age and when someone introduced me to SWC, I was ecstatic. This is my fourth session (ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY)!!! Today actually marks the day that Amethyst gave me the nickname Sage <3 ANYWAYS- so yeah. My first session was a year ago and I was a camper in Fantasy Haven. In my second session I led Mythology Battlefield. In my third session I was a camper in Utopian Inbetween. This session I am an agent for the Action Intelligence Agency. I’ve been involved in so many inside jokes in SWC. There was Kylo, William the Sheep, the “Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room. A rubber room. A rubber room with rats. The rats made me crazy.” train, flipping Sunny’s tables, the camper strike (I loved making that. So iconic), Ris x MLP wedding, and a few more. I’m so grateful that someone introduced me to SWC because every session I feel like I belong and I promise, the community here is equal to no other.
Love you guys! Bye!
(P.S. Ignore my 68 grammer mistakes. I'm too tired to fix them. lol.)

flower frenzy

Bluebell – constancy, Dandelion – faithfulness
Osmunda – dreams, Snowdrop – hope

- - -

“Hunter,” Saviin called, bounding into the clearing as she spotted her friend. He didn’t respond, too focused on his flowers and plants.

She frowned, ears twitching slightly. “Hunter,” she called again, slowing down to a trot. Again, she got no response, but this time she could hear him mumbling to himself. Weird…

By the time she had reached the not-cat, she could make out what he was saying, sort of. Something about… snowdrops, maybe?

“… Hunter,” she said, at a normal volume.

He yelped, jumping into the air and twisting around, cream and chocolate fur bristling. Emerald green eyes met mis-matched sky blue.

“Vi!” he chirped after a moment, straightening. “Hi.”

“Hey,” she greeted. “Are you okay?”

“Huh?” he asked. “Oh, uhm, yeah. I’m fine. Why?”

“I called you a couple times,” she said. “You didn’t respond.”

“Oh. Sorry. Uh,” he blinked, tilting his head sheepishly. “I was pretty focused.”

“On… plants?” she asked, glancing over to the plants in question. They were… flowers with white… petals. Yeah. Go with that. Hunter was the plant nerd, not her.

He nodded a few times, glancing from his plants to Vi a few times. “Yeah. I, uh, wanted to make a bouquet for Nestor,” he explained after a moment. “… as… as a thanks for bringing us here.” An almost embarrassed expression graced his features.

Saviin could only blink a few times. “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” he said. “Like… I get it. He’s the one who brings us gifts and us presents because he protects us. But like… he does so much! I think he deserves some sort of gift or holiday or something because he’s just done so much for us! Like… he brought me here, and—and you here and your dad, and Alor, and Aspen and—”

Saviin bapped him with a paw, right on the face repeatedly. “Hey, yeah, I get it. You wanna do something nice. Great,” she smiled and then tilted her head. “What’s stopping you?”

There was a long pause.

And then Hunter slid onto his stomach, practically melting into the grass beneath him. He whined, pressing his face into his paws and smudging his glasses. “I don’t know what flowers to give himmmmmm.”

Saviin just stared at him before glancing away with narrowed eyes. “… just… give him pretty flowers?” she said, feeling helpless.

Flowers were… flowers. They smelled good, and made dad sneeze if he smelled them too much. You could use them as decoration and could make dyes out of them. That was the extent of her knowledge of flowers.

“Oh, winds, I wish it was that easy,” he muttered. “But I can’t give him one that means something rude!”

“… there’s a flower that means something rude?” she asked, feeling a little incredulous.

He sprang up, awkwardly adjusting his glasses as he did. “Mhm. Plenty. Which is why I have to make sure it’s perfect!”

“… so… is there a flower that means something nice?” she asked. “Like… thankfulness or… uh, you’re awesome or something?”

“Plenty,” he said.

“… are you being indecisive?” she asked.

“… maybe.”

Vi rolled her eyes affectionately. “Okay, so… uh… is there like a list? Or is this all in your head?”

“Book,” he said sagely.

“Well… I guess Filbert won’t mind if I take a break from being a mailcat…”

“So… this one means hope?” Vi asked, pointing towards what she thought were the snowdrops.

“Yep,” Hunter said, glancing up for a few seconds and peering out at her from over his glasses. “Why?”

“Mmm,” she hummed, bounding around his garden for a few seconds. “And this bush means dreams, right?” she asked, pointing towards a fern-looking plant.

“It’s an osmunda,” he corrected. “But yes.”

“Oh!”

Vi giggled. “Now you’re getting it.”

“Okay, so… we’ve got our not-cat hopes,” Hunter said, pointing toward the blue flowers that he had carefully plucked from the ground. “… and we’ve got our not-cat dreams,” he pointed to the osmunda.

“Cool. Is this good, now? It has good meaning, which is what you wanted,” Vi said from where she had sprawled out in a sunbeam.

“Well, yeah… but… it needs more. It’s kinda… barren,” he said. “Gimme a minute.”

“Vi!” Hunter called from… somewhere.

“What,” she asked, not opening her eyes. She had just gotten comfortable, what could he possibly want from her?

“Bluebells for faithfulness, right?”

“No, for, uh, constancy,” she said, cracking open one eye. “It was… dandelions for faithfulness.”

“Thanks!” came his slightly muffled reply

“Why constancy and faithfulness?”

“Huh?” Hunter eloquently asked, glancing up from the ribbon he was tying. He had chosen a golden yellow, to match the accent of the dandelions.

“Why constancy and faithfulness?” Saviin repeated. “Don’t they mean the same thing?”

“Well… yeah,” he said. “But Nestor’s always been there for us. I think he deserves double for that.” With that, he went back to tying the ribbon, trying his best to make the bow perfect.

“True,” she said, stretching before trotting over to him.

“There!” he said, grinning. “It’s perfect.”

“Looks great to me,” she added, admiring the bouquet. “You did good.”

“Thanks!” he said, unable to stop smiling. “You did great, too.”

“All I did was ask you dumb questions about flowers,” she said bluntly.

“Yeah, but you helped me,” he said. “I probably would’ve wallowed in my pit of despair forever and ever if you hadn’t come along.”

“You would’ve figured it out,” she said, booping his face. She then scurried away several paces, grinning. “Anyways, gotta go do work. Good luck! Tell me how it went later!”

And with that, she was off.

“Bye, Vi!” he called after her before sighing.

Now the fun part.

Actually delivering the gift to its recipient.

──★ ˙ flower daily
501 words … november 2

Bust out the blossoms—it’s time for a daily that’s in full bloom: the flower daily! Will your characters confess their love with ferns? Send ominous threats with oleander? Accidentally spark war with a poorly-arranged bouquet? Write 500 words of a piece that weaves in the meanings of at least 3 different flowers. This will earn you 500 points, with an extra 100 points for sharing proof.

You grab your satchel, and head for the door. Glancing behind you, you say goodbye to your mom, who was watering your potted thistle. Visitors and friends never understood why you chose to care for a thistle. It was “ugly,” whereas flowers were pretty and what people noticed. But you chose the thistle, as if it spoke to you. You didn't completely know why, but it felt very fitting for the current situation.

The world was in shambles. For decades people always said there were to be another world war, but no one expected it to actually happen. The fallout was even worse, everyone facing poverty. The world had united into one single country, hoping it would help. But all that it had done was make the people angry. Those in power steal from its citizens and create unfair laws, but the people have nowhere else to run to.

You and many others were tired of all of this unfairness, and banded together to start a rebellion.

As a collective group, you all figured that you needed to be discreet. How did you communicate? Through plants, of course. You didn't protest with weapons or cries, but rather through the flora. It would be hard to track who planted them, but it would still deliver a message. That was what you did. At night, you would attach flowers to important structures, or plant them on roads.

But it was still extremely dangerous, as cities were becoming more guarded. Many of your friends had been caught trying to.

And yet, you continued to perform your duty. You realized that the threats and arrests only caused more unrest. Besides, in the long run, by doing this, you are setting your children and grandchildren free of this horrible mess.

Besides, the high risk and low reward places had already been marked by others with Rhododendrons. It was one of the many messages that the group had. It symbolized danger, so you knew to avoid the place it was in. Unintentionally, it has a double meaning, as the bright colors also attract attention and help with the protesting while keeping the revolutionists safe.

How have these messages remained undetected by the higher-ups? Simple. This language was passed orally, and never written down. Only the members knew it, and was passed down to their children and trusted ones. Those who didn't never cared enough to attempt to learn it—as it was too complicated for them to remember.

You leave your home, with a scarf covering most of your face. You tried to act casually, as if you were going to the nearest convenience store. Which you technically were, just not to buy snacks. Your main focus of the night was hard-to-reach yet easily visible areas with tansies. You wanted to send a message to the world, to empower the people, and against the oppressors. In the end, good will always prevail over evil.

That was your declaration, and you were proud to announce it to everyone.

SWC Megathread ࿔*:☘︎・ November 2025

⋆ saturday, november 1st: 1k intro
hi! i’m veni, using the pronouns she/any <3 this is my fifteenth session of swc - i’ve been participating since march 2021!! grateful for every memory i’ve made here, and this session i’m thrilled to be co-leading fantasy with the amazing cat and livy! although i’ve been around for this long, i only started doing 1k intros a couple sessions ago. i’m not sure what number this is, but i skipped last sessions’ due to being on vacation so i do have some newer things to yap about!! very excited about that
i’m a sophomore in highschool! currently a little over two months into the school year and i’m already exhausted :) this is also my first year doing ap classes! in fact, i just ditched my gov homework to write this instead. why not have both things be late you know (just kidding the homework is due tomorrow night)
okay first off, as you could guess i like to write! i’m… writing right now. i like to do short stories mostly, i’ve never actually written anything very long. random fiction segments are one of my favorite ways to take advantage of my creative bursts <3 my favorite genres are fantasy, adventure, mystery, bizzaro, anything that doesn’t have a lot of rules. unfortunately i don’t find a lot of time to write outside of swc, as i try to channel my minimal free time into art instead.
which brings us on to the next topic; i like drawing!! probably my main hobby. i do things both traditionally (mostly through my beloved sketchbook - i completely filled out a sketchbook for the first time this february! i’m on my second one now but it’s probably gonna take a little bit haha) and digitally, on procreate. as for other art, i like to paint but don’t engage in that nearly as much, mostly because i’m too lazy to take out the paints and brushes and have to clean up afterwards. additionally, i’m currently taking a 3d art elective at my school which i’m enjoying very much. i’ve gotten to experiment with cardboard and clay, and we also have access to a kiln so i get to have my pieces fired!! super excited to see how that turns out. i’m also into fiber arts, whether it’s making funky patches out of felt, sewing a little plush, or crocheting myself a new accessory! i’ve been learning to knit, but have made a grand total of two pieces so far - a yellow square and some fingerless gloves which are my pride and joy.
i feel like during my 1k intros i spend a lot of time talking about what i do, and while they’re big parts of me i’m aware it gets repetitive… did you know i’m vietnamese? it’s funny being friends with people online, because our perceptions of each other are so wildly different sometimes. i’ve been told that i give off “tall vibes” one time, which was immensely funny because irl, it’s been pointed out that i’m kind of short on many occasions. anyways being asian and growing up born american, surrounded by very american people has shaped lots of my identity in ways i don’t acknowledge often - it’s crazy to me that all of our lives are so different when it comes down to the little details :0 i really like pho though
expanding on the ‘merica thing, i’ve spent most of my life here on the east coast (est)! for the most part, i like it. lots of action, lots of sights, lots of people all of the time. cold atlantic ocean, driving in to random cities. i’ve only been to new york twice in my conscious memory </3 the time change thingy is tomorrow though so i will be getting an hour less on dailies :(
also, kind of random but i have a dog! he’s a coton de tulear/shih tzu i think? and i love him very much. he’s very fluffy and his name is teddy, he turned 7 this august! i’ve have had him for 7 years around mid-november <3
i kind of want to talk about fashion next :) i hope it doesn’t sound vain or whatever but clothes bring me a lot of joy. putting together outfits, whether through my closet or even in my sketchbook is a lot of fun; thinking ‘oh this goes with this!’ or ‘what if we hid stars in every accessory’ is the most calming thing ever (can you tell i like hobbies with a lot of freedom lol) i’ve spent a lot of time in past years developing somewhat of a style, and collecting clothes that i feel confident in. unfortunately i don’t dress exactly as i want to due to “societal norms” or whatever - people who dress bold are so cool and i want to be like them someday oh my gosh. my life goal is to look as whimsical as possible. my favorite colors are wine red, navy, dark green, and dark purple! i also like to wear a lot of jewelry and especially bracelets, and lately i’ve (finally) been learning how to do makeup. drawing on your face is somehow both fun and infuriating.
i am also a wannabe outdoorsy person. i say wannabe because i don’t get to be outside nearly as much as i’d like - there’s only so much you can do when you can’t drive yet and are not an adult, unfortunately :P but whether it’s hiking, wasting my hours away in the middle of the woods, or standing on the edge of the ocean, i get a lot of peace from hanging out with nature. when i’m out and about, i love to take photos or gather flowers to dry or press.
considering halloween was yesterday, i would also like to briefly mention that my favorite time of year is that mid-september to new year’s period; i love seeing everyone come alive and be joyous. although i’m mostly an introverted person and prefer my own company a lot, i like the soft hum of other people surrounding me - it’s very comforting, if you get what i mean? also all of the fun things happen within this period - football games, pumpkins, apples, decorating the tree, being harassed with christmas music everywhere you go (which has actually started today, by the way, thanks grocery store)
and i think that’s it for my intro! was it worth it avoiding my gov homework? we’ll find out tomorrow. if you read through all of my jumbled rambling, congrats; and a very happy swc to everyone <3

SWC Megathread ࿔*:☘︎・ November 2025

In freshman year, Gwen discovered this old Victorian pastime of communication through flowers. Somehow in between getting top grades in all of her her classes and working on getting her first part-time job, fourteen-year-old Gwen found the time to memorize hundreds of plants and their meanings according to a lost art that peaked over a century ago. Gwen was always a very logical, scientific, studious girl. But she found herself seeing a purpose behind the meanings of flowers she encountered as she went about her life. A bed of clover, representing industry, encouraged her not to drop out of her competitive high school in sophomore year when she broke up with her very first boyfriend and ended up nearly failing a test as a result. After days of holding in all her feelings, she lashed out at her mom in the kitchen over something she would admit mere hours later wasn’t even an issue.
Her mom looked at her with gentle eyes, saying, “Gwen, honey, why don’t you take a walk?” And that was how Gwen found herself on a park bench in Central Park, listening to Radiohead, and staring at a patch of clover, the purple and white flowers seemingly staring back, daring her, challenging her. Gwen was industrious, she knew that. One bad grade didn’t change anything. She could redeem herself and say at her prestigious school. She just needed to believe in herself.
A few months into her junior year she found herself getting recommended by her Chemistry teacher to take a sixteen-month internship at Oscorp Industries, one of the most competitive internships in the country that usually went to a university student despite being open to anyone over sixteen. The application process involved multiple interviews with members of Oscorp Industries, and while Gwen was confident she had a hard time convincing herself she was ready for this. She got up early the morning of her first interview, giving herself plenty of time to navigate an unfamiliar bus route, or rather giving herself plenty of time to have a brief anxiety attack and miss a bus. As she approached her first bus stop, she noticed a patch of flowers spreading their pollen around the island in the middle of the road. An older woman walked by them and sneezed. They were goldenrod, representing encouragement. Gwen aced that interview and every one that followed.
All of Gwen’s hard work payed off and she was named Valedictorian of her year. Her family was proud of her, her teachers were proud of her, Peter was proud of her. But she felt woefully unprepared. Yes, she had gotten the best grades of anyone in her year. But she went to a science school. Skills in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and technology would be almost no help to her in giving a speech in front of her classmates — her peers — and their families.
“But Gwen,” her mom said, “you’ve given guided tours for nearly a year now. You’re skilled at public speaking.”
“Yeah, but this just feels different.
The morning of graduation, Gwen wakes up to a gorgeous display of flowers on her dresser, presumably from her family. Among them, there are lotuses. Lotuses represent eloquence. Knowingly or not, her family have just given her exactly what she needs to have confidence in her abilities to deliver her speech successfully today. This confidence, Gwen hopes, will bleed over into everything else she has to figure out in this last summer she has as a child.

Peter always pretends he doesn’t care when Gwen talks about her flowers, but secretly he’s paying attention. He pays attention because Harry used to love the Victorian Language of Flowers too, back when they were little kids, before Harry moved to Europe and left Peter behind. Once he meets Gwen and she doesn’t shut up about flowers just like Harry, Peter starts paying attention. He identifies and catalogues any flowers Harry appears with in the news, on social media, in tabloids. Peter ignores the headlines about the young son of a CEO and his substance abuse and risky behaviours, and focuses on the flowers. He acts like he truly believes Harry could be hiding a message for him in them, a secret code. Most of the time the meanings don’t make sense, but occasionally they do.
One time a video of Harry shows up on Youtube where he makes a joke Peter is almost positive Harry got from him. In the background, there are purple flowers visible. Peter struggles to identify them but eventually decides they must be Ragged Robins. Ragged Robins represent wit.
The next time the flowers that catch Peter’s attention are Zinnias. Harry is in an interview article talking about his childhood, growing up in New York City, and addressing the recent scandal about his father’s health. He doesn’t mention Peter by name but talks about things Peter was there for. Peter barely notices. He’s too busy trying to remember what Zinnias mean. When he finally remembers it doesn’t really matter exactly what Harry said anymore because Peter is convinced this has to be a message. Zinnias mean thoughts of absent friends.
The final time Harry leaves a flower message for Peter is when it’s announced he’s moving back to New York City following the death of his father. Behind him is a Juniper, proclaiming “I confide in you.” But Peter doesn’t notice.

After Gwen’s death Peter tries to ignore the flowers. But he can’t. It’s like they’re screaming at him. Like they’re telling him Gwen is still out there somewhere, watching him, waiting for him. All his life, Peter hasn’t believed in anything but science. Now, he isn’t sure what to believe.
Bay laurel waits for him at Gwen’s funeral, a symbol of glory and an acknowledgement of the transformative nature of death. One day he finds that someone else has left Forget-Me-Nots on Gwen’s grave. Forget-Me-Nots. Love in absence. The next time Peter visits the grave, he leaves Periwinkle, for memory. He doesn’t know what else to do.
