Apate liked this girl. This girl, who sat in front of her. This girl, with her beautiful, sharp green eyes. This girl, with her olive brown skin, that seemed to glow in the moonlight. This girl, whose dress looked so beautiful on her despite being scraps. Oh what a wonderful girl.
They sat together, in the darkness, eyes shining in the light of the stars. It was not often that the two could be together in day, as thieving took up most of their time, and they were almost never paired together. But at night, they could be together, and that's what mattered to Apate.
The girl, her name was Willow (just as beautiful as her appearance), brushed off her dress, making as if to get up.
Apate, without thinking, reached out a hand to grab her. “Wait-” He exclaimed, their heart beating. Fast. Faster. “Please…stay.”
The words caught Willow by surprise. Never had she heard Apate sound so…desperate, pleading.
It shocked her.
But she was happy to oblige.
Sitting back down, she wrapped an arm around her friend. Unless…maybe he was more…than a friend.
“Apate…” She whispered, the words quiet and yet loud in the silence of the night.
He knew what she was going to say. They nodded, a small smile lighting up their face. “Yeah, okay.” She replied.
And then she leaned against Willow, and let the beautiful silence of the night overcome her together.

It is not a normal day.
You know this because on normal days, you do not wake up to find that instead of it being night as it was only a couple seconds earlier, it is in the beautiful early morning tranquility of day.
On normal days, you do not look around to find that instead of being in your comfortable, familiar bed, you are sitting atop a chair so soft it might have been clouds, with what seems to have a heavenly glow surrounding it.
And most of all, on normal days, you do not open your eyes to see a young figure with short, messy brown hair, and hazel eyes, staring directly at you.
“W-what's happening?” You stutter, eyes widening.
The girl, seemingly only about twelve or thirteen, laughs, a smirk playing at her lips. “Hello human! Don't worry, I won't hurt you! I wouldn't be able to anyway, even if I did want to! This is just a dream!”
You look closer at her. She's floating in the air, for some reason, which confuses you, though you get the feeling that isn't going to be the weirdest thing you see today. Her freckle-splattered face one of bliss as she eyes you, hazel eyes sharp yet welcoming. It doesn't /seem/ like she's a threat. And anyway, if she's right, and this is a dream, nothing she says will matter anyway. “Uhm, alright then? What's…you're name?”
This question seems to make the already content girl shine with glee. Literally. She's glowing. “I'm so glad you asked, friend! I'm Thea! Immortal dream goddess and coolest person everrr!” She giggles hysterically, as if she'd said the funniest joke of all time.
“Heh,” You chuckled along awkwardly, not understanding what had caused the laughter. “So uhh, why am I here?”
Thea nods, running a bracelet-filled hand through her knotted hair. “Well, we needed to write some introduction thing for SWC! I figured, since it's my first year, I might as well go all out and do more than just /write/-” She grinned, mischievously this time. “I'd kidnap everyone and explain!”
You furrow your brow, thoroughly lost now, though that's not to say you weren't before, either. “But…why is it only me, here, right now?”
The young girl grins, clapping her hands together. “That's ‘cause I split my mind a bajillion and a half different ways so that I could kidnap everyone’s conscience and explain the same thing to all of you!”
You open your mouth to speak, than close it. It seems that the more questions you ask, the more confused you get. Better to just leave it be for now.
Thea smiles knowingly, pausing for a moment before continuing, “On to business, though. As I mentioned earlier, I'm Thea. I'm twelve, though we're just gonna say I'm thirteen ‘cause that’s cooler, I live in the USA, and uhh-” She paused, shaking her head slowly. “You know? It'd be better if I just showed you.”
With a snap of her fingers, you both disappear in a poof, reappearing in what seems to be an office or gaming-type room.
Holograms float in a circle around the room, existing everywhere but the desk in the exact center.
You pause, examining the images playing across one of the screen. It's a…banana? Chasing a kid who's wearing a gorilla costume? “Uhh-”
Thea shoos the hologram away, glancing at you apologetically. “Sorry, it's still set on dream mode and stuff.”
She seats you in the desk, and presses an imaginary button.
In sync, every single one of the holograms switches from whatever they were playing, to a bunch of facts, pictures, and videos of a girl. The same one that now stands before you.
You click on a random one, finding a fact. "I love to read, write, draw, and steal my best friends' kneecaps…?“ You read slowly, touching your own knees self-consciously. You really hope Thea doesn't try to steal them, that'd be a shame.
Thea nods knowingly, ”Heh, yup!“
Clicking something else, you see a picture, a drawn image of a reddish cat with spots, seemingly emo, with…fire? On her tail, chest and ear-tips?”
Thea smiles, gazing fondly at the being. “That's Ladybugshine, my main roleplay character. She's part of an RP called The Silver Shores, and I love her so much!” She nods at you're silence, adding, "I love to role-play too, though reading's definitely my favorite activity. Fantasy books are the best, though any fiction book, save for horror, is good with me. Don't give me non-fiction though- I will end you.“
You look at her face.
She's dead serious.
You make a note to throw out all non-fiction books in your possession.
”My favorite book is Artemis Fowl though, for sure! You should totally read it!“ A pause, ”And, human, see how I'm being polite about it?“ Thea asks, looking you straight in the eye.
You nod.
”Don't be fooled. You have no choice in this matter. I will live in your walls and kidnap your dog (Not cats though. Dogs are better.) if you don't. You must read Artemis Fowl. It is perfection. I love it so much-“
You nod frantically. No non-fiction, yes Artemis Fowl. Got it.
”I do, however, like TV Shows and movies too. Only cartoons though, since real movies are just-“ She makes a face. They didn't disgust her, per-say. But they were boring, the actors were meh, and all in all, she didn't love them. Cartoons were colorful. They grabbed her interest. They let her escape from reality. They weren't close to being as good as books, but there was something there nonetheless/
”Gravity Falls and The Owl House are the all-time best TV shows ever though!“ Adds Thea quickly, a grin reappearing on her face at the mention of them. ”Luz is a bi icon! She represents-“ Thea finger guns you, ”Me! Amity's the best character though- And Grunkle Stan too- We love Grunkle Stan.“
Thea opens her mouth to continue, but you interrupt her.
”Why'd you choose a dream goddess to be…you?“ You ask, looking about the room once more.
Thea's taken aback. No one had ever asked her that. Her tone changed. It was more hesitant know. Thinking. Not joking. ”I'm.. not sure, to be honest. I joined Scratch about two years ago and I just…decided, you know? I wanted to be a nature goddess, originally, but I made a split-second decision and became a dream goddess. I don't love it, but it's kinda become…me. In real life and otherwise. So I don't regret it! Don't wanna change it, either! I don't know- I like it, I think? Maybe that's why I kept it? I don't know why I picked it though."
You nod, not knowing what else to say. Good job? Cool? Whatever?
Thea saves you from an answer, continuing her speech as she points at different holograms, excited to get back onto a topic she was comfortable with. She liked the challenge, it was just that time was running out, and she had so much left to say!
There were so many videos, pictures, information. To some it might have been too much. But to many? It was exhilarating.
Thea dressed up in a Rumi costume, along side her two friends
Thea playing with a pure white golden retriever.
Thea acting in numerous performances.
Thea procrastinating on homework and studying.
Thea drawing floofy cats and humans.
Thea playing D&D.
Thea celebrating her 12th birthday at a sleepover.
Thea crying over Hunger Games in a plane.
Thea and her friends joking about how ‘straight’ they are.
Thea smiling as she talks to her friends on Scratch.
Thea tickling her little brother.
Thea joking with her mom.
Thea jump-attacking her dad as he chills on the couch.
Thea losing all motivation to write stuff.
Thea practicing reading from the Torah before her Batmizva.
Thea looking at the American flag in annoyance because it's too hard to draw.
Thea, holding a pan and pointing aggressively at one of her friends as she summons the bi flag to hold for herself.
Thea, staying up until one in the morning.
Thea, loving and hating and living and hoping.
Thea, Thea, Thea.
And as time goes by, and the pictures, videos, and images pass one by one, you feel like you begin to know the girl standing- well, floating- before you.
Her favorite color is blue. She's a vegetarian. Her favorite animal is a cheetah. She was born in the USA, lived in Israel for two years, and came back.
She's bossy, she's smart, she's loyal, she's arrogant, she's confident, she's like a human girl.
A girl with flaws. A girl with gifts. She's unique. She's strange. She's odd. She's weird.
Before you know it, your time has run out.
Thea, out of breath and sweating from all her talking, offers a light smile.
There's so much more to know about her, and yet you can feel yourself fading, returning to the world of reality and awake-i-ness (a word that totally exists).
“Bye friend,” You say, offering a small smile. You know her now, if only a bit more.
“Bye mortal!” Thea calls in response, a smirk still resting lightly on her features, “And don't forget to read Artemis Fowl!”
…
It's a normal day.
You know this because on normal days, you wake up to find that it's morning, after a few hours of night.
On normal days, look around to find that you are in your comfortable, familiar bed, and not sitting atop a chair so soft it might have been clouds, with what seems to have a heavenly glow surrounding it.
And most of all, on normal days, you open your eyes and don't see a young figure with short, messy brown hair, and hazel eyes, staring directly at you.

…I’m putting it all in one big thing again this time bc it was so hard to make sure it was showing the right guy for some reason and I don’t have the bandwidth for that this month
Welcome to my plentiful pile of shenanigan filled stories! Enjoy your stay!
Critiquitaire
LIVE REACTION: (Warning i did all this audibly then typed out a recording)
(feel free to skip its a useless mess)
“I don't know what that isssssss *sobs/laughs* okay… i dont… fully understand… “he would leave with the knowledge that something was alive at the end” that part doesn't fully make sense to me. The plants…. Gender, wowwwwww. I don't know what those areeeeee. *sobs/laughs again* hA “made him want to throw up but in a good way” is a wild… wild line *continues giggling* we’re judging the thing that i don’t know what it is… its a plant thing obviously but i don’t. know things. That’s kinda weird!! … okay~ …he… oH? NOO? I can’t read, I always read it as aromantic ‘cause I always forget the other one is even a word… what? But… mmmmmmmMMmmMmMMmvampires??? Vampire? What? Uhhhhhhhhh *continues giggling* ummmm. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Doesn't seem. Doesn’t seem good. Uhhhhhhhhhh. Vampires!! Vampires, yay!!! you have to realize, I LOVE vampires. This… we’ll see what happens. Doot doot doot… uHH. Uh…okay. Doot doot… uMMMMMmMMMM. Wow… mmmm… I love… *giggles* I’m just like “oh my goshhhhhhh!!” It reminds me of another book I've read that I really like! SO. y'know. Much fun. Very joy. *LOUD exhale* mmmmm…. Not. not a very happy ending, and that is valid. That is valid. Well. I enjoyed that!! I had fun… for some reason, this is a weird thing to say, uhhhh.. Uhhhhhhhhh…. So! Basically. That was GOOD. That was REALLY GOOD. you got me invested!! In… less than 800 words!! That could just be because I love… I love!! Full stop. Uh, but, I mean theres… There's EVIDENCE that I love gay vampires. And you just were like “what if i gay you… gay vampire” i… i had concerns when i saw “horror” and then it was, like, “oh just kidding… the horrors gay vampires ” i can tolerate gay vampires… you know i… I love gay vampires. So much. It just make me happy!! Ahhhhhhh. I'm gonna have to type… a summary of this… but, anyway, what I'm TRYING to SAY… is that was REALLY GOOD WRITING. The wet hands ISNT GOOD AHEHEHEHEHE *giggles* sweat… was… a bit. uM. i… i understand that the daily’s like “you need to spontaneously swaps genres” *giggles* but it was so wild!! I just… *still giggling* I wasn't ready!! Like I was just chilling!! ANd then all of a sudden!! I just wow!!! Vibe change!!! That's the point… *sigh… giggles more omg why* okay… *giggles* I just… its… thumbs up. So gooddddd i just. You gave me an acronym at the beginning that I don't understand but I'm going to assume that it means what I thought it means!! And I, y’know… i’m getting kinda repetitive so im gonna stop but… thank you for gay vampires”
TRANSLATION: (aka the only part im actually going to even count words for because everything above is useless, nonsense rambling lol)
1: i dont know what a conker is, and thats on me
2: i love vampires especially gay ones
3: i really liked reading this so much
4: im kinda ill and sleep deprived but don’t tell anyone hehe (im also just kinda like this…)
5: Seriously, this was so much fun for me?? I actually loved this so much i just want more excuse me as i go through the rest of your writing thread right after this because your work made me so happy
6: some stuff was a bit spontaneous but that is literally the nature of the daily itself
7: The end was!! Alarming i have concerns hehe
8: I really enjoyed the characters they were fun
9: thank you for letting me critique this and im sorry its literally the worst critique ever
10: Also I don’t know what “SpaG” means but I’ve assumed it means “spacing and grammar” (that’s why this is so messy, it’s because usually I go through and point out typos or sentences that sound weird to me!! Honestly thank you for that because I had so much fun doing this… sorry if it’s not that helpful)
(Go read the actual good stuff here)
Daily 6
Matching this session's theme, fall, this daily will be all about pumpkins! Maybe it's an essay on why their good for you or writing a story from the perspective of a pumpkin, anything to do with a pumpkin counts! Make sure to write 250 words to gain 250 points, and add an extra 100 if you share. Good luck!
“Hey, Jack, where are you going?”
He ignored her, continuing forward.
“Y’know, Mum’s getting worried about you. You’re spending more and more time in the woods lately.”
“Well, I like being in the woods.”
She hesitated, her eyes flickering a moment, before she added, “I’m worried about you too, Jack.”
He hopped over a fallen log, before stopping.
“Stop following me, Jess.”
“Stop running,” she growled, trying to squat under the log, before sighing and hopping over it as well.
“I’m not running, I’m walking away from you at a normal pace.”
“Well, stop walking away from me at a normal pace then,” she corrected.
He finally looked back at her, examining her.
“…you’re curious about what’s out there too, aren’t you?”
She gasped, insulted.
“What? No way. I love it here. Sadly, I have to follow you around to make sure you don’t get into trouble.”
“I’m older than you,” he reminded the other pumpkingirl.
“Yeah, but I’m better than you,” she replied.
“You’re spoiled.”
“You’re feral.”
“You’re annoying.”
“You’re stubborn.”
“I thought we were insulting each other. You’re boring.”
“We are. I’m not boring, I’m consistent.”
He climbed over a fence. “Well, they do say variety is the spice of life.”
“They also say you’re going to get eaten by a demon,” she pointed out. “The rest of the pumpkinpeople don’t seem to really be on your side.”
She opened the gate and shut it behind her as she walked.
“I met a demon once. Her name was Sarah, she liked daisies.”
“Past tense?”
He tensed, letting out a shaky breath. “She was killed by one of the more paranoid pumpkinmen. Demons don’t eat pumpkinkids, Jess, pumpkinkids eat demons.”
“Metaphorically, we don’t actually consume them.”
“Yeah, that’s right, we take their lives for nothing.”
He ducked under a branch and closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened his eyes, he jumped.
“Well, hey there kiddo,” the Gamemaster cheered. “Welcome to Lantern. I’m the Gamemaster. What’s your name?”
He hesitated. “I’m Jack. How… How did I get here?”
The Gamemaster grinned. “Well, kid, I knew you were special, so I cast a spell or two, just so we could have a chat here in my dimension. Here, let me show you your new room.”
NOTES: 378 words!! Jack of Lantern from Welcome to Lantern wow… (yall should sign up for my RP…) just made up a bunch of lore on the spot hehe… he’s a pumpkinman so his head is a pumpkin, which means this definitely counts, right? Anyway enjoy spontaneous backstory hehe

Weekly 1Pick up your pens and let your imagination roam…you guessed it, legends! It's time to write a poem. Whether it's a mythic epic or lovelorn sonnet, poetry comes in many forms and voices, and now it's your turn to play with words and create something harmonious, humorous, or heartbreaking – the possibilities are limitless. First, read through Zai's wonderful workshop on poetry here, and then use what you've learned to start crafting your own. Your finished poem should be at least 100 words long. May the fates be with you, poets!
119 words
A friendship made of tricks and lies
A forest full of watching eyes
A missing truth, longing for youth
A million worthless goodbyes
But if you look between
Below what most have seen
Begone, honestly, don’t crawl back to me
Beware the old evergreen
Close your eyes and hold your breath
Chasing truth, running from death
Can’t you tell, I don’t feel well
Clues towards what happened to Beth
Dear old Beth is gone for good
Don’t you know, just like your childhood
Darling, don’t go, what do I know
Despite it all, he’s just misunderstood
Everyone’s wishing for something
Each of them have things that they’re wanting
Equally alone, a garden we’ve grown
Endings are just new beginningsNow that you've delved into the world of poetry, it's time to channel your inner Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, *insert favourite singer here* because it's time to write a song. There are so many genres, styles and themes, so here to guide you is this workshop by the amazing Alba. Then, it's over to you to write 200 number of words. Happy songwriting!
286 words
All I ever wanted was someone who would stay
Someone to talk to as old skies turned grey
I wish I could say things would all be okay
But, darling, I’m so sick of lying
I’d promise it all would be fine
This dishonesty’s a hobby of mine
Does every line need to rhyme, send a sign
I lie awake every night, crying
Something’s watching in the trees
Something stole my memories
I try, but I lie, and what’s even the point?
Oh, yes, something’s watching in the trees
All I ever needed was someone by my side
But in the end I always feel like I must hide
An older me died, and I crawled in and lied
Why even bother, too late to start trying
Something’s watching from the skies
Something with a million eyes
I try, but I lie, and always disappoint
Oh, yes, something’s watching from the skies
I’m sorry for something, but for what I forget
I lost track of all of the things I regret
It’s not over til it’s over, is it over yet?
Rain is the cloud’s tears, the sky’s eyes get wet
I don’t know what I want, where I wanna go
I don’t know what I know
Hiding deep below
Goodbye honesty…
And honestly…
…I already forgot about me
Something’s watching, something’s there
Something pretending to care
I try, but I lie, so what’s even the point?
I try, but I lie, and always disappoint
I try, but I lie, please, I’m so sick of it all…
I lied about something that I hardly recall.
Something’s watching from the trees…
Something’s watching from the skies…
Something’s watching, something’s there…
And somebody, just like me, always lies.
(I’ll record this sometime but I’m sick so not right now lol)We've done poems, songs… What's next? We'll, I'm glad you asked—head on over to this workshop by the wonderful Finley, which will provide you with ample information to begin setting the scene for your very own script. To complete this part of the weekly, write a script (or screenplay, as some might call it) for a theatrical scene of your imagination in no less than 300 words. Best of luck, dear screenwriter!

INT. CABIN, MIDNIGHT
Elliot Dawn
(excited)
Hey, Steve, could you pass me the ruler?
Steven Beth
(snores loudly)
Elliot Dawn
(concerned)
…Steve?
(Elliot looks over, before flinching when he sees Carnation standing next to him, staring)
Carnation Lastname
(laughing)
Steve’s asleep, Dawn!
Elliot Dawn
(shocked)
Oh! Carnation! I… didn’t know you were here!
Carnation Lastname
(grinning)
That’s ‘cause I wasn’t! Listen, Dawn, that old friend of yours?
Elliot Dawn
(annoyed)
Oh, come on. I know you’re not a fan of him, but—
(while gesturing with his hand, Elliot accidentally knocks a cup of coffee over, spilling it onto his notes)
No! My notes! Goodness, this is a horrible setback!
Steven Beth
(still half asleep)
Elliot? What’s wrong?
(he sits up, shockingly quickly)
Elliot Dawn
(trying to hide all previous anxiety)
Oh, nothing, Steven. I suppose I’m just rather tired.
(he turns back, expecting to see Carnation, before sighing once he notices he had mysteriously disappeared)
Steven Beth
(hesitant)
Ohhhhh… kay then. Listen, you’ve been up for a pretty long time. You should go to bed, I’ll finish up for you.
Elliot Dawn
(surprised)
Really? Oh, thank you. Are you sure?
Steven Beth
(cheerful)
Oh, yes, of course! Listen, you’ve stayed up all night several nights in a row while I’ve just been dreaming. Might as well let me do it, considering you’re probably so tired that it can’t really even be that accurate anymore, can it?
(he shrugs, before getting up, and grabbing a blanket for Elliot.)
Elliot Dawn
(happy)
Thank you so much, Steven. You’re the best, you know that?
(he gets up to take the blanket, before getting pulled into a hug)
Steven Beth
(sincere)
You’re incredibly important to me, okay?
Elliot Dawn
(confused, surprised)
Oh… i mean, okay—
(he stumbles for a moment, and Steven catches him)
Steven Beth

But you’re so exhausted that I get tired just from looking at you, go to sleep.
(he leads Elliot to the nearest bed)
Elliot Dawn
(laughing)
You don’t have to do this.
Steven Beth
(light hearted)
I’m pretty sure I do, Elliot. Now lay down and close your eyes before I make you.Greetings, legends! For the final part of this weekly, you'll be writing a speech! First, go to this wonderful workshop by Fae in order to learn everything you need about speeches. Next, choose a topic. Your topic can be anything from mangoes, to trees, to Taylor Swift, to robots. The world is your oyster, so go and seize the day! Have fun, speakers! Or, should I say, SWC-peakers? ;D Maybe not… anyways, write a speech of 400 words in order to complete this part of the weekly!
431 words
Listen, everyone has a dream. Something they chase all their lives, no matter how unrealistic it may be. Something that inspires them to keep moving forward. Well, what if I told you that all your dreams could come true? It’s true! All that it takes is a bit of hard work, and a sacrifice or thirty to a horrifying deity of your choice, and there you go! Everything you’ve ever wanted! I’m your motivational demon, and today I’ll be giving the most motivational speech you’ve ever heard. Yeah, that’s right! You get your own motivational demon, because you’re just that cool! Someday, you’ll step out there, and you’ll take a deep breath, and say, “hey!” And everyone will look at you, and see the real you, I know it! Go ahead, folks, tell me; What is it you want most? It’s not too unrealistic, no matter what anyone else says! Just keep chasing your own tail, and maybe someday you’ll reach it! Set that bar as high as you’d like, because now you’ve got an ancient horror on your side! What a lucky person you must be! All your enemies, they’re just jealous! I mean, why wouldn’t they be? You’ve got it all, don’t you? And anything you lack, you’ll get it someday, as long as you continue listening to this appealing speech I’m giving you instead of looking away at the apocalypse beginning, as the entire Earth collapses around you! Just sell me your soul, and you could be rich! Famous! You could have it all, and all it takes is a bit of ignorance! Do you want friends? I’ll be your friend, you’ll never need anybody else! Do you want to be the most beautiful human of all? I’ll destroy the competition, literally! Do you want to be famous? Well, good news! I’ll make sure everyone knows your name! If you want, I’ll include you in everyone’s nightmares for one thousand, two hundred and thirty four nights in a row! I could do that for you! Never forget this moment, kiddo, because I could make all your dreams come true, and all you have to do is shake my hand! Just let me out! If you don’t… Well, you’ll lie awake thinking about it every night! I’ll make sure of it! Come on, just do it! What’s the worst that could happen? …see, that’s not even that bad when you think about it! What’s a bit of eternal pain and suffering in return for your deepest, darkest desires? *Bill Cipher is dragged off stage, still reciting his weird speech*
Daily 4:
Songs can be powerful, beautiful, and exciting. They can make you dance around your kitchen and they can make you cry. But most importantly: They can tell a story. And today, you’ll be taking inspiration from that story! Your songfic can be anything from turning the story in the song into prose or taking one line and running with it. Have fun with it! Pick any song you’d like and write at least 300 words for 350 points, and earn an extra 100 for sharing your work.
I ran across the room, grinning.
“I’ve got it! I’ve got it!” I slammed the papers down onto the table, before pointing out all the various equations to S. “It all fits together rather nicely, doesn’t it?”
He hesitated for a moment, and my grin faded.
“Elliot, have you considered… maybe this isn’t going to work?” He looked up at me, worried.
“What?” I furrowed my brow, incredibly confused. “Of course it’s gonna work, look at this. And… and if it doesn’t… Well, I’ll make it work! No, we’ll make it work! You and I, together, we’re the perfect team!”
He sighed. “Elliot. What are you gonna do after this?”
“Oh, I don’t know, I’ll find something else to study. And I’ll be famous! I’ve just begun, Steven, now I can’t stop!” I pointed at the pages again, poking them violently. “And why would I?”
“Because you’re hardly yourself lately,” he argued, “and I worry about you. I mean, have you talked to anyone else since you started working on this?”
“Solitude is a price I have to pay, Steven,” I explained, carefully avoiding mentioning Carnation. “I don’t know what to do, or who to trust!”
“Do you even trust me?” He interrupted.
“Of course I…” I trailed off. “Well, I mean…”
Carnation had warned me about him. He wasn’t dedicated to this cause like we were. But he was my friend… wasn’t he?
The hurt on his face made me feel ill, but I couldn’t stop now, I’d come too far. It was too late to contemplate things like this.
I sighed. “Steven, I don’t have time for this.”
“Since when were we on a time limit? Elliot, please, we’ve all the time in the world!”
“Someone else will figure it out first, replace me—”
“No one else even cares, Elliot! No one cares about this small town in the middle of nowhere,” he snapped.
“You care,” I whispered, desperately hoping he’d agree with me.
“I care about you. And that’s why I need you to stop.”
I laughed, a cold and hollow feeling bubbling inside me.
“He was right about you, wasn’t he?” I hissed. “I thought you were different, but no. He was right. He was right about everything.”
“What are you even talking about, Elliot?”
I turned away.
“Elliot, please, you’re burning out.”
“I’ve just begun.”
He bit his lip. “You keep saying that, but you’ve been working on this for years.”
“You know what I meant.”
“No??? I really don’t, Elliot.”
I rolled my eyes. “This is my fate, the person I’m meant to be! I’ll solve this, even if it kills me! They’ll all see me, they’ll all finally realize!”
“Realize what? Elliot, please, people care about you!”
“Who? Who, Steven, who would even care about me? My family only even acknowledges my existence because I could make them rich, or they’d throw me in the trash!” I laughed, remembering that horrible night. “I know they would, I’ve seen it with my own two eyes!”
“I care! I care about you, Elliot.” He let out a strangled chuckle, one that almost sounded more like a sob. “But I’ll never be enough for you, will I?”
“Steven, are you even listening to yourself speak? How could one person be enough? You had a family, and even that wasn’t enough for you! I can’t just rely on a single man forever, let alone a man who I know will never be able to stay!”
“Even if I could stay, would you even want me to? You just want to replace me, don’t you?”
“Why would you ever think that?”
He sighed, staring at me for just a little longer before finally walking away.
“Fine,” he hissed. “I’ll go work on the calculations.”
I wanted to say something, anything, whatever would salvage this conversation. But before I could even open my mouth to beg him to just wait, he was gone.
He didn’t get it. He didn’t realize how much this mattered to me. He couldn’t begin to understand, it was crucial, a fundamental piece of my existence.
It was my only sense of purpose.
NOTES: 688 words! Because writing over half the required amount is fun. Hehe I love writing vague fanfic where I change the name so it’s not clear that it’s all just the same two fictional old men <3333 I hope you like these guys bc they will definitely come up a lot lol… the song I chose was My Only Sense Of Purpose by Madilyn Mei!!
Daily 3:
Did you know that jellyfish are 95% water? You might be wondering why this daily contains such a random fact — and that's because today is World Jellyfish Day. In honour of these weird and wonderful creatures, your task today is to incorporate jellyfish into a story of 400 words for 400 points (and claim an extra 100 points for sharing proof)!
It floats in its jar, watching us discuss our foolish mortal issues. It has seen all, past, present, and future. Yet it lives here in an aquarium, staring down at us below. What does it think of us? Not much, I’d assume. Why would it even care anyway? It has lived forever, and will outlive our planet, floating through space until the end of time, and perhaps even longer. Humanity is like a blink of an eye to it. Well, I guess not really. Jellyfish don’t have eyes. But still, you get my point.
It has no brain, so I don’t know how it holds all of this knowledge. But it does! It told me once, telepathically. It can’t talk. …obviously…
I thought I must’ve been hallucinating at first, but then, the prophecy it had given me came true! It had told me the sky would fall in a month, and I hadn’t believed it. How would the sky even fall anyway? That made no sense! I simply assumed it was due to the fact that for the last two days, I wasn’t actually fully sure if I had slept, and I was incredibly ill. I ignored it.
Not long after, the jellyfish showed up in my dreams, warning me. If I did not buy pizza from Little Caesar’s, the sky would fall! I assumed this was just me processing the fact that I was kinda hungry for pizza that day.
But then, the very next week, Little Caesar’s started a fundraiser! The fundraiser was meant to help support the Holding Up The Sky Because Of A Strange Prophecy From A Weird Jellyfish At That Aquarium Organization. I found this a rather strange coincidence, but still refused to buy a pizza. The organization fell apart the next week, claiming they hadn’t received enough donations to continue.
The very next week, the newspaper claimed the sky was going to fall. I laughed, assuming the whole thing had to be a big joke. All the blackouts, big storms, droughts, floods… they were due to something unrelated.
As the sky finally began to fall, the jellyfish came to me one last time. Because jellyfish can’t talk, and don’t have faces, there was no way to really tell what it felt. But I assumed it was disappointed in me. I laughed in its face! The sky would never fall, of course! It didn’t make sense! It floated there just a little longer, staring at me with its eyeless face just a little longer.
And as the sky covered the planet, the last thing I thought to myself was, “gosh, I would love a pizza.”
NOTES: 440 words!! Yayyyyy all knowing jellyfish tries to stop an apocalypse with pizza (and fails)
Daily 2:
Bust out the blossoms—it’s time for a daily that’s in full bloom: the flower daily! Will your characters confess their love with ferns? Send ominous threats with oleander? Accidentally spark war with a poorly-arranged bouquet? Write 500 words of a piece that weaves in the meanings of at least 3 different flowers. This will earn you 500 points, with an extra 100 points for sharing proof.
Dearest __________,
I wonder if you still think about me nowadays. I mean, I think about you still. I never thought I would. That’s… a weird thing, isn’t it? Why wouldn’t I think of you? Truly, how self obsessed was I that I thought I was so much more important?
I was holding the periwinkle flower we’d found on one of our walks when I stumbled upon evidence that you didn’t think of me anymore. You didn’t want to anymore. I get it. Some kid ran by, and asked to hold the flower. “Of course,” I replied. And as he ran off into the woods, holding the flower still, I wondered if you told him to. To say, “you don’t have friends anymore.” Or to say, “I’ve forgotten you. So forget me.”
I still remember that cold October evening when you told me all about various flower meanings, you know. Even if you don’t. I had been working on several complicated equations, so I couldn’t give you my full attention. But still, I had heard some of it. I heard when you finally stopped, your voice trailing off right after mentioning ferns. Perhaps you stopped because you thought I wasn’t listening. I fear you would’ve been right. You were always right. I never listened, because it scared me, but you were always right. Maybe you stopped talking because you didn’t have the energy to talk to me about concealed love.
How’s your wife doing? You are, or at least were, my closest friend, so I feel I should be honest about this; I hope she’s divorced you. She should’ve done so a long time ago. Then again, I hope you’re not all alone out there.
Do you recall that warm summer morning when you’d picked several flowers to show me? It seemed like a simple, kind gesture, until I examined the flowers a little bit more. Hyacinth. You thought I was being rash. Rhododendron. You thought I was in danger. I was, but I refused to believe it. Finally, oleander. Once again, you were warning me. It seemed repetitive, and at the time, I thought it simply was paranoid. So I went to find flowers that would annoy you as much as these ones annoyed me, but in a subtle way where maybe you wouldn’t know I knew. Maybe you’d be delighted. For some reason, as I plotted flowery revenge, I hoped it would be the latter.
Fuschia. You were constantly anxious about something, so it made sense to choose this one. Hydrangea. Perhaps this applied more to myself in the moment, but alas, I chose it anyway. Finally, in order to lighten the mood, and make sure you would feel better about it if you tried to figure out what this meant, I chose roses. It was then that I decided not to give these to you, and instead threw the flowers into a river.
Someone you luckily never met (or at least I hope you didn’t. I’m sorry.) ended up giving me a bouquet, hoping to mock me for trying so hard, caring about the plants… I’d rather not say much more about him, really. He was never fond of you. You’d hate him too. But I couldn’t see past his lies, and I was stubborn.
He got me osmunda (“haven’t had a nice one of these in a while, have you? Wonder why…”), peach blossom (“that’s what I do to you, see?”), buttercup (“I mean, honestly, this whole thing with these weird plants? Grow up!!”)
I will stop writing, because this feels incredibly foolish anyway. I have attached zinnia, forget-me-not, and fern to this letter. I have no idea where you are living, and cannot send it to you, so I am folding it into a paper airplane and the winds carry it to you. I apologize.
Love, ________.
NOTES: 642 words! I actually used 13 flowers in this, if I’ve counted correctly. I love flower meanings, y’all… if you can figure out what inspired this writing, you deserve a gold star hehe
Daily 1:
Welcome all to SWC's 26th session! Whether you've been around since the dawn of times or it's your first time journeying with us, we're glad to have you :) For our first daily, go ahead and introduce yourself in the comments. In honor of our session theme, share something fun you did/plan to do this fall - or spring, for our southern hemisphere folks! Next, try to get to know as many people as possible. We hope you're as ready as we are for a memorable November <3
Well, hello there, fellow SWCer! My name is Charlie Middlename Kevinson, which is a completely real name and not entirely made up! My pronouns are he/they, and my gender is referred to as “silly little guy” when being casual (and “demiboy” when I’m actually being serious.) My sexuality is a complicated mystery to all, and I like to call it “bisexual,” even though “probably somewhere on the ace spectrum but I have literally no idea where and I’m not confident and I experience romantic attraction toward all genders but have preferences that confuse me constantly and don’t you hate run on sentences but alas here we are so you’d think I’d identify as ace omniromantic but nope” would be a more accurate description. I am also trans. All of this to say, I am incredibly queer.
I often will refer to a fictional character as “just a silly little guy,” especially if they are full grown men who have committed several crimes. This doesn’t mean I headcanon them as a demiboy. Allow me to explain. Silly little guys are typically fictional characters who are kinda evil at some point but I love them anyway and forgive them anyway because they make me incredibly happy, and typically get some sort of redemption arc at some point anyway. They are all queer, or at least I headcanon they are. Some examples would be Nico di Angelo, my first ever silly little guy, Hunter Noceda, the silly little guy that forced me to learn how to draw cats, Loki Odinson, my cat’s namesake and the reason this is the name of my account (it’s not Shakespeare y’all, I’m sorry) James Buchanan Barnes, the first Not Canonically Queer silly little guy and the one I’m likely most well known for, and Stanford Pines, the most recent edition to the fun little group of people who are almost all murderers for some reason!! These aren’t every silly little guy ever, but I’ve rambled about this topic for too long and it's hardly an intro anymore. (Also yes I did just imply that part of my gender is being just a little bit evil. Shhhh, it’s fine.)
I love writing, especially about a lot of those silly little guys I previously mentioned. I promise that whole aside was relevant, it’ll just keep coming up. My whole personality was just summed up in that last paragraph, whether you like it or not. I love writing a song, and in almost two years at this point, I’ve filled, like, ten notebooks with my weird lyrics that are basically just really bad fanfic. I play ukulele, which is the main instrument I use, but I also have a keyboard, which I’ve been playing for so much longer. I also have a guitar, which I used to play a lot before realizing in horror I have literally no idea how to play guitar shortly after actually learning how to play ukulele for school. I’ve a recorder as well, which I recently began learning to play, but I am not good at it, at all. My guitar is named Lucy, and my ukulele is named Finnegan. I think my keyboard also has a name (Brunhilde or something with that vibe??) but I’ve broken two other keyboards before so it’s much harder to let myself get that attached. My recorder is a much newer addition to the family, and has no name yet. Please give your suggestions, preferably something that reflects its loud screeching noises that annoy everyone and everything around me. (I love my recorder so much, y’all.) Every twelve songs I write are part of an “album,” and I very recently finished writing A Bard’s Biography, featuring a bunch of catchy songs about Fiddleford, with the occasional Ford and, incredibly rare throughout my songs, myself. I’ve recently started Stressful Songs I Hope Have Whimsy (like literally today) and so far it's been pretty good!
Speaking of music, I love Madilyn Mei! I’m actually listening to To Exist With You right now! I’m also fond of Olivia Rodrigo’s work, and Ben Platt. I’m about to admit something that could get me in so much trouble with everyone forever, but… I’m not a swiftie. I used to really like her music, but even then I never called myself that. Either way, recently, Taylor Swift has been making choices that have not been my favorite, and frankly, I’d just be listening to At Least I’d Be A Cowboy anyway, would I not? Whenever my mom sings Taylor Swift, I begin to sing the bridge of The Chapel. On a scale of one to ten, how obvious is it that I am sleep deprived? I stayed up incredibly late last night in a Dipper Pines costume watching movies and eating candy to celebrate Halloween, which is literally the best holiday ever.
I have three cats. Loki, a black cat who loves murder and also violence. I love him. Odin, a kitten who loves exploring and trying to get in the toilet for some reason. And finally, Thor, who I got at the same time as Odin! He’s another kitten who loves purring incredibly loudly and sleeping on shoes. I also have seven chickens, Penny, Violet, Goldy, Broody, Becca, Coco, and Margo.
I love drawing, and have been drawing actual stuff for real consistently for five years. (I joined Scratch intending to code, like the anthropomorphic art theft encouraging cat had hoped for us, before instantly diving head first into the art community as soon as a stranger on the internet told me I seemed kinda cool for some reason.) Recently, I’ve created a comic on Webtoon called “The Troublesome Society of Outcasts,” which you should totally read. New chapters come out every other Saturday– *insert distant sounds of Charlie being forced to stop advertising by a producer offstage* –oh okay. mOVING ON~
I am homeschooled which is awesome and I love it. I hated public school and I adore watching Crash Course videos and being encouraged to write my literary analysis essay on The Journal. But also I have pretty much no irl friends, which is kinda sad. It’s okay though, because I’m at an age where everyone else my age is actually the worst and consistently for two years of summer camp in a row I’ve despised my cabin mates and just had to pretend it was fine for a week.
I could ramble about the horrible things random children did for another thousand words, but luckily for you, I’ve already reached my goal! So, thank you for taking the time to read all this garbage, and I’m sorry.
Long story short, hi! I’m Charlie.
NOTES: 1113 words! Not much to say other than hiiiiiii everybodyyyyyyyyy!!!

Daily day 14
The letters we never sent title by @PixelDucko 608 words
To Y.
I’m not sure how to explain what I want to say, but I’ll try to.
Remember the day we first met? I was alone and exhausted, and then you came and spoke to me. I didn’t have any other friends that time and we spent a lot of time together.
Remember when we promised to be friends forever? The best day of my life.
Remember how we used to do everything together? We could talk for hours about everything in the world. You seemed to share. You was different from everyone else.
Do you remember us? Us.
That summer I noticed you wasn’t smiling in my company anymore. I never felt awkward with you before that; I could not think of anything to talk with you about. Something was wrong, and and I didn’t know how to fix it. You seemed more and more distant. I wish I asked you what was wrong - maybe then it wouldn’t end up like this. But I trusted you and I thought you will explain later - you just need time.
But I was wrong. You never told me.
Instead, you started ignoring me.
When I realised that, I didn’t know what to do. I was on my own again. Yes, now I had other friends, but how could I forget you?! I started ignoring you back. I thought, if you don’t want to talk with me anymore, let it be.
Now I doubt it was the best I could do. Two years have passed now. It’s too late to fix us.
I barely see you now. Always distant, you appear for a moment to disappear for a month. I pretend I don’t see you. But I do. I still love you. Oh, why did you leave me?
Please. Come back. Tell me if I was wrong - I’ll do anything to fix it.
I’m not sending this letter to you. I’ll remain silent - once again. This letter would only make things worse.
I’m sorry.
But do you remember us?
Your old friend X
X…
I know you’re mad at me. It’s all my fault. I’m sorry for leaving you like that - after I promised not to. I guess you hate me now. But I had to do it. Please, try to understand me.
I never had a better friend than you - we did everything together. Remember that day when we decided to bake a cake for our friend’s party? We had so much fun, but ate most of the pastry. The rest of it wasn’t enough for a cake. You saved us: you showed me how to make cookies instead. On the party we found out that everyone else brought cookies, too. We all laughed so hard. It was the best cookie party in my life.
You was always there for me. But something had happened. I couldn’t tell you what I’m struggling with, but if we kept being together I would share.
It’s not you - it’s me.
I would have to leave you. But I thought it’s easier to let go someone you’re not attached to. Though it was too late. I started ignoring you.
I know, I’m a traitor.
Please forgive me. I wish I had not done what I had done. But I couldn’t - and here we are.
I know you don’t want to see me anymore. I’m truly sorry. It shouldn’t have ended up like this. But I can’t change it now.
This letter will end up in my trash bin. If I sent it you would only be mad at me.
Goodbye.

It is quite interesting to be a nest.
I wasn't always a nest. In the beginning I was branches, newspapers and hay. Each part of me had it's own life. But then…
Then a couple of storks appeared. They started collecting all future parts of me and place them on a barn's roof. Humans didn't mind that. Branch by branch, straw by straw - that's how I started to exist.
The storks were making me bigger and bigger, and one day I found a precious egg in me. Then another. And one more. Storks were sitting on their three eggs, protecting them from cold and any danger - until one day, the first chick appeared. parents had no free time, they were hunting snakes and frogs from dawn to dusk. When chicks grew bigger, storks started to leave them alone for a while. They knew: I will take care of their chicks, and I was proud.
Soon grown up chicks started to learn flying. They were jumping high, testing their wings. The day of their first flight is unforgettable.
Meanwhile the summer had passed, and autumn began to blow with cold winds. It's always been raining. Storks seemed to worry about something, and then one they, they disappeared.
At first I've been waiting for them. Night by night, all lonely autumn - but when winter had come, I've realised that my destiny is over. Storks didn't need me anymore, and soon I will become ruins.
But then the snow melted. I enjoyed the sun and perfect weather. And then, suddenly I heard a familiar rattle. My storks came back! They didn't forget me! They started to make me even bigger. But suddenly another stork attacked them - he wanted me, a big, cosy nest. It was a heated fight, but my storks won. I was happy that they will have me this year.
Years passed. Storks that made me came back the next year, and the next one, too. Each year they were making me bigger. I was happy and proud to take care of their chicks.
But it didn't last forever. That late spring, an enormous storm had passed. It was so strong that the wind blew me from the roof. Ruined, I was laying on cobble stones of the farm. I felt terrible. Storks trusted me, but I took them down. Poor chicks fell, too.
In the morning, humans came. They took me and threw on a bonfire. But before they burned me, I saw that humans took care of the chicks. They made a new nest - clumsy, but storks could live there with their chicks. One chick hurt it's wing, and humans took him inside to take a special care of it. A small part of was taken to the new nest. I didn't die - I was different now, but each new year storks will lay new eggs in me. It will be forever.

Spoof ballad of George the Wanderer
One day a wonderer hit the road.
He met a wolf, a fox, a moose.
He heard the whisper of the trees.
He saw the beauty of the woods.
The neverseen, the lake of milk,
The mount with rainbow in it's cave,
The valley full of angry fruit,
He heard a ghost howl in it's grave.
Forever on and on he walked,
He asked for hay - they gave him pouf.
I know, this ballad sounds silly
But all I need is weekly proof.
I see you smile this very moment,
But let me get to very end.
Because this task might very well
Give poor skill of mine a mend.
Let's get to wanderer again.
His name was George - or maybe Sam?
When someone asked him where he's been
The only answer was “ahem”.
George read the clouds like a book.
Predicted sun - then started rain.
George loved the rain, but his old spine
Was not so happy with all pain.
So on and on he want, and then
He saw a notice on a pole.
“One hundred words” it said, and George
Explained to us: “I've reached the goal”.
part 2 - songwriting, 200 words

Sunflower
Verse 1
I've been cold, lost in the dark
Conquered by this cruel winter
There's no hope in endless murk
I've forgotten why I'm here
Pre-chorus
I am just a lonely seed
Chorus
When I saw you rising higher
Piercing shadows, burning light
Then I promised: “You're the fire
So I will forget the night”
Verse 2
Your regal force was my awake
With final cry of midnight bird
I saw the truth, it healed my ache
And “I will follow” was my word
Pre-chorus
I'm trying to reach up to you
Chorus
When I saw you rising higher
Piercing shadows, burning light
Then I promised: “You're the fire
So I will forget the night”
Bridge
The time will come
Sweet gold awaits inside me
The more I look at you
The sooner it'll be set free
Pre-chorus
Stronger, braver, higher, deeper
Chorus
When I saw you rising higher
Piercing shadows, burning light
Then I promised: “You're the fire
So I will forget the night”
Verse 3
Time to arrange my leaves and roots
Open eyes wide and see the sky
I feel the change, I grow my shoots
You gave me strength, it's now mine
Pre-chorus
I am now a brave, high plant
Chorus
When I saw you rising higher
Piercing shadows, burning light
Then I promised: “You're the fire
So I will forget the night”
Outro
I will follow you all of my days

CAST:
CLOVER - young female wolf
KESTREL - CLOVER's older cousin, a male wolf
THRUSH - an old healer female wolf
BUMBLE - an annoying pup
POPPY - quiet BUMBLE's sister
early morning at the pack's denside
CLOVER
(wakes up and yawns)
Good mourning, Kestrel… Kestrel? Oh where is he (sleepy)
(goes out of her den and sees a familiar tail sticking out of the healer's den, goes there)
Hey Kestrel! Babysitting, huh? (teasing)
KESTREL
Wrong guess, sleepyhead. Babysitting is Bluebell's duty today, as I remember.
THRUSH
But Bluebell went hunting and now I've got to watch over these paws.
BUMBLE
One more story, why did you stop! (screaming)
THRUSH
Patience young paw! You’ve listened enough for today, go and do something fun with Poppy (looks at CLOVER and KESTREL) And you go too, I still have to tidy my den. (annoyed)
(everyone gets out, pups run away with laugher)
CLOVER
So you was listening to stories, huh? Did Thrush told the legend of our pack again?
KESTREL
Why would I listen to something I don't even believe in? Heh.
CLOVER
(looks away)
Why were you at the healer's den so early, then? Wait, let me guess. A dawn patrol?
KESTREL
Well done, young detective. I've got scratched.
CLOVER
Oh no, what happened? (a bit worried)
KESTREL
Nothing, little paw, just a thorn. Blackbird thought he had heard something in the bushes but it was just a bird. There was a weird scent though, I wonder what could it be.
CLOVER
Okay, go have your sleep! And don't look at me like that, I know you're tired. I'll go hunting now. (smiles)
KESTREL
Smart sis… okay I'm going sleeping. Good luck. (yawns and goes to a den)
CLOVER
(Heads towards the hills)
Hmm… what is that scent I can smell… Weird…
(suddenly a rabbit hops out of the long grass)
Oh! Gotcha!
(Jumps on the rabbit but there is a steep side of the hill and she rolls down, bumping into someone)
part 4 - speech, 400 words

Why having a giraffe as a pet is good for you
Hello kids, I am your best friend and today I will chat about keeping giraffes as pets. Did you know that they are the sweetest, the cutest creatures in the whole world? You didn't you say? Don't worry, I will explain why having a giraffe is good for you and then you can run to the nearest pet shop to buy your new friend. Just be sure to inform your parents so they have some time to prepare for this significant event.
So, the first reason to get a get a giraffe (apart from that they are enormously cute) is their sleep. In fact, giraffes don't sleep much, which means that you can spend all day long playing with your beloved pet. And when a giraffe is finally asleep, it lays in a really weird pose - don't worry, your giraffe isn't sick! This pose is very comfortable for the giraffe and for you as well! You can use a sleeping giraffe as a sofa and watch movies with your friends sitting on it. But don't eat popcorn - giraffe will wake and you will fall from it's high back… Also, don't forget to take your giraffe to the beach. Ask someone to feed it with popcorn so the giraffe would stay still and have fun gliding down it's long neck right into the cool water! Another good reason to get a pet like this is is giraffe's tongue length. You get bullied at school? Little kids show tongues to you? No problem, just train your giraffe (with popcorn of course) showing tongue when you ask, and all your foes shall fear. But always remember to keep your giraffe back from your meal. Feed it with popcorn instead. You'll have to buy LOTS of it in the nearest pet shop. Unless you want to always be hungry, wondering why all food in your house disappears so quickly. By the way, giraffes are trendy. Remember that auntie's fancy bag with animalistic print? Ha, now you have a whole giraffe! Imagine riding on it to school. All your classmates will go giraffe spots with envy. Giraffes are very tall. This means you will most likely have to move to a different house - a bigger, taller one. But you always wanted an extremely tall room with a chewed blanket on a loft bed, right?
Of course, there are both pros and cons in keeping giraffe at home, but the problems are minor. So go ahead! Get your first giraffe and don't forget to thank your bestie Storm.
Daily day 4 - a story based on a song
Based on “Thank you for being my friend” by Caroline Cobb
301 words
Dear Della,
Today I walked past the house where we used to live. It is still there, even more covered with ivy that holds our memories. When I saw it I had a sudden feeling of nostalgia. I miss you so much and I hate that we live far apart - but you’re still a kindred heart!
It is so weird that we’re grown ups already and have our own families and kids. Years made us more wise, but I still miss that college nights - do you remember? I’d stay up half the night just talking to you. I miss the sound of your voice. You listened and pointed me back to the truth, and I tried to do the same for you. We all struggle, we all do - but eventually there’s nothing better than being able to talk through your problems with a real friend.
Do you remember that night? The night when I was told about the tragedy. It was the darkest night of my life, but you came and stayed with me, reminding the Sun’s gonna rise - and it did! I still can hear you praying for me and see your tears. That night you shone the light for me.
I know I don’t need to explain myself - you always understand me, and I still wonder about our friendship - how is it even possible to be so strong?! I feel like my heart is bound up with yours so tight that if yours will be broken, mine will be too.
Thank you.
Thank you for being my friend.
I’d love to catch up soon. Would you go for a walk with me tomorrow morning? If you’re not too busy with kids, of course. I’ll be waiting at the corner.
Your old friend
Bea
Daily day 3 - jellyfish
474 words
15 July - Mira’s diary
Today was my fourth day of living in - quiet hot - Greece and I woke up very early to not miss any minute of it. Thanks to my alarm, I saw the sunrise - and was just beautiful! It’s impossible to describe how clouds and mountains changed their colors in the rays of the new day.
I was the first one up and got starving waiting for others to wake up and have our breakfast. Greek salads are literally something by the way.
It had been planned that today we would visit a sea museum. My little brother George was really excited because they told us if we get there in time we could watch a shark feeding. Unfortunately, when the bus got us there it was too late and George got so upset because of it. I wasn’t, because I was still happy to see the aquarium with the sea creatures and all other interesting things.
The aquarium certainly was my favourite part, so I’ll talk about it now.
Fish swam everywhere around us, even the ceiling was a part of the tank. Everything was blue. My skin was blue. George’s white shirt was blue. Dad’s hair was blue. And mom’s blue eyes were impossibly more blue than anything else around us.
There were some huge fish - sadly I don’t remember how they are called. They looked annoyed and sleepy at the same time and mostly just stayed in one place in a group, slowly moving their fins in the water. At first I got surprised to see fish and sharks in the same tank, but dad explained us that not any shark would eat any fish. I think George got disappointed because he expected a bloody fight, ha.
Dad took a shot of me with a random shark behind my back. The shark on the picture looked honestly goofy and made George laugh silly. Even a random tourist smiled (only I noticed that though).
There also were stingrays and plankton - I could watch it through a microscope. But the most memorable thing this day wasn’t a shark or a stingray. It was Moon Jelly.
The jellyfish aquarium was the last thing you see in the museum - if you don’t count a souvenir shop as a thing, of course. George does, and heave been choosing a toy for solid 15 minutes. Honestly, I didn’t mind because I could watch the jellyfish.
And they were beautiful.
Soft-shaped, ghostly white creatures with four pretty “eyes” in the centre - the made me feel like I was watching some magical beings from a different world. They were slowly, rhythmically moving and glowed in the dark room of the last tank.
I felt pity when it was time to go.
This day is going to be remembered forever.
Daily day 1 - introduction
1020 words
Hi folks!
Are you a camper, leader, a host or someone else? Well, I can't wait to meet you all!! I am Storm (my other nickname is Sil but it's underrated), a Christian teen girl, and this is my first session of Scratch Writing Camp! My main reason why I joined is that I am a beginner at writing, but I really want to write more and improve - and when I found this camp, I thought: “Wow! That's exactly what I need!!” Plus, everything in this camp is well-planned and super interesting, so I couldn't resist… And here we are!! I've signed-up for three cabins: Thriller, Real-Fi and Solarpunk (to be honest, I changed my preferences for like seven times). Then, my leader told me I was sorted to the Real-Fi cabin!! I am really happy with the cabin I'm in! Also, fun fact: Thriller and Solarpunk are our allies! Exactly the cabins I signed-up for, haha.
Anyways, let's get to the introduction itself. My pronouns are she/her if you was wondering. I have a dog named Jessie - she is black and white and sort of looks like a Labrador, but she is actually an unknown mix - she is really pretty though. Jessie is quiet unusual dog, because she loves to chase the laser pointer, like cats do! Other pets I had before are snails, tropical butterflies, lady birds, a betta fish and two WinterWhite Dwarf hamsters.
My hobbies are: reading, drawing, designing any kind of things - from fantasy houses to outfits for my original characters, hiking, biking, horse riding, tree climbing, bird watching and any wildlife watching, nature photography and many others. My favourite book - well, other than Bible - I love it very much! - are Lord of the Rings and other books written by Tolkien, Chronicles of Narnia written by Lewis and, of course, the Wingfeather saga by the one, the only Andrew Peterson. So, these are also my main three fandoms.
I also love listening to music - I often listen to instrumental music, soundtracks from my fandoms and songs by Andrew Peterson and other music artists.
And, of course, scratching is my hobby too - I'm pretty often online though I try to be less active. Mostly I post art - either digital of traditional, I love both pretty much.
I really love anything related to nature. I enjoy discovering wonders of a forest near my house, and I pretty often go on walks with Jessie there. There are lots of different animal species in the forest - roe deer, foxes, stoats, squirrels, lots of unique birds. Once I found a pair of wood mice in my birdhouse - I named them Sam and Rosie. And there was a whole story, when a moose - I named him Legend - came very near to our house and started to eat young willows. We watched him from the window.
A bit more about drawing, because I want to write a ton for my cabin. My favourite tool is a pencil, I love to sketch random things I think of. I dream of becoming a book illustrator - as well as a designer. I love worldbuilding, I've lost count of the world I had cool ideas for. Like, the last one was a cube earth. Imagine yourself standing on the edge, looking down! But I think the horizon still would be round.
Okay, lets talk about my character now - can't really think of anything else to write. I would describe myself as friendly, a bit annoying, ironically easily annoyed, too, very protective over others, a bit heroic, a bit quirky and generally kind. I am an ambivert - that means I can be both like an introvert and extravert. Sometimes I am shy, but if someone smiles at me I turn into an annoying extravert, so I think I could call myself a lonely extravert.
My favourite book genres to read are Fantasy and Realistic fiction. Ironically, the first fictional story I wrote - and finished - was Sci-Fi. I have a long list of books I want to read in the future.
Oh! I forgot to talk about my appearance! Yay, some more things to write about. So, I am an average height, I'm pretty tan and I have brown eyes. I also wear glasses. My hair is brown, too, and it's really long and sort of wavy - probably just flowy after all. I like simple, yet nice-looking clothes. My favourite colours to wear are all shades of brown, blue, cream, gray and natural green. And my favourite colours in general are blue and green. I like to wear skirts, jeans and hoodies.
I have lots of favourite animals - it is really hard to choose just one because they all are amazing. For example, I love leopards, horses, dogs, maned wolves. Not really a favourite animal, but - have you ever heard of Indian Giant Squirrel? They look really cool, and what's even more important, climb trees. Yeah, humor. I love trees.
School. That's what I'm going to talk about next. I'm in high school, and my favourite subject so far is foreign language. I love to memorize new, colourful, weird words. Sometimes I even open my dictionary just to find a word that will stimulate my imagination to write a cool backstory for my new original character - or just to design one. Grammar is much harder though, I don't really like it to be honest.
Okay, time for random facts about me. My favourite season is spring, but I like summer, too. I am a October child. I love cheese. Like, really love. I like when I have adventure dreams. I don't like rain, and I do not enjoy to be stuck in the digital world for a long time, like now. I am so tired. I have a pen friend, and we use snail mail. It's really unique, but long. Well, I've reached my goal, so I leave you there, wondering why this girl have been yapping about herself so much. Bye!! Your little Stormy

Greetings, fellow campers, co-leaders, leaders, scratchers - whoever you are! I am Silvi (she/her), a tea-loving British bookworm! I am obsessed with all things crochet, and when I’m not beginning my latest project, you can find me practicing my flute or procrastinating in a corner!
As I mentioned about 2 seconds ago, I am a massive reader! I have not missed a single day of reading since I was about 5 (when I first learnt to read), and I have gone all the way from the Gruffalo to the Famous Five and now to Six of Crows and Shadow and Bone - I just finished the last book in that series (Ruin and Rising) and it was SO good <3 If you know, you know - please go read it right now, it’s too good :00 I also love Bea Fitzgerald who wrote “Girl, Goddess, Queen” and “The End Crowns All” and her new one, which I am yet to read! She is super underrated and you should go read her book right now! I am extremely privileged to have a massive library within my school, which I can take books out from all the time, as well as request books, and I am a very well-known face there and besties with all the librarians! I love books as a way of escape from the world, to get immersed in a whole new place, often made purely from imagination!
Another big interest of mine is music - I am working towards my Grade 6 on flute and working towards my Grade 5 music theory! I am involved in numerous music groups at my school - Orchestra, bands, ensembles - as well as playing at my church most Sundays, which is extremely rewarding! Recently I tried out for a County Youth Wind Band, and if I accept their invitation to go into the band, then I’ll get to go on tour across Europe - WOW. I also used to take singing lessons, and despite stopping them - both due to expense and wanting to concentrate on flute as I move up the grades - I still love to go and sing in the Youth Choir in our school, and I will also be trying out for the Chapel Choir!
Obviously I also listen to music - I have recently been loving listening to musicals - particularly Six and Heathers! I also love Lyn Lapid and Olivia Rodrigo, alongside Laufey, Cavetown and countless others
I have been crocheting for a few years now, and still have a LOT to work on, but I’m definitely improving! In the summer holidays I crocheted a whole entire cardigan, and I currently have an obsession with making crochet hanging plants - pretty much all of my friends have one by now! I highly recommend taking crochet if you’re looking for a new hobby, as it’s extremely accessible (all you need is yarn, a hook and youtube) and surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it! And once you learn to make one little thing, you’ll be moving onto the next and then the next and before you know it you’ll be a crochet master! (hopefully)
Now in my second year of high school (Year 8 for UK, Grade 7 (i think?) for the US), I am more settled in and comfortable with everything! I recently went on a residential trip to Cumbria with two of Year 8’s forms - unfortunately literally every single one of my friends are in the other two forms, meaning that I could have had a way better time with them, but I was stuck with the popular girls
It was super fun though at points though! I don’t really have a favourite subject - I love History, Biology and Art, especially Art, although I’m not very good at it! I really enjoy learning languages as well, so Spanish is probably one of my strongest subjects! I also used to learn German on Duolingo and I am planning to take that up in Year 9!
And, of course, I love writing! It is my dream to one day write a book (like most SWCers probably), but I’m not too worried about becoming the world’s next J.K.Rowling
My favourite genres to write in are probably Mythology and Hi-Fi, especially Mythology as I think it’s just such an interesting form of history that I would love to learn more about (I’m planning on taking Classics for GCSE, so that should probably give be loads of information about that side of things), and some of my favourite books ever have been based on Mythology. My favourite TV shows are Doctor Who, Horrible Histories and Ghosts - I pretty much just rewatch episodes of these alongside a few other series seeing as I don’t have Netflix or Disney! Harry Potter will always be the best film series, and the best film I’ve ever watched other than that is The Book Thief, which I highly recommend, but it is the saddest film I’ve ever watched!
I have been in SWC for 3 years now (I think this is my 8th or 9th session) and every single session has been unforgettable! SWC is what really introduced me to writing - of course, I enjoyed writing before, but it was never really a hobby, something I would just feel like doing, but SWC had changed that massively! I love not only the writing with SWC, but the incredible community! I think it is amazing that people from all over the world have the opportunity to come together and share a common interest in the most chaotic way possible! This will be my third time co-leading in SWC, with the other two times being in November 2024 with Bi-Fi and the other being July 2025 in Tragicomedy! And this November, I am co-leading Action alongside Skylar and Sihan! We have been planning so much over the past few weeks and I can’t wait to see all of our hard work come into play this session! You should definitely come and check out Action and finally, Happy SWC!

Last season I saw people do this, but I sadly missed the first few days. But why no partake in this tradition now that I have the chance? Rambling comes insanely easy to me, so why not give it a go?
Hi there! My name is Rue, but I also go by Willow, mainly for the sake of the username. I honestly do not really care what you call me, as long as it's not offensive/I asked to not be called specifically that name. I use she/her pronouns, but I don't mind and you can use any. This is my second season of SWC, and I am so excited to participate in it as a member of the Gothic cabin!
I absolutely love labels like MBTI and enneagram, so listen to me yap about that. I guess you could call me an otrovert, which is a term to describe someone who doesn't fit social norms, but doesn't mind being social or not. I am an ENFP-T last time I self-diagnosed (tests don't really work on me), but I'm starting to become an INFP. you probably figured this out, but I know everything about MBTI. I can figure someone's out by simply getting to know them. I am trying to learn enneagram, but there is so much, especially things like stacking and wings. But I am a sx/sp 741 (7w8) as I have learned. Not sure if that really means much unless you understand it. But it basically means I want close relationships then be on my own, not liking group situations much (sx/sp.) The numbers mean I crave freedom and excitement (7w8), I am a dreamer (4), and I value being good and morally correct (1.)
Holy yap and I'm not even done. I still have to go over alignment and temperance. This paragraph will be shorter, since I am not too familiar with them. I am a neutral good, meaning I strive to do right things in a neutral way. I am sanguine-melancholic. They are technically opposites, as sanguine is optimistic and outgoing, whereas melancholic is thoughtful and idealistic. But that just makes me outgoing and reflective in simple terms. I crave for freedom and meaning at the same time. So while both are considered the most different out of the other temperaments, it still is possible.
I am proud to say that I am a American-Filipino. I am chief-editor of the journalism club at my school. In case you couldn't tell already, I adore reading and writing. Some books I love are Wuthering Heights, Little Women, and many more. I am currently reading You've Reached Sam and Sense and Sensibility. My poor heart is going to be so broken after I finish both, especially since I just finished another bittersweet book. Classics and historical fiction are my favorites. I also read and write fan-fictions, but I don't share them due to not having any accounts on those sites. I really enjoy drawing as well, and currently working on a very chunky sketchbook.
I also roleplay on Scratch, and I'm mostly on The Four Clans RP. However, I have been previously on others, like The Silver Shores and Wolves of Dusk Valley. I really enjoy roleplaying, but I do feel guilty for not roleplaying much recently. Hopefully SWC will give me the motivation to comment on threads and build upon my characters. Roleplaying has played a huge part in my life, and I completely recommend it to people. I mainly just stick to Warrior Cats related ones, but I've seen ones for humans and other fandoms as well!
One thing that people notice about me is that I tend to have hyperfixations. Currently, I am hyperfixating on the Roblox game Forsaken. If you don't know what it is, it is an asymmetrical horror game where one killer chases have up to eight survivors. Rounds usually last 3-6 minutes, and survivors can lower the timer by completing generators. It is actually much more fun than it is scary, and you can trust me as I am scared of the bubbles in Minecraft. Usually games I only obsess over for a month or two, but I feel like this might last longer as it has a strong fanbase. Fandoms I can stay for years, like the countryhumans fandom which I recently kinda escaped. I was in it for around 3-4 years.
Continuing on the topic of obsessions, I love the K-Pop group, Stray Kids! They are also a hip-hop and electronica group, according to Wikipedia. They consist of 8 members and self-produce all of the music. I am a STAY, which is what they call their fans. I am proud to say that I have watched all of the SKZ Code episodes, which is a show of them having fun, like traveling to Australia, playing games at an amusement park, and many more. I have been stanning them since February of 2024, and have attended one concert. I own 3 plushies of SKZOOs, which are animals that represent them, and 4 physical albums. I am also proud to say that I am member of Scratch's biggest Stray Kids fan-club, Stray Kids Central.
Speaking of fandoms, I consider myself in many of them. I could go into each one and yap about the lore, but that would take way to long. I love Cookie Run: Kingdom, and although I don't play it much after getting into Forsaken, it still holds a place in my heart. The Amazing Digital Circus was an indie show I loved back I still had the attention span to watch it. Warrior Cats, also known as Warriors, is still important to me, and I've been reading the books for around 4-5 years now. Although I don't read much of it anymore, I still am a part of the fandom because of roleplaying. Since there are so many other fandoms I'm a part of, I will just simply list them: Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun, Gravity Falls, Voltron: Legendary Defenders, BTS, Enhypen, K-Pop, The Outsiders, Countryhumans/Countryballs, and Naruto.
I love history. Especially wars. I know a lot of history things, and the facts can get so specific you start to wonder if I have world domination plans. Anyways, I enjoy watching videos of Oversimplified, as I love the way he just paces everything while still adding humor. I love learning about things like World War 2, bunch of revolutions, and other cool and action-packed events. Speaking of history, I love learning about political and economic systems. I don't mean politics like what's happening now, but rather about totalitarianism, socialism, oligarchy, and others. It's a weird hyperfixation and don't question it because I too have no idea why I enjoy these things.
A fun fact about me and these obsessions are that I can literally take anything and see it as a reference to my hyperfixation. I see, “I feel hollow….I'm alone in this world.” in a book? Yeah my mind starts playing “Hollow” by Stray Kids. It doesn't even have to be a hyperfixation for me to think of a song/piece of media. My parents mention melatonin? Well did you know that in “Outside” by Enhypen they briefly sing, “I need melatonin?” Mention the word two, and I immediately think of Two Time, a character from Forsaken.
The amount of information I can absorb is also scary. Like how I can memorize songs insanely easy without looking at the lyrics. Then they get stuck in my head so I have to spam them in my writing. Oh, did I mention I once wrote an entire paragraph about Felix of Stray Kids in a social studies essay title? Not once did I even Google the fact, I just simply knew them. And yet I can't retain information at school and would probably fail a test unless I cram the night before. How useful is that? Last night I started and finished an entire book for school, and I can tell you every single detail of the plot and can discuss this. Mind you, the book was read at 12 AM.
I really want to yap more about Forsaken so I will. I only explained how to play. Now, what makes it different from other games like Murder Mystery 2 and Flee the Facility? Well, you can purchase characters for player-points. Nothing really costs Robux, only for VIP which just adds a skin and emote. Each character has their own abilities, and makes the game really personalized and makes everything more interesting. For example, Noob is survivalist, meaning he does better at hiding. Whereas Shedletsky is a sentinel, and excels at stunning and distracting the killer. Elliot is a support, and helps his teammates. The killers also have their own things they are great at. 1x1x1x1 is great at ranged attacks, Noli is good at mind games, and John Doe is best at trapping players. The lore also is insane, and I could spend hours just talking about it. They all have a connection to each other in some way. Like 1x1x1x1 is the embodiment of Shedletsky's hatred, and now wants to kill anyone associated with him. 007n7 is the father of c00lkidd, a killer. He was a former hacker before changing his ways after the death of his son. c00lkidd is convinced that he is just playing a game. Everyone there has somehow been “forsaken” and trapped in that world, as a source of amusement for an entity named The Spectre. I also really love the OST, and the songs are so good. It feels amazing just listening them in-game, despite knowing that I'm cooked, as most of them are only played if you're the last one left. I can just replay the songs on loop all day, which is what I have been doing. For Halloween, I cosplayed as one of the characters, Elliot. He was really fun to dress up as, and I even won an award at school for it. Well, also I am friends with the people judging, but that's beside the point. I know I probably talked more about Forsaken than about me in this part, but like who really cares. Forsaken is literally a part of me. I know all of the lore and everything about it. The only thing I'm missing is a Chance (character) plushie. But I can't exactly explain to my parents why I want a plushie of a grown man who gambles. Okay but the fandom is also a reason why I'm trapped. Like the fanart??? The animations??? The covers to songs like Creation of Hatred??? Ignore the bad side of the ships, and they're actually pretty good. The AUs as well are so much fun to draw and imagine. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I might actually write an entire paragraph of this now that I think about this because I need to.
Okay so I think that is enough of Forsaken. I think this last section will just be rambles and random fact. So my favorite color is blue but not really because I kinda like red but pink is cute ooh but green I also like yellow. Why can't I just say rainbow? Because it sounds a bit childish, and rainbow is not in fact my favorite color. I like them all individually, not striped in a certain pattern. My favorite number is 12, I think. I don't know, it always stuck out to me, but now it just feels kind of dull. Like I need a new number. So now I'm searching for one since I don't have a favorite. I used to crochet and play the flute. But those hobbies didn't last long. Hey, at least I tried and I actually know how to do them. I just don't want to pursue (omg Forsaken/Die of Death reference???) it. I think I kind of tried photography, but that was also a bust. Did you know that I've been traveling a lot? I've been to Canada, Japan, France, and a few more places I think. Okay my fingers are growing tired and starting to cramp a little bit.
I am really excited for this season of SWC and I am excited to meet new friends! Gothic for the win!
