School Computers II
Huh, well it's an easy A for computer classes so that's niceNot yet, but the computers seem to be faster now as they probably finished updating the servers in preparation (this is a speculation though). Maybe they'll actually update them during Halloween break. But that means…I'll have to help the entire class with the new ui like what happened with the media classroom computers that my english class had to use for printing speeches. They were very slow and I had to help the class. I do have knowledge on how computers work, so that's why the entire class comes to me for help. I am very busy in computer classes as a result.Apparently my school's computers seem to have been slower lately. One of the teachers said that there was an update going on in the background, probably involving the school servers because all the problems seem to be mainly online based. A website kept showing errors, an editing software wouldn't log me in, the app list my school provides doesn't even load sometimes, and Word keeps automatically switching to light mode until I restart it a couple times. I hope these get fixed after the update (which has been going on for about a week now).Did it get updated to windows 11 yet? The school district waited until the last second to do it
edit: most of the computers in the media classrooms are fine, but the specific room my english class had to go to had very slow computers. They are also quite old models even though the school bought them recently.
Hope windows 11 is good to you- ChameleonGamerYT

I'm gonna go on a rant about my middle school technology teachers. This is mildly related to school computers, as in tech class we all used our school computers.
The first lady was pretty chill, we made robots using a vaguely Scratch-like software.
The second teacher was an older woman. She INTENDED for us to use Scratch, but she either left or got fired (I don't know the true story) before we got to the unit. Second woman was also kinda strict. She had charging stations, but you literally weren't allowed to bring a chair over. She also was apparently very strict with kids using the bathroom, after she was gone some kids were glad that they could finally use the restroom in tech class. Third woman was old, but not as old as the strict old woman.
Third teacher, she assigned us exclusively presentations and brochures to make. I remember one assignment was a passion project. I thought passion projects were things you liked working on, not projects about your passions. I made a slideshow about object shows. I still have the original Google Slide, it was recently updated to remove two YouTube videos (the Inanimate Insanity Invitational intro and Ice Cube's elimination in BFDI) and add a note about the YouTube block. A second assignment from the third teacher was a brochure about a location. It had to be a real location, so I couldn't make a brochure on, say, Yoyleland.
And then there's the librarian. I could watch BFDI or even make a Scratch game just fine, but she once got mildly concerned over a “public chatroom” where we were talking about “blocked websites”. She was referring to the tab I was on, which was THIS EXACT THREAD.

I'm gonna go on a rant about my middle school technology teachers. This is mildly related to school computers, as in tech class we all used our school computers.Could be worse, you could have been using Code.org. At least you didn't have teachers who didn't know what to do. I have a friend on my robotics team who took a coding class this year. The teacher for his year (They don't pick anyone who knows what they are doing, they just pick a person who has some hours free) is a math teacher I had. I despise her soooooooo much. She doesn't teach, she just had out worksheets. If someone asks how to do something, she just reads what the sheets says even though what they are asking for help is about what's on the sheet. She gets mad at the class when we all get a bad grade on assignments because she doesn't explain. From what I've heard from my friend she has no idea whatsoever on how to use SCRATCH. Scratch! The thing literally made for children! I feel really sorry for him

Just realized I could download youtube videos as a mp4 on my school laptop instead of trying to find a proxy.Ehhh, I usually just find a way around, instead of a full on proxy. Usually I can find some weakness, like lagging out their system by opening a bunch of tabs all at once using a folder, but they have to be different tabs. So far my folder has 88 tabs.

i think we're going into a bit of a gray zone here, as youtube to mp4 converters are sketchy pages almost all of the timeJust realized I could download youtube videos as a mp4 on my school laptop instead of trying to find a proxy.Ehhh, I usually just find a way around, instead of a full on proxy. and then there's the ability to download age restricted content without having to show any ID/to log in which is pretty bad if you ask me
anyway, the school i'm in now has a BYOD policy, so we mainly use citrix to turn our own laptops into school ones

Small little skit about my school blocking YouTube.
The District: “We're limiting student access to YouTube on our network, starting with the 2025-2026 school year.”
The Students: “Oh, so I can only watch some videos on YouTube at school?”
The District: “Wait and see.”
The Students: “Time to see what videos I can watch while in school!”
YouTube: “Your administrator has disabled this service.”
The Students: “That's not ‘limiting student access’ that's full-on preventing student access!”
The Students: “Let's see if that disabling of YouTube affects home use too.”
YouTube: “Your administrator has disabled this service.”
The Students: “Well, at least I have my other devices!”

Just realized I could download youtube videos as a mp4 on my school laptop instead of trying to find a proxy.i use this trick to download music to my chromebook to listen to offline and when i'm in math class because my math teacher blocks youtube, scratch, and maybe some other stuff idk about (i use mp3s instead of mp4s tho)
speaking of math class, she blocks scratch, youtube, chatgpt, infinite craft (all but the first are quite reasonable, ic is a game and the other two can be used to cheat however i don't use chatgpt for that, scratch is unreasonable tho) but not a question-answering game that the filter doesn't want me to talk about

I read TheGreater_Good's comment as “Just realized I could download you!ube videos as a mp4” because of my dirty monitor (the home computer, Scratch is blocked on the school one. I was like “Why would you censor YouTube?”Just realized I could download youtube videos as a mp4 on my school laptop instead of trying to find a proxy.i use this trick to download music to my chromebook to listen to offline and when i'm in math class because my math teacher blocks youtube, scratch, and maybe some other stuff idk about (i use mp3s instead of mp4s tho)
