Scratch Membership is BOGUS!

It is one of the Worst things i've ever seen on this website! https://www.scratchfoundation.org/membership $35 per year dosent sound bad but its for scratch, why would you want to pay for scratch????? at that price i could get 1 or 2 books on REAL programming languages so i can actually use these real programming languages! i was thinking about quitting scratch for a long time because im going to turn 13 next month and the Stupid Membership just convinced me after my birthday im probally not ever gonna publish stuff on this website ever again.

P.S: you can spend better things with 35$ and there isnt alot of benifets.

Don't wast your money on this.

No offence but Why are you crashing out over this?, like no offence again but it’s not like someone is forcing you to buy the membership.

1, Scratch is a non profit thing, it runs off donations. Of course eventually they’re going to have to make a new way of getting money to pay for all the sever costs.
2, the membership doesn’t even change scratch for you so you don’t have to
pay for scratch?????
.
3, if your quitting scratch you don’t have to put it in your post freaking out over a non profit company making a membership so they can pay for all the high sever costs, instead I suggest you just do it. Scratch is literally just a website for people who are beginning their journey into coding
4, I noticed you saying “real programming language” implying that scratch is some fake programming language. The implications of that are false. A fake programming language would be something that doesn’t even exist.
5, you get new sprites every single month, get to join in exclusive community events and merch discounts. The events can encourage more coding and the merch discounts literally saves you money that you can use to buy your “real coding languages”. Aswell as that you don’t have to pay monthly instead you only have to pay yearly 35$, which you can make back way quicker than if it was a monthly subscription

Membership is a donation tier with sprite early access and store discount perks. The earyl access content associated with Membership will be accessible to everyone anyways (just obviously not early for non-members).

Scratch is, and always will be, free; you don't have to donate if you don't have the money for it. But do be respectful to the donators who make Scratch free in the first place.
